A Spell/Crystal Bowl to Accept Your Sexuality
For some people accepting their sexuality is harder than it is for others for various reasons, this particular spell worked wonders for me and I hope it does the same for you!
What You'll Need:
Crystals that correspond to the flag color of your orientation (for instance, I used amethyst, white quartz, smokey quartz, and a black obsidian point to represent the ace flag)
A bowl (it can literally be any bowl, an old container, just something bowly, also I know bowly is not a word but it works here)
A piece of paper
A black ink pen
How to Perform The Spell
Cleanse everything you're using.
Write what you want on the piece of paper (example: I accept, love, and embrace *insert sexuality and/or sexual identity*.) Then write your name and birthdate on the paper as well, on either side.
Assemble your crystals however you wish in the bowl, then stick your paper underneath one, it doesn't have to be hidden just firmly tucked into the bowl.
Then you're done! I hope this spell/crystal bowl helps you and please let me know if you try it and what your results are. 💗

Yule
Tumblr media
Northern Hemisphere Dates: circa December 20th - 23rd
Southern Hemisphere Dates: circa June 20th - 23rd
Similar Celebrations: The most obvious similarity is with Christmas. Like Samhain, the Christians sought to replace Yule with their own holiday within their religion. This celebration commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. Hanukkah is a Jewish celebration known as the “festival of lights”. This lasts for eight days and commemorates the defeat of the Assyrians, who persecuted the Jews and refused to let them practice their religion. Kwanzaa is another well-known celebration around this time, and is an African American tradition. This tradition takes place over eight days, and each day is meant to celebrate a different aspect of positive living. This holiday also involves the lighting of candles, one for each day, and culminates in a feast with everyone present.
Purpose: Yule is on the Winter Solstice, which is the shortest day of the year. Early peoples noticed this phenomenon, and celebrated Yule as a return of the God’s light. Many pagans choose to celebrate this by watching the sunrise on the morning of Yule. Others celebrate by lighting fires and candles to represent the return of light. This Sabbat is a remnant of rituals and celebrations meant to hurry the winter season so that spring may once again bring its bounty. To many modern Wiccans and pagans, Yule is representative of the circle of life and that all new life must first come from death.
Goddess and God: This marks the part of the year when the God is reborn from the Goddess. This is represented by the Sun’s return and growing strength as the days once again get longer. The Goddess, who slumbered through her labor, rests after the birth. This is represented by the barren earth during the month of winter.
Key Words: Darkness, Divination, Light, Purification, Rebirth/Renewal. Most of these key words are associated with the rebirth of the God at Yule. The darkness and light represent the darkness before the birth and the consequent return of the light. Purification comes with birth as the old has died and the new untouched has sprung forth. Divination is corresponded to this Sabbat because many look forward to the new year and divine what is to come for them.
Decorations: Decorate the altar with pine, juniper, cedar, bay, and dried leaves. Traditional practices for this Sabbat include creating a Yule Tree (now known simply as a Christmas Tree), string up garlands of cinnamon and other fragrant spices, and creating a Yule Log of oak or pine. For kitchen witches, cook with apples and pears, and for non-vegetarians, pork is traditional.
Correspondence Chart:
Trees: Apple, Cedar, Chestnut, Fir, Juniper, Oak, Pine, Yew
Herbs & Spices: Chamomile, Ivy, Sage, Blessed Thistle, Mistletoe
Stones & Metals: Ruby, Gold, Silver
Animal Totems: Bear, Boar, Stag, Squirrel, Tiger, Eagle, Snow Goose, Kingfisher, Lapwing, Robin, Wren
Deities: Aphrodite, Gaia, Hel, Isis, Ma’at, Tiamat, Apollo, Baldur, Bragi, the Green Man, Helios, Janus, Lugh, Mabon, Marduk, Mithras, Odin, Ra, Saturn
Planet: the Sun
Time: Midnight
Season: Winter
Ogham: Ailm, Beithe, Ioho
Element: Earth
Zodiac: Capricorn
Colors: Gold, Green, Red, Silver

Winter Witchcraft
(Taught in @thealexandriarchives on 1/17/20)
Winter. The solid dark earth, bright swirling snow, prickling sharp ice, stark reaching branches, echoing warm silence. It can appear in a variety of different ways around the globe depending on the local season. I shall do my best in today’s class to give inspiration and tools that apply to as many persons as possible. I apologize in advance if this Midwest USA witch is a bit too used to intense winters and forgets to adjust as much for those in more temperate zones.
Tumblr media
When it comes to the season of winter, it is most commonly associated with snow, ice, cold, all those Hallmark style holiday card scenes with snowmen, scarves, and white covered buildings. At it’s core however, winter is really just your area’s fallow period. It doesn’t have to involve cold or snow; just the time when things are not growing (or not growing as much). Locals may tend to be more inclined to stay indoors; regardless of the weather, and just be more lethargic and measured in their time.
When it comes to incorporating winter and it’s attributes and power into your witchcraft, the main ingredients you’ll want to work with are:
Dirt: Fallow dirt is mighty! Like a hibernating bear, it’s carefully collecting all those nutrients and minerals and saving them up for spring to share in full with local flora and fauna again! It is stable, strong, and patient. A good ingredient for spellwork involving breaking a habit, defensive protection (long term wards especially!), prosperity and abundance spells; especially slowly building ones like a long term money spell, spells or glamours relating to hiding or camouflage, encouraging a relationship to remain stable and grow, and many more. Though it should be strictly collected/harvested during the winter, you can store it year round and it retains it’s Winter attributes.
Snow/Ice: The most obvious winter witchcraft ingredient, this will mostly be used in a melted water form but some examples I’ll offer use solid snow and ice and the melting of it is part of the spell. It’s a good ingredient for: cleansing, freezing a person or problem, healing, banishing, creativity boosting (especially in physical crafts). Like with winter dirt, you can only collect during specific times but can store year round. You can even refreeze in your freeze if you have a spell that requires it to melt in some fashion that you want to cast in spring or summer.
Specific types of snow and ice correspondences: https://orriculum.tumblr.com/post/ 168151692633/winter-correspondences.
My own post on using snow in witchcraft: https://stygiantarot.tumblr.com/post/181955654194/ we-just-had-our-first-real-snow-here-in-ohio-and
Stones: Stones found in winter can have a special sort of power to them. Despite being unchanged physically year round (besides temperature), stones absorb energies readily. They are attuned to what is going on in the locale seasonally despite not directly changing themselves. It is because of this physical permanence that they are more easily able to be energetically sensitive. I like to use them especially in divination work (whether directly in creating runes or oracle sets or indirectly in boosting divination power and focus). They hold that deep quiet and patience of the season deeply under their hard surfaces. They also make excellent spellwork batteries and anchors for warding or enchanting.
Sticks/Pinceones/Flora castoffs: Those things that trees and shrubs drop are especially potent in winter as well. A weathered stick, a prickly pinecone, even some nuts and seeds are cast off during the fallow season and can be used in spellwork. These tend to be good for intentions relating to growth, protection, spirit work, psychic prowess boosting, and creativity as well as associations related to the plant it came from.
Cold weather Flora: Evergreens, hearty flowers like heather, and witch hazel, and early flowers like snowbells or daphne; there are still some plants that thrive even in chilly temps or fallow growing periods. Keep a sharp eye out in your local area for what remains or becomes vibrant during your winter and you can incorporate it into your spellwork. It would have the attributes of that plant, but “jazzed” up a bit during the season of winter when it remains strong amongst other flora that wait for spring or summer.
Citrus/Spices/Seasonal kitchentry: Despite it’s bright sun and summer associations, most citrus fruits are winter growing and this is an appropriate time to incorporate them into drinks and foods to bring some sun into your fallow period. It can help with healing (anti-depression especially), inspiration, solar magic, and creativity. There are also the warmer spices like those used in mulling ciders and wine that are good to use during this season to inject warmth and power into your spellwork. Take a look at what might grow or be commonly used in cooking during your area’s fallow period and incorporate them into your kitchen work in drinks, food, even baking!

Now to build spellwork and crafting ideas. The following are from my own grimoire that you may use or be inspired by!

Snowmen poppets: draw or write a taglock on a piece of paper and put it into a snowman! The intention of the spell takes effect on the target as the snowman melts.
Snow cleansing baths: put a bit of snow in your bath for a soothing ritual bath. Imagine all your worries falling away like a gentle snowfall drifting from the sky.
Winter Jar of Dirt: collect some winter dirt into a special jar, leave a bit of room at the top and put in scraps of paper that outline things you need to have growth or be more stable throughout the year. Feel free to double down by drawing some sigils on the jar for growth and stability.
Create a tool: use a winter stone or collection of them to create a tool for your practice. This can be a divination set, a spellcasting battery, an enchanted focus stone, even a painted offering, etc!

Use that crockpot or bake!: This is the time to do something warm and slow. A soup in a crockpot, a slow roasted dinner, those favorite cookies or brownies you remember from days of yore. You can also focus on a warm drink recipe; chocolate, cider, tea, coffee, wine, etc! They all can be made intentioned with spices and flavoring additions while they warm up to toasty soothing temps!
Room and floor sprays: use a bit of snow or ice, added to standard water, along with winter focused herbs and spices infused and put in a spray bottle for room spray or fl oor wash. You can focus the intentions as needs but a good one would be a pre-cleansing treatment for that “spring cleaning” physical cleaning many do! Or an energizing or inspiration spray to keep out seasonal blues and lethargy.
Enchant a blanket: Take a favorite blanket and enchant it with comfort, warmth, and peace for you to cuddle with during chilly evenings. You can do the same with a favorite towel for after warm baths or showers!

The methodology in creating crafting and spellwork ideas is to think about that fallow period and what you can “harvest” from it; whether it being something directly like snow or dirt. Or something indirectly, like the quiet, the introspection, or even the longer nights to do more lunar focused magic. Spirit work is another strong association in winter months. The slower and quieter season allows for easier connecting often to those not of physical form. Trying visiting a graveyard, park, or museum during your fallow season and seeing what you are able to sense.
Winter is also the time to take stock of your own life and spirituality- just like the earth does during its fallow period. Catalogue and cleanse your tools while you consider if there are any more you need or any you might pass along because you no longer use them. Clean and reorganize your storage and altars or shrines. Spend some time adding to your grimoire or journal those entries you’ve been putting off. Do some shadow work or divination. Write down some clear spiritual goals you’d like to focus on this year (good to put in your Jar of Dirt 😉 ) Do extra research on that area you’ve been debating on delving into.
However, don’t let yourself become too isolated. It’s normal to want some additional space in fallow periods, both personal and seasonal. But it’s important to still have some regular times that you get out of your own headspace. Set reminders for yourself to reach out to your favorite people to at least have a chat even if you don’t have the ability to get out of the house. Connect with online friends and community. Share ideas, thoughts, stories. Go see a movie or to a museum.
Letting winter into your bones doesn’t have to be chilling- it can be like that first breeze when you step outside. A surprise, maybe you gasp for a moment. But it’s exhilarating and revitalizing and reminds you of the beauty and wonder of nature. Even when nature is quiet and stark, she’s there. Just waiting for you to reach out and find her secrets and power to lend you. Go forth and Do the Magic.

Mabon, the Autumn Equinox
Autumn equinox, about September 22nd
Give thanks for what you have, celebrate the gifts of the earth but also acknowledge that the soil is dying.
History: People have been celebrating the harvest for centuries. In Greece people would celebrate Oschophoria for the harvesting of grapes for wine in the 1700s, the Bavarians came up with Oktoberfest, and in China’s Mid-Autumn celebration is on the Harvest Moon night. While US citizen celebrate Thanksgiving in November, many see the second harvest of fall as a time to give thanks for your crops and animals and how well they grew because of how well your family should be eating in the winter. Originally US Thanksgiving was celebrated on October 3rd, but Abraham Lincoln changed this with his “Thanksgiving Proclamation” of 1863 to the last Thursday of November, and in 1939 Franklin D. Roosevelt tried to change it to the 2nd to last Thursday to boost moral during the Great Depression but it just confused people and we kept the last Thursday of November to celebrate.
Decorate your altar with colors of autumn like yellows, oranges, reds, and browns. Symbols of harvest like baskets, sickles, sythes, and veggies like corn, squash and root veggies. This is a balance so scales, yin-yang symbols, a white and balck candle will all work.
Symbols include mid-autumn veggies (squashes, eggplant, pumpkin, etc), apples (juice, cider, pie, applesauce also), corn dolls, seeds, nuts, seed pods, baskets, sickles, scythes, grapes, vines, and wine.
Prayer for Abundance- We have so much before us and for this we are thankful. We have so many blessings, and for this we are thankful. There are others not so fortunate, and by this we are humbled. We shall make an offering in their name to the gods who watch over us, that those in need are someday as blessed as we are this day.
Balance Prayer- Equal hours of light and darkness we celebrate the balance of Mabon, and ask the gods to bless us. For all that is bad, there is good. For that which is despair, there is hope. For the moments of pain, there are moments of love. For all that falls, there is the chance to rise again. May we find balance in our lives as we find it in our hearts.
To The Gods of the Vine- Hail! Hail! Hail! The grapes have been gathered! The wine has been pressed! The casks have been opened! Hail to Dionysus and Hail to Bacchus, watch over our celebration and bless us with merrymaking! Hail! Hail! Hail!
Prayer to the Dark Mother- Day turns to night, and life turns to death, and the Dark Mother teaches us to dance. Hecate, Demeter, Kali, Nemesis, Morrighan, Tiamet, bringers of destruction, you who embody the Crone, I honor you as the earth goes dark, and as the world slowly dies.
Prayer of Thanksgiving- The harvest is ending, the earth is dying. The cattle have come in from their fields. We have the earth’s bounty on the table before us and for this we give thanks to the gods.
Home Protection Prayer to Morrighan- Hail Morrighan! Hail Morrighan! Protect this land from those who would trespass upon it! Hail Morrighan! Hail Morrighan! Guard this land and all those who dwell within it! Hail Morrighan! Hail Morrighan! Watch over this land and all contained upon it! Hail Morrighan! Hail Morrighan! Goddess of battle, great goddess of the land, She who is the Washer at the Ford, Mistress of Ravens, And Keeper of the Shield, We call upon you for protection. Trespassers beware! The great Morrighan stands guard, And she shall unleash her displeasure upon you. Let it be known that this land falls under her protection, And to do harm to any within it Is to invite her wrath. Hail Morrighan! Hail Morrighan! We honor and thank you this day! Hail Morrighan! Hail Morrighan!

New Moon in Cancer
(July 9th)
This months new moon will bring about all the heavy emotions so it’s important to take a step back and maybe set some intentions to reevaluate your life and get started on that path that maybe you have been avoiding or afraid of.
This new moon is connected to Venus, so it’s also a good time to be clear and open in your relationships as well as manifest possible future relationships.
Tumblr media
I’ve been going through it lately guys. I want to use this moon to let go of the things that are holding me back from being the version of myself that I truly desire to be. I constantly compare myself to people around me, and a lot do it has to do with social media. I have all these aspirations for my life, but I feel like if I can’t be the best then I shouldn’t do it at all. Which really shouldn’t be how I view life! It’s okay to not be the best, as long as you’re giving it your best.
I also have been holding myself back from all the passions that I have yet to pursue. I have so many interests in life, but the people around me tell me I’m stretching myself too thin, that my little hobbies aren’t gonna get me far in life. They say I need to focus on the “big picture”. My tiny interests aren’t gonna help me in my career, so why should I bother? I hate that mindset. Maybe I want to be able to do everything. And I believe I can.
The limitations of others should not dictate the boundaries of my own life.

Honey Lavender Bread
submitted by @materiamystica
Tumblr media
½ cup Greek yoghurt ½ cup plain flour 1tsp baking powder ¼ tsp salt 1 tbsp dried lavender 1 tbsp honey 1 egg, beaten
The intent is to increase mental clarity and connection. To clear your spiritual and mental brain fog so that you can think and see more clearly again. To improve clarity of vision and connection to your heart’s desire. Lavender is employed to stimulate clarity and connection, cleansing, memory, passion, peace of mind, healing, love, passion and retention. With the honey for added sweetness and stickiness to make visions all the more sweet, and memories stick more permanently. Harvesting your own lavender can also be intended to honour Lammas, too!
1. Mix everything in a bowl and preheat the oven at 350 F. 2. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead adding more flour until it’s no longer sticky and has formed a nice stretchy bread dough. 3. Put into a floured loaf tin. 4. Brush top with egg wash. 5. Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes until a golden crust has formed and a skewer comes out clean. 6. Slice and enjoy!

Sugar // to sweeten your life
Black tea // for grounding & strength
Chamomile // calming & positivity
Calendula // happiness & strengthening the heart
Clear quartz // happiness & strength
// Best done on a new or full moon , Tuesday or Sunday.
How to dispose of //
After you feel the spell has done it’s job , you can choose to recharge it or dispose of it, which ever feels right to you. In this example we will be disposing of it.
Sit with your spell & tell it how thankful you are for it’s assistance , this is where you say farewell.
Thank every ingredient for its properties & let them know their work for you is done.
Release the ingredients outside , preferably in the wind or via burying.
You can keep & cleanse your jar with smoke or running water. This can also be done for the stones.
// I prefer to keep my jars to prevent waste & as a reminder of the positive work it has done for me , of course your practice may be different so take the steps that you find appropriate.

Let’s make sigils
• Let’s talk basics , A sigil is an intention that is condensed into a single glyph. They are a useful magic form because they are coded with your unique purpose and can be deciphered only by you, allowing your intention to remain a secret as the universe works to align and deliver your desire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 1. Write your intention , this is best done using present tense. As you’re writing your intention , it can greatly help to imagine your intention is already happening , feel all the emotions as if it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 2. Looking at the intention you have written down, erase or cross out all of the vowels and any letters that repeat, leaving only one of each consonant from the original sentence.
Step 3. Take the remaining letters, in order write them down as your new word.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 4. Write 1-9 in a circle at random, the more random this is , the better you mind can focus on the intent & not the shape.
Step 5. Find the number the correlates to the first letter , then the second & draw a line in your number circle to connect them. From there go to the next letter & so on.
Tumblr media
Sigils can be as complex or as simple as you want , all that matters is you know the meaning . .
Tumblr media
Feel free to use this sheet . . .
Now that you know how to create your own sigils , You can really let your imagination go wild with ways to use sigils , below I’ll list my most common uses.
• Spell additives / Seal
• Book of shadow / Gremiore seals
• Mirror / Window warding
• Handmade charms
• Kitchen magick ( add to bread , meats , vegetables )
• Candle magick ( most commonly wrote on the glass of 7 day candles )
