i used to not like raven when i first watched the show cause i never liked how she was judgmental and acted like she was a saint. but rewatching the show made me realise that this poor girl risked her life to come to earth in a pod she repaired with her bare hands only to find out that her boyfriend - the guy she fell through space for - had cheated on her and she ended up leaving him because he would never love her the way she deserved, was shot and had to have the bullet removed from her spine with no anesthesia, had to watch the boy she loved and grew up with get killed right in front of her so he wouldn’t get tortured to death, was then tortured herself for a crime she didn’t commit, had her mind taken over and almost killed herself for the ai in her brain, had six years of peace with people she loved only to come back to violence, suffered with ideas about morality and guilt and grief and never once got a break because she lost everyone she ever loved.

like that scene with clarke where she first lands on earth and spins while breathing in the air and then later on she’s playing with the flowers???

that’s so heartbreaking because she never wanted the brutality of earth and she wasn’t prepared for it - and none of them were and it broke them all.

excuse me i'm just going to keep being delusional in my corner and asking the question what if the 100 kept its main characters as the trio of clarke, bellamy and raven????

bellamy and clarke being the tired parents of the 100 and raven being the wine aunt who teaches them how to shoot guns.

nina zenik is one of my favourite characters in the history of ever and this fandom neglects her too much.

sometimes i pick up six of crows in the mood for a reread and then just start internally crying for half an hour cause what do you mean wylan doesn’t get a pov until book 2????

makes me feral to remember that inej ghafa got her happy ending by reuniting with her parents and getting her own ship to enact her justice to make sure no one was ever hurt like she was again. and then it cuts to the epilogue where pekka rollins - who was gaslit into believing his son had been buried alive by kaz brekker - has his heart almost cut out by her as she threatens him to never come back to ketterdam.

sometimes it hurts me to remember that's s2 of s&b completely disregarded inej’s arc. because her biggest fear wasn’t that kaz and her couldn’t fall in love or touch - it was that she was afraid to become useless to him, afraid of what her parents would think of her, of what she though of herself, of what she wanted. and then they just wrote her off on somebody else’s ship when kaz was the one who bought that ship for her, the ship that she was captain off, that she used to hunt slavers so nobody would be hurt like she was right after kaz reunited her with her parents.

and matthias would have been one of those scarily tall teenagers with a wolf-dog hybrid that scares the shit out of everyone, has a military buzz cut, and who looked like he was a hairsbreadth away from committing murder (but inside he's just bored of everyone's shit and daydreaming about nina and missing his dog.)

somedays i just sit there and remember that kaz would have been an emo teenage boy from a farm in the first year of college if he was in the modern world.

love when someone asks you to define a word and you just waffle until they start writing, nod along and go yeah, yeah, thanks and then you either sit back thinking you're a genius while they look at you like you're the biggest dumbass of the century or you look at yourself like your the biggest dumbass of the century and they don't give a shit.

okay but the 100 could have been so epic if s3 had covered that three month span after s2 and actually expanded on grounder culture and shown how arkadia formed - and then every so often it would cut to jaha doing stuff for alie, murphy trapped in his bunker and clarke just stalking through the woods, slowly losing it - and it could end with that rover scene because we deserved one season that ended on a happy note.

but THENNN an entire season could have also been spent on the six year time jump - which would give the characters much more time to develop and show how they all bonded together. imagine if we had a whole season to show clarke and madi growing close, to show clarke slowly adjust to how different everything is now and get used to being apart of a happy little family. imagine if we had a whole season to see octavia become blodreina, to watch each decision take its toll on her and see her go more and more dark until she makes a choice she doesn’t think she can come back from. imagine seeing spacekru adjust to being at peace for the first time ever, imagine them being a bunch of idiots doing random shit for fun because they have the time and the freedom for once.

my favourite part of the s&b cancellation is that netflix has lost custody of my children - because what they did to inej ghafa hurt.

don’t get me wrong i live for the “i would come for you” quote in crooked kingdom, but kanej just have so many good quotes that are just so sad and so wonderful and sometimes funny. like “one minute he made her BLUSH and the next he made her want to commit murder.” and “it was as if once kaz has seen her, he’d understood how to KEEP SEEING HER.” and “i can hear the change in kaz’s breathing when he looks at you . . . it CATCHES every time, like he’s NEVER SEEN YOU BEFORE.” and “that she was LOVELY AND BRAVE and better than anything he deserved. that he was TWISTED, CROOKED, WRONG, but not so broken that he couldn't pull himself together into some semblance of a man FOR HER.” and “but they TRIED. he tried. MAYBE they could try AGAIN.” and “that’s the laugh.” and “what do you WANT, then? . . . but a different reply roared to life inside him, loud, insistent, and unwelcome. YOU, INEJ. YOU.” and “give me a reason to STAY. for all his selfishness and cruelty, kaz was still THE BOY WHO HAD SAVED HER. she wanted to believe he was WORTH SAVING too.”

there’s something just so heartbreaking about tragic lovers. two people who want to be together, who love each other more than anything, but just can’t say it. because of their duties and their responsibilities and even their own fears. a happy ending isn’t in their cards, and yet they fight for one anyway.
