today's spoils and leftover snacks!!!!
#i bought half these snacks for the cinema but i was so engrossed in the movie i only ate a few?#yumyums are the world#had a bit of a surreal validity moment in the new queer bookstore that shook me even tho i was super socially anxious#this is such a queer city#its all over the walls and floors and peoples bags and pins and the places feel so ....queer#its good to be back at my old haunts#some things change and some stay the same#being recognised as my gender felt very strange too since i havent got to socialise much since i came out cause it was after i got sick#i was anxious but i also felt seen in a big way that was kind of overwhelmingly warm#im not well enough to fully participate in functional society yet but i cant stay away from this city for too long#the city really does feel like home#they had like all the seven seas manga that's not published in the uk much rn i was struggling to choose there were so many out of my favs#but i decided to choose volume 1s of series i havent started yet that i was meaning to#had to tear myself away from the next two sequels to my lesbian experience w loneliness#i need to find them online or buy them i saw in the blurb the latest one deals with facing physical and mental illness#terrifyingly back to my buying physical copies of books era (at least volume 1s#the pepero was buy one get one free#and i have shiny fresh CHINESE HOT DOG BREAD#Its my fav#it got a bit smushed in my bag but the bakery is so good and full of fluffy big breads.....#like smth out of an anime....round and shiny and warm brown#anyway yumyums r the world and i had a real good day today

SMG3 opened his eyes, pitch black is seen around his view. No gap of light from Four's bare hands were shown, just him, and the sight of nothingness...
"Black, I see pitch black..." Three responds, trying to ignore how both of Four's hands are carefully covering his eyes. But he could feel that his hand was cold, a little rough coming from his scars that recovered during the incident.
"Now try to imagine... in a world filled with life. How would you describe your own?"

At this point, the man in purple started to cry. He couldn't handle it. The burden pain that had been ripping his heart, felt like he wanted to tear his skin.
Tried holding his tears, holding it all, keeping everything together.

He was weak, he made himself weak.
He held both of Four's wrist, the scars from his hands. Now same with his partner's.
He felt like he would melt in any second, not just because of what he'd realize behind what he had been shown.

Now everything... at his current... now had filled him with life, the meaning, the shine that brightens up from the gaps beyond the trees whenever he goes out of his cafe.
Taking himself for a walk and happens to see nature.. so peacefully here... so calm... so...
Quiet..
He wonders how Four could even do it... how he could explain everything about it than just using words. How this felt so simple for him to do.
Now there was Four. From his point of view, he saw his ex rival casually hanging around with his close friend Mario while him...
Standing behind the tall trees, sharing a peek with his red eyes. To witness an eye catching wonder of smg4 laughing, a sweet and adoring laugh.
Made the full view of orange turning to blue, his color.
It was beautiful... it made him feel things that mostly have been felt whenever he saw him happy.
He wish that he had that too...

Gaz with a massive sweet tooth that when he went out on dates with them for the first time, they gifted him some cookies they made, and boy, when he took a bite, he fell in love right then and there.
Yknow the saying abt how the quickest way to a man's heart (and my heart as well) is through their stomach? Well, Gaz just proved that right because the man is OBSESSED.
Will go on and on abt how his perfect baby cooks and bakes for him the best delicacies and spoils him rotten to the point that if he wasnt a soldier and had to stay in shape, all the sugar will def show in the form of him gaining some fat over his abs, but alas, your boy has to go and save the world (and burn calories while doing it).
The 141 are lowkey annoyed because he speaks so highly of his partners baking that they just get hungry everytime they hear their name, and keep giving shit to Gaz abt how he should let them eat some of the stuff his baby makes him, or at least take them home with him??? what the hell????
He also becomes so so picky with the stuff he eats outside now, he'll buy some Yumyums from Greggs and actually start telling his mates how his sweetheart makes them so much better.

I wonder What is Keronian Cusine like? And would keronians as a whole like earth foods?
ohhh nonny keronian cuisine is definitely something i need to go into deep deep thoughts about! i would say its not as developed as id like it to be, id love to draw out specific dishes and stuff.
the complicated fun of the cuisine of space faring species us the fact that they almost definitely brought over, or took inspiration from the foods of other planets, if demeed edible for a keronian. like how in america several dishes from other countries got modified into more "americanized" forms, as we as humans all have different ways of preparing our food to out tastes, which can also vary from region to region... this opens up the world of dishes from other countries within keron itself as well LOL. i need to think about that too!
but im running my mouth off. in my interpretations keronian diets started off as primarily insect-based, with fruit/plants as the secondary component (i know that there arent actually any herbivorous frogs on our earth, but since these guys are aliens i do loove playing around with their biology haha :-)) and then meat being thrown in a bit later on. kerons love for insects still goes strong - you can find them candied/carmalized, fried or breaded for more of the crunch factor, spiced or sweetened, however you like, larvae toasted or boiled (you can get a glimpse of one in my girodoro pmv - its a little lightly sweet tasting guy usually eaten at campfires. gross marshmallows for us humans) limbs of particularly large insects being sold as snacks (one of keroros disappointments when coming to earth was finding out just how small the average insect is there. i have a doodle somewhere. pekopon has fallen...) and insides being grinded up to a nice cream and such. thats a tadpole food mainly, but i dont see why grown keronians cant eat it!
you can imagine that being combined with fruit (well. vegetables too. the two blend together in my head due to the nature of being a Thing From Plant That You Eat) a plenty, i think plenty of bugs are fed with them before being prepared (iirc thats a thing that we do, people give their feeder insects vegetables for a more nutritous meal for their pet later on... its called gut loading!), which reminds me that i imagine zeroro being fed the healthiest, top-quality and absolutely fully sanitized and parasite-free bugs as a kid. hes got a rich as fuck family they couldve hired a private farm for all i know. its funny to think about. but coming back to plant stuff, i imagine juices and teas would be a hit as well, there is a doodle i posted a while (...about a year) ago that shows a tea made from glowing leaves from another glowing plant post that i made. the ziv stuff goes deep im sorry. ya think it stains tongues like those ice pops they sold back in the day? makes you think....
fruit alone just opens up so much for the world of baking. i dont like fruit in my pastries, but i definitely respect the grind. we put that stuff in everything in so many forms its kinda wild. just imagine all the cutesy designs that could be made for them...
in the anime, they are very much shown to like and eat earth foods, in fact i dont think a lot of alien food shows up other than like, these weird food monsters, burei cola aka kid friendly alcohol, the keron figs from kero zero (love them...) and the yumyum bars from a chibi kero episode that are like, just chocolate bars i believe? i could throw in some funny quirk to them myself i think....
i do recall them eating foods that are oretty much 1:1 to earths in chibikero? the lame side us that no one on the staff really thought about designing any cool space stuff for them to eat, but the cool side is that it can imply some importing from earth. ya think thete are some sellers who just casually work with aliens or is it a weird process of an alien disguising as human -> getting the foods -> getting them to their planet? i like to lean more towards the former since the earth in keroro gunso just really seems to have a bunch of weird connections to aliens outside of the main cast. most of them are from the past (the pyramids where sababa rests, all the kiruru ruins, the unknown human and keronian from the saburo and kururu episode where they fight the sound guy, and i think the kappa the ghost girl knew is implied to be a keronian... but i havent really watched those episodes) but i definitely dont doubt that they still have connections in the modern times. its a lot of fun to think about when it comes to interplanetary trade.
i always had just a biiit of beef with how keronians just settle in with earth foods and other things so casually, i really wish they were a bit more like irkens where plenty things that are ordinary to use pose harm to them. but also kg doesnt have the same gross aspect as iz does so i can understand why they didnt do that. no keroro getting horrid burns from baloney for me....
but oh my god i ran my mouth off. tdlr; i need to draw more frog food, which is mostly bugs, also yes they eat earth stuff and earth import sounds cool

More WanPre thoughts:
1) You know it shouldn’t SURPRISE me that Komugi came into the show already Little Mermaiding it, but huh.
2) Iroha: I like her! Good job establishing her as a character while simultaneously managing to ground her dog as our actual POV. That is genuinely impressive.
3) Our supporting cast setup! Good. We get enough of Satoru, Mayu, and Daifuku and Yuki to get a sense of character dynamics, which is impressive given Daifuku doesn’t really move. I like them all.
4) General note but the OP and fight scene both do a good job of selling human!Komugi’s body language and behavior in a very dog-like way. It shouldn’t surprise me that they decided to do a season where half the cast is pets in part because they felt confident they could do that, but: Nonetheless, I am impressed.
5) Yeah so it’s been a minute since we’ve had a non-duo season start out with a duo ending, right? Like… literally a decade, since the last example was Happiness Charge? So that suggests something about when Nyammy and Lillian are coming in, even relative to the slower rollout we got with Wing and Butterfly. (For that matter, Yumyum got into play fairly late for a trio season, but DePa had such a strong emphasis on Kome-kome and the supporting cast that I kinda get why… and also she still debuted as Yumyum an episode before Tsubasa was properly introduced, much less Butterfly.) Interesting.
6) Given we’ve had the Pretty Holic-associated Cure for a few seasons now, it’s nice to see that Mayu’s primary interest seems to be not just makeup or fashion but sewing specifically this time around. (Granted, Mashiro was basically the Pretty Holic-associated Cure last season and her interest turned into illustration, but: I like characters who are into sewing, says the fiber artist who loves Shiki Misaki.)
7) Seriously Komugi becoming Cure Wonderful to protect Iroha, immediately after the Garugaru runs off going into Play Mode, and then only AFTER cornering it realizing “oh hey he’s not having fun. :( Here have a hug, you’ll feel better” is precious.
8) Yeah Iroha has an appropriate reaction to the sheer volume of WTF going on in that last few minutes, that’s fair.
9) Gotta say cutting to the Magical Garden World where all the magical animals are lying defeated was hilarious when Healin’ Good did it and those animals were clearly armored and ready for battle, and it’s hilarious here.

You know, I was just thinking more about tabooness and fear in my vorish world. Like, why would people actually fear being eaten by strangers if it’s completely safe? Like at most it should seem mildly annoying, but then I had a realization from building blocks I’d already come up with.
It’s not the fear of being eaten because in the world it’s normal, it’s the fear of the uncertainty. In my world there are so many different species and people with different intentions, how could you not be scared? They could take you somewhere, they could digest you, or even take something else from you.. Your memories, your energy, emotions, your soul. Even those you trust could do it accidentally.
I think it just adds another nice layer of trust that’s involved with vore, it’s a bit of an obvious thought but I just wanted to share it

Was fascinated how some of the dress up collection dresses made a comeback in the DeliPre series. For example when Kokone was shown wearing Rikka's blue gown.
Watching Vampire in the Garden (a non mahou show) has given me ideas for making a magical girl OC with clothes based on Imperial Russia. You can never have too many OCs!
all the merch and new content for the early-mid 2000's shows and manga has got me really excited! like, of course we got the Tokyo Mew Mew reboot, but there's been new merch and art for Shugo Chara, Mermaid Melody has that sequal series being released, and even Saint Tail has gotten some stuff. It makes me hopeful that other manga besides Mew Mew will also get the same love and attention!

The 4th cures design and general costume of delipre didnt really live up to the food theme.
Honestly I really hate how delicious party precure is pushing stress eating as a good thing.
Delicious Party Precure seemed to have TOO many themes at the same time and didn't feel as cohesive as other teams to me.
Hmm I tried watching some of the later entries in precure (tropical rouge and delipre) and I simply couldn’t get into any of them :/ I also tried watching flip flappers again and simply couldn’t get through it again -_- it was uncomfortable to watch
