I should probably be upset about the "savemyboycole" situation, considering the issue's ugly root, but let's be honest, the whole thing has been hysterical. XD

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (5)
Alternatively… This is a little painful to say, considering the amount of thought that went into those bejewelled guys, but another idea I’ve been having as of late would be to discard the Jewels, and have Mulciber’s magical automatons be based on the arcana of the tarot (the major ones, chiefly). It’s rather hard to explain, but I suddenly thought about it, and now I cannot help but feel like it’d be a better, more cohesive direction. Also, I must admit that I’ve been a bit unsure about the Jewels lately. I don’t know, but there are so many beautiful gemstones I’d like to draw inspiration from… I kind of feel like the whole thing’s got a little messy and out of hand, if you see what I mean. So it may be a good idea to limit myself in such a way. Besides, it would allow me to do my thing without having to feel conflicted about the fact that Origins already introduced gemstone-themed enemies (I still have heavily mixed feelings about Bayonetta 3’s additions to the continuity, but there is no denying that I’m actually quite fond of the Fairies, so I don’t really feel like ignoring them altogether)…
Of course, even though I used the word "discard", it goes without saying that I would still be recycling a lot of my initial ideas, such as them being made of holy metal and powered by an infernal flame. That’s pretty much the foundation of the entire thing… Likewise, plenty of the new models would serve the same purpose as their bejewelled predecessors. The "World" units would naturally take the place of the Diamonds as the ultimate automatons, for example. The "Lovers" could replace the Rhodonites and serve as bodyguards for the town's sex workers, while the "Temperances"* would be tasked with keeping peace and order in Pandæmonium as a whole. Granted, there are also plenty of Jewels I’m really attached to - like the Turquoises, the Aquamarines, or the Labradorites - for which I’m not sure they’ll be a suitable substitute. But then again, everything I’m talking about is hypothetical to begin with. So it’s not as if there was something preventing me from exploring another direction, and backtracking if the result doesn’t please me. XD Anyway, I’ve just started to consider the idea, so I don’t have much more to say about it for the time being, but still, stay tuned !
* It’s actually quite funny to note that three of the major arcana - Justice, Strength and Temperance - are named after cardinal virtues. I don’t know if I really want to draw attention to this fact in-universe, but now I have this amusing image in mind, of the three Theological Virtues commissioning those models as a dig to the other Auditio not living up to their names. I mean, even impossibly ancient and powerful angels are allowed to be petty from time to time. :3 Although it does raise the question : why is there not a card named after the virtue of Prudence… ?
And we’ve covered pretty much everything I wanted to share with you this time around. I don’t think I have anything to add, but once again, I hope that you found the content of this post somewhat interesting. Don’t hesitate to comment if there is something you’d like to say about my characters and attempts ar worldbuilding ; I’d be more than happy to hear you out. ^_^ Without further ado, I thank you all for your attention. Take care, everybody, until we meet again. ;)

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (4-C)
In regards to the Jewels… again³ :
- Heliodor, the crystalline gift of the Sun : This one is among the gems I really, really want to include, but the concept I have in mind still feels way too weak. My initial vision was for this model to have been expressly commissioned by Apollonia to help provide Glitnir’s luxuriant plant life with all the warm and soft light it needs to thrive. Gifted with the radiant power of the Sun, they would also make for surprisingly tough opponents, being able to manipulate light in plenty of dangerous ways. I was also thinking they could be designed to look like fireflies, fluttering gracefully around the town’s elegant gardens… But then again, I still feel like their initial purpose is not strong enough to justify the model’s existence, especially when one considers that a good part of Glitnir’s population, being angels, already possesses light powers… - Ethereal Observer - Larimar, the stone of clear and tranquil horizons : A small and lively model, gifted with the ability to fly and the power of communication. As such, they serve as scouts, watching from the sky and raising the alarm if they spot something suspicious. Their powers also allow them to be used as communication tools, so it’s common for the siblings and their friends to take one with them when they have to go somewhere without the others. Their magical nature makes them much more potent and reliable than phones… I also envision they would possess a slight power over water, allowing them to manipulate fog and clouds. Not an extraordinarily useful ability in battle, but it allow them to confuse their foe while they wait for reinforcements… - Finally, here is a (non-exhaustive) list of the other gems I’d like to use : alexandrite, different types of chalcedony (sard, chrysoprase, heliotrope, agate, onyx), fluorite (the stone of a thousand hues), ivory (still not sure about this one), jacinth, jasper, malachite, peridot, serpentine, spinel, and tourmaline. I still don’t have anything substantial enough to say about those ones, but they are all so pretty…

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (4-B)
In regards to the Jewels… again² :
- Citrine : You’d think that a gem with such a strong identity, being the stone of merchants, would make for easy inspiration, but I have a surprisingly hard time coming up with something satisfying enough. Naturally, my main idea would have been for those guys to serve as bodyguards for the town’s various shopkeepers and business owners, ensuring their safety and maybe even escorting them when they have to leave the city to trade. But once again, a good chunk of those robotic soldiers is already dedicated to protection and the maintenance of order, so would they really need a new model to handle this task ? - Cymophane (Cat’s-eye), the stone of perspicacity and watchfulness, and Tiger’s-eye, the stone of heated battles : I’m still not sure if I really want to include those guys, but my first idea would have been for them to be special models expressly designed to fight in the coliseum. After all, there are plenty of tales about gladiators having to prove themselves against fearsome beasts. Naturally, the Tiger’s-eye units would be modelled after ferocious tigers (with maybe some smilodon thrown into the mix), while the Cymophanes would probably look like noble lions (or even manticores). I also like to think the former would favour brute force, while the latter would be more oriented towards magic and agility, but once again, this is all hypothetical… (Note that despite their names, they probably wouldn’t have gemstones for eyes. Because let’s be honest, it’d be a little silly… XD ) - Garnet*, the stone of vigour and determination : A robust and bulky model, well known for its vast strength. While they can be mobilized to assist in the defence of Glitnir, their main role is to help the townspeople with physical labour, such as heavy lifting, earthwork, and all in all, anything that requires an ungodly amount of force. Some of them are also equipped with giant war hammers (even though their fists are probably just as effective and dangerous). By striking the ground, they can even create sharp stone pillars to pierce their foes ! * Since my first exposure to the stone was the Garnet Star from Paper Mario : The Thousand-Year Door, I tend to associate it with a shade of deep orange, which would probably correspond to the hessonite variety. I don’t really feel like having a different model for each type of garnet, so keep in mind it’s this specific colour I think of when I talk about those guys…

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (4-A)
In regards to the Jewels… again : As I mentioned in the last addendum, there are still plenty of gemstones I’d like to use as the base for one of those bejewelled automatons. I must admit, though, that I have quite a hard time coming with an interesting concept for most of them. I do have some ideas for them as video game enemies, but I kind of fail to find a more organic way to justify their existence, lore-wise. Who knows, maybe talking with you will help me come up with something. Of course, those ideas are still pretty vague, so I’ll be much more succinct than last time, but still, it should give you a pretty solid vision of what I have in mind. XD Before we delve into the different models I thought about, though, here is a little detail I’d like to mention in regards to the Jewels as a whole. Since they are powered by an infernal flame, it occurred to me that it would be neat if the pale grey metal used to make their armours was coming from Paradiso. One can imagine that, long before the foundation of Glitnir, Mulciber managed to come into possession of some of this sacred metal, and used it to craft the first prototypes. Then, after allying himself with Apollonia and her angelic partners, he finally got access to a steady source of divine ore, which allowed him to really go wild and improve on the original idea. That being said, I’m still not sure about the exact nature of this metal. I was thinking about having it be known as "holy silver", since said metal is often regarded as a religious symbol of purity, but "holy platinum" could work too, as it symbolizes radiant excellence… Either way, I thought it’d make for a fun little piece of lore. Now, with that being said, let’s take a look at the new models I’ve been working on. - Aventurine, the stone of audacious gambles : Since aventurine is regarded as a lucky charm for gamblers, my first idea was naturally for those units to serve as security for the various casinos of Pandæmonium. Thing is, I’m not sure it’s a specific enough task to justify the need of an entirely new model to handle it, if you see what I mean. As is often the case, I’m probably trying to see a problem where there is none. I mean, if I want thematically-appropriate robots to guard my casinos, who’s going to stop me ? XD (Funnily enough, I feel like this reasoning wouldn't even be out of character for the two siblings…) Still, I cannot help but feel like the idea is missing something. Anyway, it goes without saying that their fighting style would revolve heavily around luck, with critical hits that can do a lot of damage (or almost nothing at all) and spells with random - but possibly devastating - effects… Also, since aventurine just so happens to be green, I like to think that some of the stones adorning their armours would be cut and arranged to look like four-leaf clovers… - Bixbite*, the crimson stone of timeliness : Since this stone is supposed to encourage you to wait for the right time to do something, my idea was for this model to have time powers. From an out-of-universe perspective, I like to think they’d have the power to mess with the Witch Time ability (after all, said ability is all about timing), but once again, I have quite a hard time finding a strong enough reason to justify the need for such a talent in the Jewels’ ranks… * I know this name is outdated, and that its official designation is "red beryl", but I think it’d stick out like a sore thumb to have it named as such when all the other beryls get to have fancy names. Besides, it’s not as if I was planning on having a Jewel based on bixbyite, so there’s no risk of confusing the two…

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (3-B)
About Pandæmonium, second service :
- Belphegor’s Balmy Bathhouse. Modelled after an onsen, this establishment is dedicated to the relaxation of both body and mind. Between its hot springs and massage parlour, it has everything one might need to escape from the stress of everyday life. So dip into the water, and let your worries wash away. Trust me, once you’ve crossed the doors of this establishment, the world could burn down around you, and you wouldn’t even care… - Mammon’s Palace. A luxurious casino. Do I have to say more ? Naturally, the player would be invited to try out the slot machines and various card games in order to amass enough chips to buy precious items, like upgrades or materials needed to unlock new weapons… - The buried gardens. Certain sections of the cave system are also home to a rich and thriving vegetation (probably due to the abundant magical energy that permeates the place). Thanks to the valiant efforts of Apollonia and her army of horticulturists, those parts of the caverns now serve as elegant public gardens where the residents of Pandæmonium are free to enjoy the peaceful and unexpected beauty of nature. (I’m still on the fence about it, but the most "important" of those subterranean parks would probably be named "Lilith's Garden". Moreover, it goes without saying that Greenpath and the Queen’s Garden from Hollow Knight were major influences when it comes to these underground oases. :3 ) - Speaking of Hollow Knight, I like to think that some parts of the caverns would be connected by the same kind of tramway one can find in the depths of Hallownest, with carriages hanging high above the caves’ yawning expanses or travelling over the stillness of an underground lake… - Naturally, the place bearing Asmodeus’ name would be one of the finest brothels in the underground district. I’m still not sure about the exact name ("the House of Asmodeus" would have been perfect, but it's already taken XD ), but one can imagine it’d also double as a burlesque cabaret, mixing a classy décor and a cheerful atmosphere (think of the Maison Derrière in The Simpsons :p ). All in all, a place that celebrates lust and sensuality in their most liberating and playful forms. And that’s pretty much everything I have for now. As you can see, I don’t have any idea regarding the two locations named after Lucifer and Leviathan. As a joke, I was considering giving the latter’s name to an optician’s shop, since envy, the green-eyed monster, consists in looking at what others possess with both covetousness and resentment - not to mention that glasses are omnipresent in the Bayonetta series -, but once again, I was just joking around. XD

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (3-A)
(I spoke too soon. There'll probably be seven parts in total...)
About Pandæmonium and its various places of interest : I’ve also been thinking about the different establishments one can find in the depths of Pandæmonium. It’s not much, but here is a little list of what I came up with so far. Notably, I like to think that there would be seven particular locations named after the demon lords of the deadly sins*. Not that there’d be an intentional connection between those seven places in-universe, but I thought it’d be neat. Anyway, allow me to introduce some of my ideas : - The Root of All Evil. I already told you about this one, but just for the record, it’s a bar that sits in a corner of the caverns filled with roots (which means it’d probably be located in the upper parts of Pandæmonium, still pretty close to the surface). They serve one wicked root beer. - Satan’s Pit. A coliseum, located in a fiery part of the underground, that hosts all manner of fierce competitions. Warriors come from all four corners of the three realms to prove their worth before the arena’s roaring crowd. For the spectators, it’s the occasion to feast their eyes on gloriously violent feats, as well as unorthodox strategies and partnerships, such as a Joy angel teaming up with a Pride demon (get it ? Pride and Joy ? :3 ). Don’t get the wrong idea, though : this is Glitnir we are talking about, so you’ll rarely see anything die in this pit… except maybe for the egos of the defeated… (Visually, I like to picture the arena as a stone platform surrounded by burning moats, but you were probably expecting it. XD ) - Beelzebub Row. A festive alley, modelled after a yokochô, you know, those streets in Japan lined with izakaya (bars) and tiny restaurants. With all the different flavours it has to offer, this place is a true culinary hotspot. You could dine here every day, and never eat the same thing twice. - Hell’s Kitchen. One of Pandæmonium's most renowned restaurants. Don’t worry, none of the dishes contains human flesh. In fact, the establishment specializes in Infernal cuisine, so they barely use any ingredient from the human world. If you ever wondered what demons eat in the depths of Hell, this is the place for you. Be careful, though : they make sure that their food is edible to all, even humans and angels, but their recipes are still quite… spicy.
* I’m sure that most of you already know them, especially if you’re also fan of a certain series about impish assassins, but just in case, they are : Lucifer (pride), Leviathan (envy), Satan (wrath), Belphegor (sloth), Mammon (greed), Beelzebub (gluttony), and Asmodeus (lust). Note that like with everything mythological, there’ve been many takes on the hierarchy of Hell over the centuries. Still, this one seems to be the most popular…

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (2)
Sun Wukong, Sovereign of Mischief : - Alternatively : Sovereign of Mayhem - It may come as no surprise, but I’m quite fond of the Lego Monkie Kid series. And it occurred to me not so long ago that it would be pretty neat to reimagine the Monkey King as a Bayonetta demon. So here we are. - As you might guess, he is one of Máni’s demonic buddies - A thrill seeker with a cocky, feisty temper. Will never back down from a challenge or a fight. - Still, as far as demons go, he is a pretty chill dude, although it should be noted that he is exceptionally proud, and will not take lightly to being cheated or disrespected. Earn his trust, on the other hand, and he will gladly go to war and turn the world upside down for you… - He likes to fancy himself as a big bro figure and mentor to Máni. He’ll never admit it, but he is actually a little jealous that his boy’s pact is with Baphomet and not him. - If you gather the materials that Mulciber needs to craft the weapon, the mighty demon will allow his soul and powers to be imbued into one of the blacksmith’s creations. Modelled after the Monkey King’s own weapon, this new addition to Máni’s arsenal would be a martial staff that I like to call the "Simian Sceptre". - Of course, this is the Bayonetta franchise we’re talking about, so you can easily imagine what it looks like when Máni wields this staff (I’d even be tempted to say, this pole :3 ) on the battlefield… - He’d probably have his own domain too, accessible through one of the various portal gates in Glitnir, although I must say that I have two different visions regarding what said domain could look like. Naturally, it’d be based on the mythical "Mountain of Flowers and Fruits", the territory Sun Wukong is said to reign over. But as you’ll certainly agree, such a name is more evocative of the lush and luminous horizons of Paradiso, than of the Infernal depths. So my first idea would have been for it to be a piece of the angelic realm that the simian demon somehow managed to claim for himself, which would fit pretty well with the Monkey King’s character as a rebellious and spirited troublemaker. On the other hand, I kind of feel like a twisted, demonic interpretation of such an idyllic place could make for a very interesting setting. Really, each direction seems to bring something interesting to the table, so I don’t really know how to make up my mind. As the poet would say, between the two, my heart is torn…

Bayonetta 69 - Addendum 3 (1)
(Tumblr is being stubbornly uncooperative right now, so I had to split up this addendum. There should be five parts in total, so make sure to read them all. :p )
Hell-o everybody ! I hope you’re doing well. It’s been quite a while now since I last talk to you about my Bayonetta OCs, so I thought it’d be nice to write down and share some of the new ideas Ive had regarding those characters. Since it isn’t really a fanfic, I guess it’d be more accurate to call what I’m doing here "fan-worldbuilding". XD As always, this is mostly a collection of unsorted tidbits and ideas I’m still not sure about, but I hope you’ll still find it somewhat interesting. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what I have in store this time around. Starting with…
Miscellaneous notes : - I don’t think this one would factor into the game’s plot (more like a little piece of lore you learn about in the description of some collectible or by talking to NPCs), but I like to imagine that one of the city’s most highly anticipated celebrations would be Glitnir’s Carnival. Spiritually, I think it’s a festival that’d resonate pretty well with the Glitnirian way of life. As a time of indulgence before the solemnity of the fast, it encourages self-examination and repentance but still invites us to enjoy life. Since the town’s philosophy is all about balance, it feels like it’d fit. Naturally, Carnival would be the occasion for the lighthearted debauchery of Pandæmonium to take over the serene streets of the surface, all the while a meditative silence would fill the caverns of the underground pleasure district. And since celebrating Carnival often involves the idea of turning the usual order of things upside down, I like to think that it’d be tradition for Máni and Apollonia to take part in the festivities dressed as a member of their opposite clan (that is to say, Máni dressed as a Lumen Sage, and Apollonia dressed as an Umbra Witch). Whether they play the part straight or put their own, unique twist on the costumes varies from year to year… - Since I conceived him as both a demon overlord and a rock star, I like to think that Belial’s royal abode - which doubles as his wicked concert venue - would be known as the "Hall of Carnage". :3 (I thought I was being clever with this one, until I remembered that Rock and Rule already made that pun. Still, it was too perfect for me to pass up…) - Speaking of Belial’s domain, I like to think that it’s located somewhere on the Styx, the infernal river that inspired the name of a certain rock band. :3 Of course, one can imagine it’d lead to a rivalry with Madama Styx, the demoness Jeanne made her pact with, which is actually quite fitting since my idea would have been for Belial and his bandmates to feature more prominently in Jeanne’s campaign. Visually, I like to think of the Styx as a "dark river". That is to say, a river whose water would be literally black, or filled with a tenebrous substance similar to the one found at the bottom of the Abyss in Hollow Knight. Alternatively, I was also considering the idea of it being a river of petroleum, or even a river of tar, but once again, I’m just brainstorming. Who knows, maybe we’ll get to see what it actually looks like in a future installment… - In regards to Apollonia’s animal forms, you may recall that I had trouble making up my mind regarding what her equivalent to the Bat Within would be. Well, after deliberation, I think I’ll opt for the Hummingbird. Ladybugs are adorable, but I feel like hummingbirds resonate better with Apollonia’s character. And to be even more precise, I like to think that her animal form would be specifically based on the Marvelous Spatuletail hummingbird. I mean, look at those exquisite little things ! (Still have no clue regarding her equivalent to the Crow Within, though…*) * Maybe the Secretarybird (Sagittarius serpentarius). They have such an elegant silhouette, and their crest can even bring the Sun to mind. Also, Lumen Sages are often associated with stars as a whole, so a bird bearing the name of a constellation would be all the more fitting…

You know that phrase that people like to utter when something horrible happens that makes you doubt there really is an all-loving god at the helm ? "The ways of the Lord are inscrutable", or something along the lines… Well, it just hit me, but Hazbin Hotel is basically that phrase carried to its logical conclusion. Nobody has the foggiest idea what is going on and why things happen the way they do, not even Heaven's higher-ups… Note that this idea already existed as far back as the Divine Comedy : "Even Heaven's most enlightened soul - that Seraph with his eye most set on God - could not provide the why, not satisfy what you have asked. For deep in the abyss of the Eternal Ordinance, it is cut off from all created beings' vision."* But even then, it seemed like the angels had a pretty solid understanding of the main lines. In HH, everybody is just desperately trying to figure out the rules of the game they are playing, as if God created the world and then went to take a nap without telling anybody how it works. XD
* I took some liberties with the layout and punctuation for the sake of readability, but you got the gist.

Oooh, that's pretty neat. I love this kind of "multi-layered" cities. Not so sure about the geographical placement, though. It'd feel a little too close to Tarrey Town, if that makes any sense. (Assuming that you want to keep them relatively close to Eldin, I would suggest to have the surface part of the settlement be located where the Foothill Stable currently stands. Since the poor thing was rendered obsolete by the new roads that opened southwest of Death Mountain, I feel like it'd be nice to revitalize the place by turning it into a lair for treasure hunters of all kind... But then again, this is just a suggestion. :p )
I was in the Tabantha snowfield, trying to take a nice picture of an ice Gleeok (not to be confused with an ice picture of a nice Gleeok :p ), when I saw the poor thing get hit in the head(s) by one of those boulders that keep falling from the sky islands. That was hilarious.
(By the way, I was telling myself last night, but wouldn’t it have been nice if they had taken the opportunity to reintroduce the Mogma ? I mean, the game borrows heavily from Skyward Sword already, and underground exploration plays an important part in this new adventure. It could have been fun to have these guys show up around the Depths with their snazzy theme song, to share treasure hunting tips with Link and offer anecdotes about this new realm. A friendly presence in the unfathomable darkness. Admittedly, I have quite a big soft spot for those goobers, so my opinion on the matter might be a little biased, but still, I think they would have made for a neat addition… XD )

Haha, well, I don't really know anything about the sociocultural specificities of New York's different neighbourhoods, but they certainly give off a "friendly gangsters" vibe. Or more accurately, they try to pass off as cool and/or intimidating gangsters, yet cannot help but act as friendly goobers. XD
Also, now that I think about it, I'm actually quite surprised that in a game filled to the brim with little nods to the franchise's past entries, we didn't get any reference to the Snowpeak Ruins...

Now that I think about it, a pink-haired troll named Floyd in love with a rocker ? Did it start out as a reference to this band ?
I'm currently hyperfixating on the Trolls movies, and I must say, I don't know who came up with the idea of pairing Floyd with Riff, but fluffy heavens, let me tell you that you have all my gratitude.

Now that I think about it, I'd rather them keep the Torchic line for a Legends game set in Paldea, because a regional variant based on the Rooster of Barcelos could actually be pretty neat.
I've seen people speculate about who the starter Pokémon for Z-A are going to be, and it seems like Piplup, Snivy and to a lesser extent Torchic are the most commonly-agreed candidates, as they all pertain to French culture in one way or another. But honestly, I'd rather them not use any of those three. I mean, what is the point of making a French version of something that is already French-themed to begin with...

Not that I disagree with you, but it should be noted that Stolas did say "I've been meaning to follow up on our last little conversation regarding my grimoire", implying that it wasn't actually the first time he tried to talk with Blitz about the book.
I’m gonna also say. The Stolas button. I do not understand the interpretation of the Stolas button.
Everyone jokes or uses it as evidence that Blitzo is uncomfortable or something and chalk it up to Stolas’s over the top dirty talk and most seem to forget that the button is present pre-grimoire deal. So really what has happened up to that point is Blitzø stole a magical artifact from an Ars Goetia and they haven’t yet reached a conclusion on the book. Blitzo has been using it for an unspecified amount of time and considering their conversation when he’s running from the Murder Mom it’s their first time talking about it.
So yeah I view the button more as “the powerful demon prince that I STOLE from might stop by please save me from his wrath” not, “the horny bird I fucked might show up please save me from his horniness”.
Like maybe it was intended that way by the creators but solely looking at the information given to the audience in episode 1 and then reinforced in S2 the first one makes way more sense with where they are in that point in time.
