come with me, guys: we’ve got Rat Boy in Lucius, but we’ve also got Lucius being so called because he was playing the part of a terrier - a dog. we’ve got Ed referred to as a mad/wild dog who’s dealt with as such. we’ve got Hornigold inexplicably trailed by a pig (that’s what prompted this question for me - why is there a fucking pig at the beach?) the back of the Red Flag appears to be painted like a dragon. does Pinocchio actually make his wish on a monkey paw?? or is that a fun, silly little tidbit Jim added on their own?

and we’ve seen from the trailer that a rabbit is on its way, so.

someone who knows more about the zodiac and its qualities/meanings please weigh in and analyze the shit out of this with me. WHAT DOES IT MEAN. HAVE I CONNECTED ANY DOTS. ARE THESE EVEN DOTS AT ALL???

I love this show so much. Especially these kinds of interviews, where the interviewer so obviously is trying square peg questions and David is giving round hole answers.

dont get me wrong i didnt dislike s2 and i definitely think the biggest issue was the budget and cutting down on the episodes but. just everything about the female characters this season was. awful

FIRST we have anne and mary. yay crazy ladies in love amirite?? NO ! first of all. they only exist to bring stede and ed back together, to air out the dirty laundry. and ur telling me. that we have to watch anne and stede makeout but when it comes to mary and anne. they. HUG? like. come on. in a show dedicated to queer love we dont get to see the lesbian characters kiss?

and 2nd. spanish jackie. now i dont know if the republic of pirates has been destroyed or if the defeat of the english means jackie can rebuild her bar and maintain control but nevertheless. but either way jackie lost her bar, the republic of pirates, seemingly all her husbands except the swede and is now also just another member of the revenge crew.

and last. but god certainly not least. zhang yi sao. baby girl i am sooooooo sorry for what they did to u. she felt like when a writer trying to write a strong female character gives her the traits "badass" and "smart" and that is it. minor prince ricky gives her a clock for every single one of her ships and she doesnt question it or even throw them overboard just for being ugly. PIRATE QUEEN who BENT CHINA TO HER WILL with the LARGEST FLEET IN HISTORY. shes a warrior, a pirate, a tactition, and in the end shes reduced to a follower on stedes old ship. her entire fleet is bombed killing hundreds if not thousands of her crew (all asian women)!!!!!!! not a fan. genuinely not a fan. now she is also just a member of the revenge crew (i think?)

i understand the need for things to seem hopeless and for the british to be able to invade and have a leg up over the pirates but killing zhangs entire fleet was so incredibly unnecessary considering it was essentially just shock value so the finale could be intense.

AND!!!!!!!! with stede and ed retired, whos gonna captain the revenge???? zhang maybe?? most accomplished pirate probably ever? spanish jackie? another incredibly accomplished pirate who basically ran the republic of pirates? yeah that makes se- oh its frenchie actually? oh. ok.

i dont know, i just think theres certainly something to be said for a). the lack of female characters and b). the treatment of the mostly woc and lesbian characters that we DO have
