Hi there could i get some tips on creating a mage who uses celestial spirit magic (like Lucy and Yukino)

Of course!!!

Mod Juvia just loves celestial mages but, there are not very many. You’ll have to make your own keys, or at least that is what Mod Juvia suggests!  The celestial mages have to form a deep bond with their keys to really get them to work well as seen by how well Lucy works with her spirits but, take Loki’s previous mage and think of it like that. He went against her a lot and really that messed up a lot of stuff. So Mod Juvia would say to have them build a strong bond. 

When making your own keys remember they aren't going to be anything like the Zodiac one so build new keys that they can use. Mmmm Mod Juvia will make a better break down of them at some point but, they are hard to make because in Cannon there aren’t very many...

Hello. Well I need help. My OC is mage of Light. Can she learn Urano Metria? Can use this magic attack anyone or not? I really love this attack (i love galaxy) but I don't want my OC be Mary-sue. Thx for answer.

I’m afraid this may be a spell that your character might have to pass on. This spell is an extremely advanced one, and not even Lucy can use it on her own. The only time she has invoked the spell by herself is when Hibiki transferred the spell’s information and casting requirements into her brain, along with a surge of magic. The other times were with Gemini, Aquarius, and Yukino.

With all of that said, there is a certain amount of skill and magic power involved with this. If you really want your character to use this spell you can! Your character would probably have to be dedicated in learning such a difficult magic, perhaps studying and practicing it a lot. And even if they do learn it, its a high possibility that they won’t be able to use it with its full potential. So if you want to avoid your character being like a Mary-sue, I’d personally avoid that spell, there’s plenty of magic types they can learn and practice without being a Mary-sue!

Do you think it would be a good idea to give a celestial mage martial arts skills?

Hi there! Do you mean celestial spirit mage? We’re assuming that’s what you’re talking about when we’re answering this ask! Chances are your character will have to rely on some sort of hand to hand combat at some point in time. But you will have to decide if your character will know basic hand to hand or actual disciplined martial arts. If you go the disciplined route, which type of martial arts has your character learned or trying to learn? Do they follow all the rules, selective ones, or none at all? Have they tried to develop their own style of fighting?

Hello! Are you talking about celestial spirit magic? Because as of now there isn’t really a thing. Celestial magic would have to do with the stars and essentially space magic. The only people who have been seen using such magic are Lucy and perhaps other celestial spirit mages.

Yes you can! 

First off, takeover is a very hard magic to use, as seen with Elfman when transforming into the beast that “killed” his sister, he was physically unable to because of the mental strain it caused him. If your character has a mad emotional and mental tie to the monster they took over, its safe to say learning to use it will be difficult.

Some starter tips would be have them start small? Its kinda like a talent, take over magic that is, between Mira, Elfman and Lisanna, Mirajane is the one who has the obvious talent for takeover magic. This is proven when she has multiple demon’s she can transform into, which probably took a considerably huge amount of time skill and magic to take over.

Maybe they can even use just a small part of their body? Elfman used his arm to fight which gave him an edge with hand to hand, and Lisanna uses it to gain advantages in the battlefield such as altitude when she’s flying.

I don't know if you guys are still active but I would like to hear some feedback on my OC's magic. I am trying to decide between two different types of magic currently: one being chaos magic and the other being astral. Chaos magic is a rare magic that revolves around destruction. It has a somewhat shadowy appearance when in use but is different from shadow magic. Astral magic revolves around using psychic powers to attack mind, body, and soul. Things like telekinesis (within reason) and the such

Chaos magic in my opinion would be a bit too similar to Gildarts magic, with him being able to pretty much break down and shatter people and items. Perhaps you can expand on the chaos part of chaos magic? Instead of making it destroy physical items, what about corrupting people’s minds? Chaos in the sense of making people go insane with voices in their head or warping the world around them with illusions that make them seem like their going mad. That could be an interesting thing to play around with, because your character can either actually manipulate the world or go into the opponents head and mess with them.

With Astral magic I’d think of it more of a space magic? Because with the name astral magic you’d assume it would deal with stars instead of paranormal activity. If you want to tie in the stars with this magic, maybe your character can manipulate the stardust that’s in every living being? And keeping with the telekinesis they could have a pendant that has a star or moon rock embedded in it, allowing them to manipulate the power residing inside of the rock to allow them to control the gravity around them to an extent.

Some time ago I sent a question about your opinions about an OC with Take Over magic, but I'm thinking of changing it. I came up with an idea of a holder magic OC, who uses elemental crystals to imbue weapons/armors with said element. The limitation with it would be what elements she can use, and a reason behind them (i.e. there wouldn't be a water crystal, because crystalized water is ice), and tht she can only use two elements at a time. Any feedback you can give?

Hello! This is very neat! But I feel as if it would turn into a copycat of lacrima. As we’ve seen with Laxus, the crystal can be charged with energy to suit the user’s flavour. So in essence the lacrima can be used to create different elemental weapons.

BUT!!! It doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea, it just might need to be adjusted! What if your character knew of a way to create lacrima, or perhaps their own concoction of lacrima? Taking the crystals that have different elemental energies and combining them into a shape or their guild symbol. Then you could have them carry different weapons with the same carved out slot of the crystal, so they can pop the lacrima in and fight! Switching weapons if need be.

Hi, I'm so sorry that this took so long, I thought I had messaged you a while back on my results, but I honestly can't remember if I did or not. So if I didn't, I am so sorry, but I wanted to thank you for helping me on my OC. I took out the dragon slayer parts, and am going into more detail on some of the things you guys suggested. Thank you so much for helping me again.

That’s what we’re here for! It’s good to go through trial and error with your OC’s. But remember! We give advice and try to help you the best we can, but sometime’s we want to take away a part of an OC that means a lot to you, or something of the sort, what we tell you are always suggestions! If you feel like you want to keep it, do it!

So I thought about a magic that uses singing to do various effects like attacking or adding status buffs to teammates, how does that sound?

Why that sounds lovely! You could perhaps narrow it down by choosing a genre. How will your character get the music/words out? Will it be pop, rock n’ roll, reggae, they could even do opera bits?

Rock n’ Roll would be really interesting if you use it to add status buffs, because of the energy and excitement that goes into preforming that type of music!  

Another thing you can focus on with that sort of magic is, the more spirit a song has (I.e how energetic and peppy it is) the more stamina is drained from the user. You could also have it so the user’s stats get transferred over to the one their supporting.

To put it in numerical terms, if your character has 100 magic power, and say Gajeel has 50 magic power. After casting a spell and singing to activate it, your character now has 50 magic power and Gajeel has 100! This can be very interesting if you choose to expand on it!

Hiya! I would like to know if you're not to busy what would you call a Requip Mage that only uses hand to hand combat weapons like Boxing Gloves or Knuckle Dusters? And what other weapons would you put into this category?

Requip: The Brawler. Ya know cause Erza’s is called the knight. Idk if that helps

Mmm hand to hand combat doesn't have a whole lot to use like that.  Becuase it is hand to hand combat. 

It might be better to choose to have it be a magical item.
