do y'all ever wish the folk of the air books were narrated, not just in Jude's pov, but in like, a third pov or multiple ones? that way, maybe we could've had flashbacks of Cardan's childhood whenever he saw madoc being nice to jude, or val moren's moments with eldred whenever he reminisced them with jude, or whatever ran through Cardan's mind when he was w jude, madoc's thoughts when he found out jude had betrayed him, oriana's thoughts whenever she missed oak, Locke's thoughts whenever the bastard tormented jude and why exactly did he play with the twins cuz i feel like the depth of his scheme wasn't explained enough through Jude's pov, Nicasia's thoughts when she and jude were alone in the secret passageway.. Idk, i just kinda wish the povs in the book were switched from time to time.

"Did you love him?" I ask.

"Of course I did," he tells me, but he sounds as though he's talking about long ago. "Once I met him, all the duty I felt for my family was rendered as frayed and worn as an old coat. And the moment his hands were on my skin, I would have burned my father's mill to the ground to have him touch me again."

What if part of the reasons why Cardan wanted Jude to come back so bad from the mortal world was because he was afraid she'd get old and pass away while he lived on?

Oh god it's 3am, make it stop pls. I'm bawling my eyes out.

When Cardan exiles Jude, I love how she is immediately spiraling and absolutely losing her mind (seriously how did she not start throwing knives), and Cardan is over here like “omg I hope my new wife thinks I’m clever.”

Mental Exhaustion in Writers

I get asked all of the time "why don't I have my fire for writing anymore?"

It's because you've 1. put so much pressure on yourself TO write 2. you've spent so much time putting down your writing and 3. you've made yourself feel inadequate anytime you couldn't write

So now you're over here, in this cycle of unhealthy mannerisms and thought processes about your writing when you should be having fun with it.

Ultimately, something about writing seemed fun to you when you started, right? Otherwise, why would you have started? Whether it was the idea of reading a story that didn't exist yet, whether you thought the act of writing or worldbuilding or character creation was fun, something about writing seemed fun and enjoyable to you.

But you twisted it and twisted it until it became a pretzel of self-sabotaging insults and pressure until now you've popped and all of that expanding air of excitement and joy you used to get from writing has released from your brain and now you're just mentally exhausted.

Take time to relax and to repair your bubble so that you can begin to expand and blow it up again.

You need rest after you've put yourself through so much. It's okay to take a step back for a bit, revitalize your brain, your creativity... it's okay. Take a little time away from writing.

You don't have to be writing 24/7 to be valid or good or even great.

You simply being is enough. Allow your brain rest sometimes.
