I was so convinced it was gonna be a bittersweet ending. Then Willie got in the car, and Edvin’s acting,, all the acting in this show was PHENOMENAL

This, right here, this is what possessed me during the whole clip.
I can't stop watching this part.
Wilmon laughing at each other, the twirl, holding hands, being playful and flirty, the looks and heart eyes.
It was so much for me, seeing them happy, especially Wille after season 2, almost made me cry out of happiness. The last scene Wille pulling Simon with a smile. It felt so strange to see that and that's what got me. Seeing Wille smile was such an unfamiliar sight, it made me feel things.
I know they were both miserable during season 2 and I am not trying to be unfair but Wille thought he lost Simon, he knew that he can never be with anybody else. He made mistakes and he thought he would never have this with the love of his life. He, in this palace, was never happy and he never thought he was allowed to be at a time and now he is there with Simon, his boyfriend, who isn't hidden away at all. So seeing him all happy and giddy brought me near tears and I am not even exaggerating.

I absolutely love the new season of young royals. I also love how it furthered my disdain for out of touch rich people. They finally took full advantage of the setting of the show and showed how ignorant people with wealth can be.
You have Felice’s friend group who I and I’m gonna be completely honest CANNOT STAND. Like I like madison but frederika and Stella are so infuriating. Frederika has a knack for saying the most tone-deaf stuff that really gets under my skin and Stella is so blunt and just not in a good way. The way they almost got angry with Felice for calling out the toxic traditions and the bad school environment. It never affected them so it cannot POSSIBLY have been that bad. I love how they acknowledged Felice being one of the only black girls at the school and the friends just not getting it. Not understanding what the issue is exactly and just responding with ‘you’re beautiful.’ Felice knows she’s beautiful. She isn’t insecure she’s just calling out the biases of the teachers but she realises she’s not gonna be able to have a fruitful conversation with them so she just moves on to not make things awkward. This is so relatable for a black girl with an all white friend group. Sometimes the discussion is not worth your energy.
But they are NOTHING compared to Vincent and some of the other guys. The comments they made were sometimes so infuriating I had to pause to compose myself. They are a slightly different case since they actually full on faced the toxicity but especially Vincent refuses to cope with it and continues to traumatise students further(sure not as bad as he faced but initiations will always be disgusting)
The times he calls Simon a communist for simply speaking out about problems ( I don’t think my man payed attention in politics) yet will do a protest for a thing he’s not happy with cus hey how hard can it be poor people do it not realising how draining it can be (he should be happy they gave in so quickly cus he was not prepared)
And Wilhelm….
I’m probably gonna do a second post about him because I wanna get all my thoughts out before the final ep.
I love him but I love how Simon called him out about how he didn’t realise how privileged he was. Don’t get me wrong he faces a lot of problems because of it but he doesn’t understand some of the struggles. He saw the camping trip as just a bad night but Simon saw it for what it was. Two types of people with an incredible difference of wealth not being able to understand each other because one doesnt know how the world works. How much struggle the ordinary person has while they just see things as a given.
The lack of understanding between the two was always gonna cause conflict and honestly you can’t even blame them
(Though I will slightly blame rich people for being so out of touch with world issues but hey guess that’s just poor me talking who’s jealous of them)(Wilhelm tried his best and so did Simon)

Quick photo post to illustrate that the S3 clip we got today is very likely from the third-years' graduation in early June:
Tumblr media
The green marks what look like people in white graduation caps. The red circles mark placards made by the graduating students' families to celebrate them.
Picture of Edvin on his own graduation day for reference:

[Just adding the word spoiler here in case I've forgotten some variant of the relevant tag!]

How do you think YR would end and do you think they are gonna show a time jump/their graduation?
Hi anon!
I'm pretty solid that any graduation they would show would be the current third year boys Nils, Vincent, and August unless his crimes screw that up. I was actually hoping that we would get to see how graduation plays out at Hillerska, and it makes sense given the timeline. If the recent crumbs we've gotten like the casting call for someone who can drive a large truck indicate that's what's happening then I'm here for it!
A time skip doesn't feel like something they'd do or that Lisa and co would write. I think they'll stick to the current timeline and the show will end in early summer. This show is so beautiful and dramatic and time skips have a habit of making a show feel more cheesy. It would have to be done extremely well. Plus I think if they were to do a time skip showing them graduating would be pretty low on the totem pole of things to show. Young Royals isn't a show about going to school, it's a show about do many other things that happens to be set at a school.
And on top of that there is going to be so much to solve next season: How will our boys navigate a world where they are out and together and the media frenzy? How will the crown and their mothers react? What decisions will be made and how will Sara's phone call to the police affect things? Both Micke and Rickard are coming back. Micke's dad's name on the bottles will come to light. August will lawyer up. With so much going on a time skip doesn't feel really feasible.
I'm unsure exactly how I think it will end, but I do think certain elements will be left vague. We won't get a concrete answer to Wilmon's future. Will they get married later down the line? We won't get that info. I also think we might potentially not get an answer on if Wille will remove himself for the line of succession or later abdicate.
One thing I know for certain is that in the final moments of season three episode six Wilhelm will turn to the camera and look us deep in the eyes.

I am sorry but
Tumblr media
This shot gives me 'Crown Prince Wilhelm hiring an equerry/personal assistant' vibes
Idk why Simon has his hands clasped at the front like that. Maybe he is just nervous but it looks weird to me. Especially in a feel good/happy clip like that.
Sir that is your boyfriend. Why do you look like you are expecting orders from the prince any second now?
I started this post to make fun of Simon but then it occurred to me maybe that is the whole point. That is the intention behind it, a foreshadowing. (Or not really)
Clasped hands at the front below belt shows insecurity, whereas clasped hands behind back shows authority and confidence. Wille is confident, he came clean, he revealed the truth about himself. However, Simon has secrets about the drugs, about his father... The media will dig it out or the palace. (That is also not really surprising)
Simon was checking himself in the mirror earlier so this can mean he cares about how he looks in the eyes of other people, the whole public who already started to form an opinion about him, the town boy who dates the crown prince of the country. Is he worthy? Is he good enough?
Their outfit choices are also very telling. Wille looks like a perfect prince, clean cut suit and very presentable but Simon is casual and his outfit doesn't look expensive so to speak. Maybe Simon will feel so out of place. Maybe the royal court will point out these differences. The class and race thing will be an issue for sure. But hopefully this won't cause a rift between them. Or even if it does, only temporarily, I hope they will be able to communicate better and more this season and find a way to be together and more importantly stay together.

I’ve seen some people (on TikTok mostly I don’t actually know about tumblr cus I avoided the tag for spoilers) hating on Simon and saying he didn’t try to understand Willhelm and his situation enough and I’m just like HELLOO??? DID WE WATCH THE SAME SHOW. I already found season two hate about Simon ridiculous BUT FOR SEASON THREE???
Simon has been so understanding and has sacrificed so much. He deleted his socials and all the memories with his friends online for the royal court. He thought the protest of the students was stupid but still joined for Willhelm. He sat down with the people who mock him for his activism despite them doing the same thing for lesser reasons. I would go as far to say he gave up his IDEOLOGIES for Willhelm. He has a lot of political opinions about social issues and the royal court but he’s not allowed to express any of them. He sometimes slips out a negative comment but he has been holding it in for the entire season. He knows he can make an actual difference and is close to someone who can but he can’t do anything about it. His partner doesn’t even seem to care about the issues he’s so passionate about and dismisses them. Yes Wilhelm has his own personal problems but the way he talked about LGBTQ+ issues was honestly hard to watch and you can tell Simon was hurt. He must’ve had bad opinions about Erik after he heard about the initiation thing but he didn’t say anything negative about him because he knows how important he is to Willhelm.
And I think NONE of these are the reasons why he broke up with Willhelm (atleast not the main ones). Simon saw how much the title of crown Prince damaged Willhelm. How broken it made the relationship between him and his mother and how broken he became. Willhelm changed for the crown and lost himself in the process. Simon finally stands on his principles and decides that he no longer wants to support the system that hurt both him and the boy he loves so much. Their relationship can’t survive with that toxic title being held above their own personal feelings
Can you really blame him for not wanting to fully understand the system that is so flawed and damaging to everyone around him?

Given both of their historys I can't blame Simon for being unsettled and scared of willies breakdown and I can't blame Willie for having a breakdown after everything. Neither of them deserve hate over that.

About the suspected spoiler in the German trailer
In case you haven't run into it yet, there's a detail in the German dub that seems to contain a spoiler. It's Kristina's line in this clip:
Tumblr media
In Swedish, she says: Så ska du kunna ta över efter mig.
Note that the "så" wouldn't be there unless something came before it. This could be a point in time, or more likely a condition. "Så" has a few different meanings, but in this context, it's likely a superfluous "then". As in, "if/when X happens, then Y follows."
The part that's been cut may have been revealed in the German dub where Kristina says, Du musst in einem Jahr in der Lage sein, den Thron zu übernehmen. (In a year, you have to be able to take over the throne.) Note that the subs saying Du musst in einem Jahr den Thron übernehmen (You have to take over the throne in a year) are not to be trusted - those are likely made by AI and/or someone from the marketing team who doesn't know the context and just abbreviated the line to meet on-screen length restrictions.
So is it a real spoiler? Well, there will be a lot of little changes in the dubs because languages work differently, and as a translator, I want to caution against interpreting all of them as meaningful! However, I find it hard to believe they would have added something as specific as a year's time window for no reason. It seems more likely the timing was mentioned in the part before "så" or in the surrounding lines in Swedish and the other dubs, but in German, it was put in the middle for word order, flow and/or lip sync reasons.
Still, I'm inclined to think this spoiler isn't as huge as it sounds at first. I admit that my first thought was, "what?? is Kristina ill?? oh I don't like that, it's such a cheap soapy twist to speed up Wille's choice"... But then I realised it very likely just refers to Wille turning 17 in S3.
By Swedish law, only a legal adult can take over the throne. If the monarch dies and the heir is under 18, parliament (riksdag) will appoint a temporary regent (riksföreståndare) and vice regent (vice riksföreståndare). The same thing also happens if there is no heir (note that only parliament can change the line of succession; August, for example, isn't an official heir until the law is changed).
In other words, Kristina is probably just saying something within the lines of In a year, you have to be able to take over if anything happens to me because Wille has just turned 17 and would be able to succeed her at 18.
