Skipped to the story section of Zeltik’s TOTK and yep there it is: that stupid “Zelda’s sacrifice being permanent would have made for a stronger story” argument. Never mind the fact that BOTW and TOTK are about HER story and character development.

“It’s debatable whether it would have been good for her character arc.” Then maybe don’t make it permanent?! Even the devs mentioned that her going to the past coincides with her wanting to decide on how to rule her kingdom. Goddamn, dude!

Gee, I wonder if Zelda meeting her ancestors and bonding with them like a family is important to her growth? It’s almost as if it’s a do over for her after her mom died and Rhoam forced to her to take a path that led to disaster.

Seriously people have been using Unreal Engine to make ocarina of time remakes for so long I was NOT expecting him to mention unreal engine when talking about this movie!!

Speed runners and crack gamers are going to have a field day with those new abilities. Considering they could do all sorts with stasis and magnesis in the first game, I can’t imagine the crazy ideas they’ll come up with for using fuse and ultra-hand. I think I’m just as excited for seeing them do that as I am in playing the game for myself.

Nintendo never fail to surprise me when it comes to gameplay originality and versatility. They’re KING!

not to beat a dead horse bc I know I've said this a thousand times already but totk sucked. there was nothing to work with after it ended. by this time in botw content circles it was ramping UP. it went for YEARS with elaborate theories and videos and an entire secondary canon built by theorists and fans. when was the last time you saw someone talk about totk? how much positive discussion have you seen about the story, ever? theories, world building, etc? anything at all?

Dumb realization but isn't the incarnation of the spirit of hero supposed to show up if an incarnation of Demise's hatred shows up? Isn't that what is said in the curse? Ganondorf showed up in the TOTK ancient past but an iteration of Link didn't?

Orrrr that curse doesn't always happen...?

I’m hoping that the dragons in TotK are nice and not all enemies, I mean it’s obvious that there is a major dragon motif with the Zonai and they’re obviously going to be a big part of the game but I really want Link to ride one like a loftwing.

Apart from all the other reasons to dislike him, one that personally annoys me about MatPat is that he made fan theories more serious than they were ever meant to be and god forbid you make your own theory about a game that conflicts with ones he's put out. His fans are quick to put out that ember before it could ever light a fire.

Thank god Toby Fox called him out on his own games and made MatPat stop making theories about Deltarune. Because now that game has some of the best theories out there and they're fun to entertain. I hope that Mystery Man is never expounded upon and Gaster has a completely different design just so even more theories are made for both and MatPat can't say shit about them.

Just learned the “fun” little lore fact that the music that plays during the Divine Beast boss fights includes morse code for “SOS”, frequently interpreted as the Champions’ last messages to the world.

Okay I’m confused about this

Hylian refers to the race of people who are descended from Hylia, aka Link and Zelda and everyone with pointed ears

Hyrulean refers to the people living in the confines of Hyrule, a nationality, which would encompass anyone including the zora, goron, etc

But I’ve only heard people exclusively refer to Hylians as Hyruleans, even in games like AOC??

Like it should be the Hylian royal family not the Hyrulean royal family because Hyrule has many rulers, including King Zora

Also Hyrulean sounds weird and harder to say idk why it’s so prevalently used to refer to just the people with pointed ears

It’s the Hylian shield bc it was made by Hylians, like how the Picori blade is made by the picori/Minish or the zora armor by the zora

I’m so confused is this just a bad localization thing that people picked up on or am I wrong?? I feel like I’m going crazy T-T
