I have to say, even though I do like Midnights and TTPD a lot, it has made me realize how good of an album folklore (and evermore) is. Like it’s still long, but it’s such a good album conceptually, and it feels like every song has a reason to be there! I’ve always loved those albums (evermore is my favorite album of hers), but I never really appreciated how good it’s put together as an album with a concept. Midnights and especially TTPD doesn’t feel like that, like there are so many songs that are good, but they either sound too similar to other songs or doesn’t feel like it has a reason to be there other than that Taylor didn’t want us to not hear it

I think with midnights, a lot of new fans were disappointed to see her revisit the pop genre and tbh I don't mind it (it's no 1989 ofc) but yeah, thematically speaking evermore especially is top notch
