This excerpt from The Life of Percy Bysshe Shelley by Thomas Medwin is KILLING me.

Medwin was Shelley's cousin; he knew Shelley and Byron and their circle, and later fabricated much of what he wrote about them, to the hatred of Mrs. Shelley. However, considering Shelley's frequent complaints even in letters of his complex jealousy toward Byron (and subsequent guilt for it), and considering Shelley's dramatic use of language, I can completely imagine him going on heated rants about "the Byronic Energy." That's so him. This is the same dude who wrote a poem for Byron starting with the lines "If I esteemed you less, Envy would kill / Pleasure" and ending with the lines "the worm beneath the sod / May lift itself in worship to the God" like ummm! . . . bro was enchanted . . . the Byronic Energy really did take his powers . . .

Everybody is talking about this new Roman Empire thing, but the real question is: how many times do you think about that cloudy day in 1816 when Mary Shelley Wollstonecraft, Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley and John Polidori challenged eachother in creating the spookiest story ever and "The vampire" and "Frankenstein: the modern Prometheus" were born? Because for me, it happens on a daily basis.

The first time I listened to Sweet Nothing by @taylorswift I thought it was so Virginia Woolf-coded, mostly because the lyrics "on the way home, I wrote a poem. You say 'What a mind!'. This happens all the time" made me think of her relationship with Leonard and his reaction to every novel and piece of writing she'd ever written and published.

Now, I am reading Solid Objects and there is this part in which Virginia talks about John's emotions toward a piece of glass he finds on the beach and this scene reminds of me of the pebble in the song, the fact it may miss its home.

I love how music and literature collide in Taylor's lyrics.

wait but can we talk about how jarring it is to read official news releases ab this show after marinating for months in the good omens fandom on tumblr?? like, i'll read a piece from an actual news site that goes something like,,, "Good Omens explores the dynamic between two unlikely friends--one angelic, one demonic--as they navigate their lives on Earth in the aftermath of a failed attempt to enact Armageddon. oh. my. god.

i dont think ive ever felt so much at once. i was genuinely shaking from excitement for ma&thb and cruel summer. that was the best emotional whiplash ever. going from sobbing to marjorie to taylor's champagne problems speech and then tolerate it. sob. ing. and then THE VISUALS FOR THE INTRODUCTION TO EACH ERA? FENOMENAL. rep blew me away. took me a min to stop sobbing to tolerate it but i have never felt so gay.

I can literally see Aziraphale rehearsing the whole "while we dance" thing and I'm sure that him wanting to dance with Crowley is the real reason behind the ball. I bet he thought about asking Crowley to dance with him for the whole day and it is showed by the agitated and strangely excited tone in his voice in that marvelous scene.

I love the fact that Michael said Aziraphale wouldn’t change his clothes for the ball.

I don’t know why Michael said that, but to me it looks like Aziraphale and Crowley were the only ones not under any spell or change - they were not part of the fantasy.

Aziraphale didn’t want Crowley to think they were acting, pretending, putting on a show. That it was fake.

Aziraphale wanted it to be real.
