Rewatching EXU Calamity and I’m a little sad we didn’t get much interaction between Patia and Purvan. In episode 1 introduced and contrasted Purvan and Zerxus, but I think there’s an interesting parallel or contrast in the Matron’s relationships with Portia, who maybe studied under her as a wizard and knew her as an ambitious academic (unclear, but at least knew her as a mortal and learned about apogee solstices from her), and Purvan, who is so devoted to her as the goddess of death that he is her Champion. Like he leaves the party after the “she was one of us” bit, but I could see that going differently if instead of an npc claiming her for the home team (as Brennan put it), it was instead a PC saying something like “She was my friend/teacher/babysitter/whatever”
