what do you do when your pokemon don't like your music taste. i was spring cleaning and listening to music and i think the three of them collaborated to unplug my speakers. i had to clean in silence for the rest of the day

just a reminder this april fool's not to trust those rare candy giveaways you see online. always exercise caution! or send them to someone you don't like. if they get scammed, suddenly it's not your problem anymore

they've got these little easter hats hanging up in the pokemarts. yknow, to like, dress up your buddies? i brought hypno to the store with me and the second i picked up a set of bunny ears he shook his head and glared at me. i don't think he's in a very festive spirit this year

has anyone tried that like. button communication stuff? where you get some buttons that can say things like "yes" "no" "treat" etc. and put em on the floor for your pokemon? they seem neat but i don't know that I necessarily want to be debating with my pokemon because rest assured that Will happen

I'm curious, have you always wanted to be a Ghost trainer? Since I'm not a battler nor drawn to one type in particular, I like to ask for different perspectives on how and why others choose specific type specialties. That, and owning a Dark type myself, I'm familiar with the stigma around "scary" Pokemon and like to show that those types are more than old folks' tales/superstitions.

im so glad i get to talk about this! ive always just sort of been drawn to darker or spookier themes, but my older brother really wisened me up to my love of ghost types.

when i was a kid, my brother had a duskull named loki that he used to take everywhere with him. we used to live in viridian city at that point, so ghost types weren't common (and i still don't really know where he got it from, because they're not even native to kanto) and it kinda freaked people out sometimes. which is short for "it scared the shit out of everyone".

i asked him why he didn't pick a pokemon buddy like a charmander or an ekans, which were right up his alley. all he said was "i saw him and i knew he was the right one". my brother was big on pokemon companionship, so when i say that loki was his best friend, i mean it.

i talked to him one night about pokemon, and i mentioned that i wanted to be a trainer, but i didn't really resonate with any pokemon the way he did with loki. he lent me a few of his pokepedia books and while skimming through the kanto section, i found all the ghost pokemon. suddenly, id understood what he said about loki — when i saw the ghost types, i knew they were what i needed.

in fact, if it weren't for my brother, i wouldn't have ghost! he gave me ghost as a moving-out gift when i was finally leaving viridian city and moving to lavender town to be with more ghost pokemon. just one thing in the extensive list of things i owe to my brother, really!

ohhhhh yeah! that one makes it's way around town every so often. around halloween, a good number of the houses hang up these little hand ornaments — usually made of paper, or you can buy one at a poke mart during the holidays — on their porch or outside their door in hopes of warding it off. i haven't seen it, but it's apparently not at all shy. it feels like every other week there's a new picture with the hand in it haha

great question! the rumours about lavender town are so prevalent because, in all truth, it is a pretty paranormal place (which is probably in part thanks to the pokemon tower, let's be real). thats half the reason i moved here — i love spooky stuff — but i digress.

ive got some wicked insomnia, and a good number of nights are spent throwing fisticuffs with it instead of getting any worthwhile shut-eye. if it gets real bad, i usually just say "to hell with it" and take a little walk outside or up the pokemon tower if i feel so inclined.

one time, on a walk up the tower, i swear i heard a voice. it sounded muffled, but close, like it was in the ceiling. there were some scratching sounds and some words I couldn't understand, but when i went up a level, there was nothing. no voice. no scuffling or scratching. zip. zilch. nada.

i wasn't necessarily scared, but uneasy, to say the least. i finished up my walk and headed back home, and i even listen out for it every time i'm back at the tower. it hasn't happened since.

im sure there's some urban legend that can explain it — or maybe it was just me being dead-tired and shambling at 3 am — but it's one of my favourite stories to tell! my friends have all heard it once or twice, and I'm pretty sure they've sworn off visiting the tower at night which, if you ask me, is nothing short of hilarious

we're working on it! ghost is still a gastly, but i want to evolve him eventually. getting him to a haunter and then a gengar is going to take a lot of work, though, and im not much of a battler — i fear my lil bud is gonna be all floaty and incorporeal for a while. if anyone has any tricks for evolving pokemon a little faster, feel free to let me know!

i think my pokemon are communicating ghost stories to each other. which on one hand is really funny but now on the other hand snurf refuses to sleep in his bed and keeps sleeping with me which is like... fine... but i fear what might happen if he ever loses his everstone
