i love all of red tv and don't mind that the vault tracks taking the genre smoothie up multiple notches... except message in a bottle. i just can't get over how 1989 it sounds and how perfect it could have been as a vault track for that instead! i understand maybe due to timeline maybe she felt it was better for red (and it definitely stands out more there whereas on 1989 there would be other similar sounding songs). but i just. can't get into it! i think i would love it a lot more stripped down, just her and the guitar. what are your thoughts?
ahh you're right, i feel like it doesn't really fit red either. it's like how don't you doesn't fit at ALL with fearless. i'm listening to it now and i agree with you, i think it would sound amazing stripped down - it would make the lyrics hit a lot harder. it would make it sound sadder because now it just sounds like 'lol i miss u and i'm sad! :D' or something. as it is, it sounds like a happy song? i really think that this would sound good acoustic, i think it'd sound good with heavy guitars. that quick beat does not fit at all :(
