Sometimes I see this panel used in metas about Jason, as a way of basically saying "this is what Jason needs to relearn! He can't save everyone / it isn't his responsibility / etc."
And that's a strange take to me because like...everything that happens to Jason is why he can never believe this again.
Because it's one thing to say this when you're the survivors.
And it's another thing when you have been the victim. When you have been the one written off as not being able to save everyone.
Jason was a murdered child. He was collateral damage. And he knows that without a fluke of fate, he would still be dead. He can't believe excuses anymore ("your antiquated morality") for why victims like him are allowed to happen, he can't accept platitudes (a good soldier) in the face of his own death.
