First attempt at illustrating Puti Zushi, the great immortal and Sun Wukong’s first shifu! I’m still pretty fuzzy on how precisely his kind of teaching and spiritual stance--which I understand to be a combination of Taoism and Buddhism--works, but I hope I did an okay job on this imagination.

do you think if given the chance tianlang Jun would have been a good parent to luo binghe? In fics with su xiyan he is a great father or atleast a father who tries and has a somewhat healthy relationship with his son. But in canon would it have been possible if say zhushi Lang managed to come across luo binghe or lbh stumbled across the bailu lake or smth and lbh ends up being adopted again. Would he have a good or even healthy dynamic with these two? without a body and su xiyan to raise his son would tianlang Jun even try? or will he just attempt to get rid of lbh? What would lbh relationship with his cousin be? Im actually so curious for people's opinions so spam me <3

Note: Just a little Heroes drabble for my favorite polycule. I might turn it into a real story later but for now have this modern day everyone's happy and together snippet that I keep rereading whenever I remember how the show ended.
“You’re our sword,” Bai Choufei giggled, drunk, “Sheath, I mean sheath. You’re our sheath.”
Bai Choufei swayed into Wang Xiaoshi, before he steadied himself and went stumbling into Su Mengzhen. Su Mengzhen smiled fondly down at Bai Choufei.
“So many men hugging!” Wen Rou stated, pouting.
Wang Xiaoshi turned around and enveloped her in a hug. Her chest was softer than Bai Choufei’s, and he might be a little drunk himself. Wen Rou pushed him away and he let himself be pushed, worried for a moment, before he spotted her smile and she playfully shoved him. He playfully shoved her back.
Lei Chun rolled her eyes from where she was sitting at the kitchen table doing… something studiously, perhaps the only sober one, though with Su Mengzhen you really could never tell.
Wen Rou wandered off, distracted apparently by Lei Chun’s ‘perfectly shiny smooth hair’. Wang Xiaoshi watched her go, content.
“Sap,” Bai Choufei said from beside him and mustled up his hair. Wang Xiaoshi smiled up at him.

Wang Xiaoshi woke up slowly, head aching. He carefully extricated himself from Wen Rou’s arms and Bai Choufei’s legs, sliding out the end of the bed. Su Mengzhen and Lei Chun were both still surprisingly asleep, usually they got up before him, and they had perhaps been the most sober the night before.
He wandered into the kitchen and spotted Yang Wuxie in the kitchen. Yang Wuxie spotted him and poured him a large mug of tea from the teapot at his elbow and shook out an aspirin from the pill bottle next to it.
“Thanks Zhushi,” Wang Xiaoshi mumbled. Perhaps it was weird to call your boyfriend’s boyfriend’s boyfriend ‘advisor’, but the nickname had long since stuck. It was probably odder to have a bed that fit six (custom made), and a relationship so complicated it required flow charts anyways. “Ugh remind me not to get into a drinking contest with Wen Rou again.”
Yang Wuxie had the gal to laugh at that. “I think you’ll find I did. Last night.”
Wang Xiaoshi groaned. Every time.

“Custom Character (or CC) as the main protag in a Monkie Kid game” idea #10
(Loosely inspired by season 4... beware of accidental spoilers)
If the Custom Character was teleported from one world to the LMK world (probably from Lego City), they could have this typical old guy teacher- NOT Puti Zhushi- to teach them how to fight, how to use magic and/or how to control the powers of the spirit animal they have chosen.
Kind of like that starting level in the Ninjago movie game (yes, I have that; no, I haven't finished)

Hello there! Have you seen @llumetesdellums art interpretation of the JTTW gang? Their art is absolutely the opposite of yours, beautifully bright and not quite detailed but absolutely soft. Their JTTW art is just as terrifying as it is pretty though. Their caption about it is FASCINATING to read as well.
Also I'd like to ask, if a producer were to focus on SWK's learning period under Master Puti, what kind of xianxia series would you like it to be? Have you read @journeytothewestresearch story ideas for SWK? They're very INTERESTING

Oh yeah, I've seen @llumetesdellums's stuff! Pretty neat and deliciously terrifying interpretations of the JTTW crew for sure. And haha yeah is pretty cool how this story has been depicted in so many different ways in so many different art styles.
And yes, @journeytothewestresearch has come up with some cool ideas for everyone's favorite monkey! I did quite like his idea for why Puti Zushi ultimately exiled Sun Wukong. It definitely does make his motivations sound a little more reasonable and even tragic for both Patriarch Subodhi and the Monkey King than "you're gonna do evil. Now gtfo."
OUGH a xianxia focusing on SWK's period learning under Puti Zhushi does sound like it could be an interesting thing...tbh if done well I feel like such a project could be a MUCH needed alternative to the kind of relentless "dumb destructive monkey SWK" presentation that you see in western JTTW retellings lol. I also really like the idea of a xianxia that could be a fascinating and tragic combination of the more standard anime "I'm gonna be the very best!" story with revealing how and why SWK, with much of this development happening during his time as Puti Zhushi's tudi, changing from a relatively innocent though still frequently prideful and selfish monkey to the ruthless and practical yaoguai warlord that he became like...immediately after being exiled. That kind of change does not happen all at once, and I'd LOVE to know what he went through during those seven previous years that made SWK consider murder a perfectly acceptable answer to his problems. Now to the monkey's credit he tends to give his opponents a chance to take a whack at him before he ultimately steamrolls them, but still I could see all sorts of things from being teased or even reviled by his fellow tudi to the secret preferential treatment that Puti Zushi ultimately gave SWK until the exile or maybe even travels with Puti Zushi and getting to see what kinds of wars humans inflict on each other or even punishments the Jade Emperor meets out that could show how and why SWK developed the way he did under his powerful immortal teacher. I've said before that one of the things I really appreciate about SWK is his brutal honesty in all things. Him ultimately almost spitefully accepting Puti Zushi's statement that he's bound to do evil by becoming a warlord could be a cynical but practical response to learning about what kinds of violence other rulers unleash in the world and get away with, and at least his way SWK's using what he learned to protect his beloved family. At least until the war with heaven, of course.
