Silly doodles of the silly boys!! I have two art WIPs of them, which probably won't be done for a while, but stay tuned for that I guess!! (My favorite one of these is the bottom right where Shouto kisses Izuku's forehead <3)

part of my job as archivist for a LGBTQ center involves working with an interviewing elder queers, and the disconnect between our generation and theirs is so upsettingly palpable. so many young queers think that elders aren't up-to-date on identity politics and are "set in their ways" when it comes to understanding the nuances of gender and sexuality, but that is so incredibly far from the truth.
if anything, the real problem is in the reverse. young queers aren't giving the time of day to our elders and its only alienating all of us from our shared history. just about every elder I've spoken to is doing their best to understand how our identity politics have evolved and is actively supportive of our generation adding our language and experiences to our sprawling rainbow tapestry.
there is also this strange idea that elder queers no longer contribute to that tapestry, that their time is gone and its only the youth making progress. but again, that prevailing idea is just alienating our generations from one another. most elders I've spoken to are extremely active in the community and work hard to do what they can to preserve our histories and assist in current activism.
the fact of the matter is that we are losing our elders, both to time and estrangement, and it is critical that we make conscious efforts to bridge the gap before its too late.
TLDR: We have to do better when it comes to including queer elders in our current activism. They are our history, they are our family, and we need to give them the same love they give to us.
#this is important#i cant explain the joy i feel whenever i see or even get to interact with elder queers#sometimes the world feels so hopeless but look. there is someone who has survived. someone who has made through this bullshit#someone who has seen and been through things I could never imagine. witnessed this shit tenfold. there they are and they are thriving!!!#older queers are so important for our community and i feel us younglings often lose sight of them#they have so much wisdom to give. so many stories to tell. so much to teach and so much that they keep fighting for#idk i'm kinda rambling i think but the point is to stop this gap from growing!! try to shrink it!! talk to your elders they know a lot#more than you think!!!#queer#lgbtq#pride

Thank you The Owl House. Thank you for everything.
I find it strangely fitting that an eclipse is happening on the first year anniversary of the last episode!
I cannot explain how much this series has impacted my life. How it has made me laugh and cry and smile so much. I did join in late on the party - started watching mid April to May of 2022, but even then it still holds a beyond special place in my heart.
The characters feel more real to me than they do in any other media I have consumed - even one with less screen time feel like a person. And that's part of what makes the whole series so lovable, that you can really connect with the characters! The weirdos are a found family I adore because you can so clearly see their progression from outcasted strangers to family. Same with the hexsquad!
The story is so engaging, the way they go about developing the characters and fighting Belos' rule kept me wanting to see what happened next. And after Kings Tide, when they end up in the human realm?? I was losing my shit. I hadn't had a story make me feel like that in a while.
This show revived my utter love of witches and magic; when I was 9, my dream was to be a witch, which was partly fueled by Little Witch Academia. Obviously that career isn't quite accessible to say the least, but it made me so happy designing my witchsona and pretending to cast spells. This show brought back some of that to me, and I can't say I haven't spent a good amount of time doodling glyphs!
When Watching and Dreaming released, I went into it thinking I wouldn't cry much. Not even 2 minutes in, I started sobbing and did not stop crying till 15 minutes AFTER I finished the episode. Many people have criticisms of the final episode, but to me, it is absolutely perfect.
Most of this was just rambles about some main things I love about this show; I could go into much more but I'll end it here. I plan to post some fanart later, but for now, thanks for reading and thank you once again, TOH.

In a show filled with witches and demons, my favorites turned out to be the sad humans who only wanted to find some semblance of home. :,)
The Requiem cafe had a voice actor panel the other day and through some divine intervention (my classmate) I got a ticket.
I knew Dana was gonna be there and I wanted to draw something special to show my thanks in case I got to meet her. I thought about what I loved most about the show and it came down to these dudes :,)
I didn’t have a lot of time to finish this bc of school and unfortunately, I have the motor skills of a used tissue so I was not able to get it finished and printed on time <3333
But low and behold I did end up meeting them and getting my art signed, just not the one I planned lol <333

Hunter has a mom and a dad who don't know each other and an evil uncle who is also kind of his dad and his younger brother. King has a mom & a dad who is also his mom and the country he lives in. Hunter is technically Eda and Lilith's biological ancestor. Eberwolf is there. what is not clicking.
