Despite not actually doing much this year I’m so proud of myself for getting back into writing which I was been trying to do for some years (probably like two plus years fjkdla) and I have all my wonderful friends I made here to thank for!

This was actually the first fic that I published in a long long time (last time I published anything was back in 2015) I originally wanted to write it when I was going through some shit and sorting out the whole topic of forgiveness (hence the fic’s theme of forgiving) and it helped me get some much needed catharsis I’m actually pretty proud of this fic all things considering haha

I also wrote some other things locked in docs such as drabbles I’ve been writing since October, Cook’s bday fic that’s currently a hot mess and I’m still not finished with omg, an au me and some friends at the yugioh things gc came up with (omg I lowkey miss that au), and a soulshipping fic I was supposed to write for soulshipping week but never finished o|< here’s to me actually finishing these things this year dflak

Jaden and Yuri is a killer Dark World Rulers combo because Jaden hates doing administrative work and Yuri not only has the training, this scrappy purple toothpick shouting down 12 foot tall hell monstrosities is good for his enrichment.

Assorted groupchat au headcanons

Yuya is the only one who didn't pick his own screen name. It was a suggestion by the rest of the guys after he couldn't think of one. Eventually, he will change it, and come up with his own nickname.

Jaden can read people's auras/duel monsters energy. Yusaku's is the most calming, being primarily dark and quiet. Yuma's almost hurts him to look at, being complicated and intermingled, like two people standing in the same spot.

Yusei gave Yuma his first driving lessons when he was in Heartland to consult for the Tenjo Corporation.

Yugi has beaten almost all of them in professional duels at some point: him and Yuma met at the second world duel carnival, where he successfully defended his title as king of games. He beat Yuya at a Maiami city exhibition duel, one of Yuya's first duels in the senior division. He won the duel against Jaden we see at the end of GX, and a standing duel against Yusei at Worlds. Him and Yusaku have come to the silent agreement to never duel each other.

Post Jaden finding them in the dark world, Rin and Yugo go to live with Yusei, Yuto and Lulu go to their home dimension, Yuri stays in the world and trains under Jaden, and Celina is adopted by Boyle as a second daughter.

All the yu-bois and the bracelet girls are on a minecraft server together.

Jaden and Yusaku are the only ones in the gc to not hold a regional championship title. However, Playmaker still gets invitations to most digital events as if he were one.

If the standard dimension Jack Atlas and the synchro dimension Jack Atlas ever met, they would try to fight.

Yugi is genuinely friends with Kaiba, who he says "is actually a pretty good guy, deep down."

No one in the gc believes him.

Literally the most insane thing yugioh ever did was make Yuya Sakaki taller than Yusaku. There's this theatre girly with sparkly roller skates and trauma and she can just casually rest her elbow on the shoulder of one of the most wanted criminals in cyberspace.

The GC au gang at events and cons and stuff being completely unphotographable because Yusaku is with them.

You can track their path through the convention center by people losing it on social media posting things like "THE KING OF GAMES JUST BOUGHT ONE OF MY PRINTS????"

"OMG 😍 Did you get a picture?"

"Sure did!" *attached file cannot be opened* *attached file is corrupted*

They put some secret chemical in Yusei Fudo that makes me want to write fic where he goes on life changing roadtrips with various characters

Yusaku Yusei friendship because when Yusaku's eighteen year old duel disk needs repairs he can take it to someone who not only knows how to fix outdated tech but will also treat it with the respect and reverence it deserves instead of dragging him and trying to sell him a newer model.

I am imagining some truly spectacular things that Jaden has extremely casually mentioned and NEVER EXPLAINED

Jaden Yuki absolute KING of casually saying the most wild thing you've ever heard in your entire life ad then moving on like it's nothing. He drives all the younger protagonists crazy, while Yugi and Yusei have just accepted that he is Like This.

The kids pestered Yugi to add the Lore channel just so they have a place to collect all the weird messages he sends. (Occasionally others get immortalized in the Hall of Weird and most of the guys consider it a great honor. Yuma is the proud car carrier of Second Most Bonkers Guy In This GC by messages in the lore channel)

Some notable examples include:

Until Yuya joins there is a ongoing disagreement between Yubel and Jaden on how many dimensions there are. Jaden says its twelve because Eisenstien and Bastion say so and Yubel says its nine because they were in space when the whole split happened. When Yuya joins and tentatively divulges that he saved four dimensions, Jaden ruined a very emotional moment by yelling “I TOLD YOU THERE WERE TWELVE!! :D” Cue everyone shouting "TWELVE???" So now they keep a running list of possible dimensions and Jaden refuses to confirm or deny any of them

Jaden: Was standing next to Chazz at the bus stop n he opened his umbrella n honestly nearly had a heart attack I thought the vampires were back for a second Everyone: Hey Jaden :) what :) do you mean :) "back"??

Shark thinks its really funny to write notes to Yuma in the language of his first life as Nash. One time Yuma posted a picture to show everyone what he has to put up with and Jaden was like “It just says ‘have a nice day, idiot’.” (Nash’s empire was composed of many cultures and languages, Jaden can only barely read it, but his kingdom in his prior life was a few hundred years down the line folded into Nash’s empire and the writing system adopted basically unchanged.)

But it drives everyone insane because one time Yugi was talking about Atem and Jaden went "Psh. I could have been egyptian royalty if I wanted to."

Everyone: ????????!?!? Jaden: You guys know I'm a king, right? Everyone: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!????!

Yuma has his money on closeted immortal, while Yuya's banking on time traveler.

Sometimes the dark world will lose an imprisoned monster and he’ll slide into everyones dms like - Hey - If you see a two story tall sarcophagus man - Chains on the wrists and ankles - Responds to “Exodia the forbidden one” - Lmk

Yuya being perfectly comfortable with doing traditionally feminine things, tracking down a xe/xyr criminal whose avatar is a seven foot tall androgynous woman and finding depressed teen who wears flaking nail polish and hasn't buzzed his undercut in weeks. Who's perfectly comfortable flipping between identities like some sort of gender amphibian, because the contradiction means she's not tied down, xe has anonymity. And Yuya who's been clinging so hard to being Yusho Sakaki's son, who's been trying so desperately to fill that space in his life where a father should be, meeting someone who thrives on having no past, on being confusing, and seems to have found a real peace in all his appearances. Like. The performer who's never considered another role and this actor whose found a home in the transient nature of internet forums. The kid clinging so desperately to her parents versus the hacker who has none. Traditional gender roles and the the overlapping queer spaces of theatre and internet culture. Am I making sense. Meeting Yusaku is Yuya's Trans Awakening and I have nowhere to put it in Sakaki Alone 2: Lost In New York but I am THINKING ABOUT IT.

I like to think Yusei often Agatha Christie's himself by accident.

And it includes fun trivia like the fact that Goldd is actually the junior in the Goldd/Silvaa partnership, or that Broww and Scarr work together in security, or that Khakki leads the black ops, a thing the dark world has???
