QPoC YA Books in 2022 (so far) 🌈

This year has wreaked havoc on my to-read pile. It's a good problem to have -- there are just so many exciting YA books by BIPOC authors coming out in 2022. In particular, I'm really happy about all the YA centering LGBTQ characters of color. It's an embarassment of riches! So here's what's been on my to-read list... a (non-comprehensive!) list of YA books starring QPoC characters, in no particular order:

Flip the Script by Lyla Lee

The first rule of watching K-dramas: Never fall in love with the second lead.

As an avid watcher of K-dramas, Hana knows all the tropes to avoid when she finally lands a starring role in a buzzy new drama. Spin Me Right Round by David Valdes

From lauded writer David Valdes, a sharp and funny YA novel that's Back to the Future with a twist, as a gay teen travels back to his parents' era to save a closeted classmate's life.

All Luis Gonzalez wants is to go to prom with his boyfriend, something his “progressive” school still doesn't allow. Not after what happened with Chaz Wilson. now I told you before reasons why Nacht x Asta was a great ship but now I’m going to tell you why it’s the best ship out of all

(and even if you’re not interested in Nacht x Asta I think you should take the time to read this because it will tell you a lot about you’re ship that you ship)

But then again it’s really long

no I’m not going to name all of the ships because there’s way too many but I will do some ships I’ll give you a reason why I’m not doing them all it’s because all would be for very pacific reasons and I’ll talk about that once I get to Nacht okay so first off we have

Zora x Asta

The reason I don’t like the ship is because it’s for a very pacific reason it’s for a very pacific person and again I’ll talk about that once I get to Nacht but to make it clear to you he hasn’t had that much interaction since his introduction with Asta and that’s the thing this ship it doesn’t even have that much merit to it so yeah no

Asta x Sécre

Same thing very pacific reason and they haven’t had that much interactions since her introduction and if anybody brings up the thing that she was the bird do you think stocking someone is cute now for

Yami x Asta

I can’t exactly go in depth right now but let’s just say I see there relationship like father and son now for the ships I support at least to some extent.

Asta x Noelle

okay so first off I’m not a big fan of this ship because there relationship with each other is more like siblings now why do I think this because it’s clear to me that whenever Noelle does something incredible Asta praises her not in the way that a boyfriend would but more like a big brother if you ignore her attraction towards Asta their relationship with each other is like siblings now you could say oh they’re both so similar so they’re perfect for each other but it’s because they’re similar that they’re like siblings. now similarities in a ship is either bad or incredible in this case it’s okay and if you want a ship about two people who are similar look no further than Yuno & Noelle they are both royalty they both achieve spirit dive they both faced prejudice to some extent in Noelle’s case she faced prejudice from her family but Yuno faced prejudice from his squad and both of them learn to overcome their hate and protect those people when those people needed them the most both have actual motives to stop the dark triad other than protecting the innocent because their parents were killed by them instead of the devil doing it. wind and water are like spiritual elements so they kind of fit each other they both didn’t have control over their magic then they overcome that endeavor and controlled it perfectly in Noelle’s case she literally couldn’t control her magic but when it comes to Yuno. Yuno Couldn’t control Sylph not even mentioning they hold a special place in Asta‘s life in Yuno‘s case he’s Asta’s rival in Noelle’s case she was his fellow newbie and they both experienced their first second and third missions together so yeah They also have those interactions that make them look like the exact same person and they’re both ranked on the most beautiful characters in black clover Noelle’s ranking is 2. and Yuno’s is 1. but that came out long before Nacht was introduced to the series so his number probably drop to 2. as well because of obvious reasons anyhow the point is Yuno and Noelle have so much more similarities than either Asta ship so Now let’s talk about

Asta x Mimosa

(that’s crazy I still have a lot to go because I have a lot to say) okay so this is the one that is more okay than the others I mean it’s not the best and I’ll tell you why once we get to Nacht but let me just say why is this ship in particular is really not toxic I guess okay so Mimosa likes Asta because Asta is Asta to some extent like she fell in love with him when he saved her and Noelle in the dungeon so why do I say she likes him for him because if it was anyone else she would have expected it because if it was Yuno she would have expected it because Yuno has a lot of incredible mana magic or Magna he is a commoner who got into the magic knights so yeah it was because Asta didn’t have any magic that she fell in love with him because even though he didn’t have magic he had a righteous heart protected his allies and would do anything for his friends and as we see her interact with her brother she doesn’t like people who think big of themselves so Asta who talks big but has the strength to back it up is also very modest because after Mimosa saved his life he said thank you I would’ve died without you not even mentioning Asta and Mimosa is a good pair for one another like Asta can save Mimosa and Mimosa can save Asta he can protect her she can protect him both are kind of an airhead one is offensive one is defensive but both can work well with other people Asta works abnormally well with Yuno Yami Finral Nacht Vanessa the list goes on and Mimosa can work well with Noelle Finral Yuno Klaus Zora Kirsch and possibly more but most importantly they both work well with each other (and if anybody brings up Noelle in this debacle just know that Asta and Noelle can only support one another not protect each other) yeah there’s barely anything wrong with the ship that’s why I ship it now for

Noelle x Asta x Mimosa

because Asta is a good boy he doesn’t deserve one wife that and they all work best with each other there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this ship I can totally see a scenario where Asta gives up on Lily and is torn between choosing Noelle or Mimosa so he decides to pick neither one because he’d rather be alone than cause the other pain so they say why don’t you choose both of us and I’ll be like yess ( „-’‿`- „ ) and speaking of Lily

Asta x Lily

it’s Memeable so I ship it because if Noelle and Mimosa say I love you Asta he’ll be like okay but I love a nun now for

Yuno x Asta

okay we’re almost at the end now (I like this ship it isn’t like those other shonen ships between the protagonist and his rival that I usually like to meme about it more than ship it like I was a shipper to all ships in Black clover but now I’m just kind of Yuno x Asta or Nacht x Asta exclusively ) now why do I like Yunoasu why this ship because Yuno acts really gay when it come to Asta and Asta gets jealous of Ril because Ril got to fight Yuno instead of Asta. Asta and Yuno give each other that look whenever they see each other. They work perfectly together Yuno strengthens Asta’s attacks and they’re both kind of like each other antithesis one has magic one has nonexistent magic one is royalty one might be a fallen one (because I think Licita & Asta are Licht and Tetia descendents) they both believe in the other. they both grew up together so it’s just natural to believe that they would want to be with the person who’s been there since they were babies the closest person to them is each other so this ship is incredible so how can Nacht x Asta be better well........

before we get to that

Liebe x Asta

I don’t like the ship because they’re brothers they share the same mom and they might even actually be biologically related so uh yeah NOW FINELY WE’WR HERE

Nacht x Asta

this ship this is........... when it comes to all the others This ship ranks supreme in my book why you may think because if Nacht & Asta We’re in a relationship it will be the type of dynamic where neither of them doesn’t wanna lose each other both worry for one another Asta is a very kind person but just because he’s kind doesn’t mean that people like him to tell the truth when it comes to everyone else barely any of them truly like his true self because when it comes to Zora or Sécre they only like him they would only be in a relationship with him because he was the one who changed them but he was only able to change them because he was strong Yami only took notice of Asta because he was strong if he didn’t have the strength to back it up he would never get into the magic knights no one would take him seriously not his hopes nor his dreams Noelle only fell in love with Asta because he was strong and he encouraged her you could literally replace him with anyone else like Yuno and she would still feel the same for them so yeah she doesn’t love Asta she loves the persona of him a person who is kind strong and tells you you did great when you thought that they were going to make fun of you Mimosa if Asta wasn’t strong she wouldn’t fall in love with him neither would any of the other ships that I didn’t even get to name and I may have praised Yunoasu but honestly it’s kind of a gross ship to because if Yuno wasn’t saved by Asta or if he didn’t grown-up with Asta he would see him as a joke and never take him seriously no matter what and that’s the exact reason why someone like Asta can’t be honest to his friends he hast to keep on smiling constantly hast to be strong because if he’s weak he will be all alone and that’s why I love Liebe & Nacht so much because no matter what they’ll except him Liebe doesn’t care if his brother is strong because as long as he’s kind he’ll care for him more than anyone and Nacht he can except someone who is weak someone who cry’s as long as they’re a good person and that’s not even mentioning the fact that Nacht watched Asta for years and I can only assume it’s because he had that smile a kind personality someone who even though he had no magic kept on training even though he was up against the world up against God’s favorite (Yuno) he never stopped believing he could be the wizard king one day that’s what probably drew him towards Asta he excepted Asta long before anyone in the Black Bulls really did that’s why I ship it because I know Asta would except Nacht and all of his flaws and mistakes Because they would be there for each other because they both gone through a lot so they’re empty to some extent but the person who can put sugar into that jar or fill up the hole in their hearts are each other I constantly think of scenarios where Asta says nobody will except me if I’m weak I have to be strong I can’t cry I have to be strong I’m not allowed to be weak. and Nacht Responding with a hug and says I’ll except you even if the whole world rejects you I’ll except you because I know you except me) And that’s why I ship it because it’s beautiful I love it and even though it will never happen I’ll keep on shipping it until I stop I cannot say that I’ll be a shipper forever because I don’t know what will happen in the future but until then I will be a strong supporter of the ship and I hope you guys could understand ( „T’‿`T„ )

A Thousand Songs (Atem/Yami x Reader)

Chapter Two: Leave Out All The Rest

Summary: You knew that you and your band could make it big. Not only that, but stay together while doing it; the five of you were family, after all. The only problem was that despite all your musical talents...none of you were particularly good at lyrics. After years of struggling to put out your first full album, the solution finally made himself know in chance meeting on an empty stage.

Rock Band AU, Atem x Reader, gender neutral reader.

A.N. In case they weren't gay enough in the last chapter, Yugi and Jonouchi are boyfriends in this series <3 Is it a bit unrealistic to think they could be in a band and remain happy n healthy in their relationship? Probably. Do I care? No.

"This ain't working at all- and I told you it wouldn't!"

Yugi sighed as his beloved boyfriend tossed his phone on the table and leaned back in his metal folding chair.

Immediately, Yugi picked up the phone and handed it back to Jonouchi. "You can't dismiss them on looks alone," he scolded in a light tone.

Jou looked aghast, "He looks like he sacrifices cats on Sundays!" He waved the screen at Yugi, which displayed a bearded man who cast a purposeful scowl at the camera. He had lots of tattoos and piercings on top of the studded leather clothes, but that just made Yugi more annoyed with his boyfriend.

"People can say the exact same thing about me!" He waved a hand, encompassing his leather pants, studded belt, collar-style choker, and the tattoo on his arm.

Honda let out an unsure hum as he scrolled through his own phone, "But you're still a cinnamon roll under all that leather, Yugi, I'm not sure this guy is. Don't think he's a bad dude or anything, but I don't think he's the right fit for us," he turned his phone so everyone else sitting at the table could see, "just look at the titles of the songs he sent."

Okay, Yugi would concede that the examples the applicant had sent were a little...extreme, the title "bled like a pig" stood out in particular, but he still thought the boys were being a bit judgy.

"I think I'm gonna agree," you mumbled, "these are pretty heavy."

"You wrote a song called "we are broken" that sounds pretty heavy," Yugi countered, not unkindly though still trying to play the middleman.

"Okay, heavy isn’t the right word,” you conceded with a frown as you looked over some rather grotesque lyrics, “yup, “ edge lord ” is more fitting. Just look at the contents of the songs."

At the suggestion, Yugi scrolled down the application on his own phone, passed the profile pic and down to the bottom of the "examples of my work" section. ….okay, you guys had a point. Yugi doubted that the guy actually performed blood sacrifices, but his song style was definitely a little too demonic.

"Alright, I'll send him a thanks but no thanks note."

As Yugi brought up his email app to do just that, Anzu let out a frustrated sigh and scrubbed her hands over her face. "That was, what, the sixtieth-something application we've gone through?" she groaned, setting her phone down too, “It’s been over a month, and we haven’t gotten anywhere.”

"I still can't believe we got so many responses to our ads," Jonouchi grunted.

You set your head on your hand, expression dropping and making the dark circles under your eyes look more pronounced, "Everyone's pretty eager to join a band, now if only getting fans was as easy as getting people who wanted in on the fame prospect."

"All this work would actually be worth it if we found someone who even remotely appealed to us," Honda commented, "But everyone's just a little too…"

"Hardcore?" Anzu offered, then looked over at you, "Nah, you’re right, edge lord-y seem to fit most of them. I think that's the real thing, our band name probably makes people think we're more broody and grim than we actually are. We have plenty of darker themes in our stuff but everyone else seems to take it just a bit too far than our tastes go."

You ran a hand over your eyes, “Anyone else feel like we’ve wasted five weeks looking these applications over?”

"Hey, I'm sure we'll find someone soon though!" Yugi chimed in, a valiant attempt to elevate the mood. You and Jonouchi were always saying (much to his embarrassment) that he was everyone’s ray of sunshine, so surely he could salvage the night’s mood. “We just have to keep trying, I’m sure the right person is just around the corner!”

Anzu threw him an appreciative smile, “You’re probably right, Yugi, but I think I’m done looking for the night, it’s pretty exhausting.” She leaned back in her chair more, stretching her arms over her head.

“It’s probably a good time to call it quits now anyways,” you offered after glancing at the time, “If I hurry home now I can catch a shower before my shift starts.”

Everyone mumbled and nodded their agreements at that, followed by the five of you meandering around the room to get your stuff together. Honda offered to drive you back to your apartment like usual and everyone waved goodbye to each other in the tiny parking lot of the studio, Jou and Yugi climbing into Jou’s truck, Anzu into her beat-up car, and you and Honda zipping away on his motorbike.

It wasn’t until Yugi and Jonouchi were back at their place and Jou was cooking their dinner that Yugi realized something with great annoyance. After dumping the content of his backpack out on their bed, rifling through his desk drawer, and scouring the floor, Yugi wandered into the living room/kitchen area with a frown.

“Hey, sweetie, have you seen my adapters?”

Jonouchi looked thoughtful as he stirred the contents of the pan, “Uh, you mean the ones you use for your turntables? Haven’t seen them since the last time we rehearsed, that was what, three days ago?”

Yugi mumbled a curse under his breath, double-checking the tables and other spots he might have absentmindedly set them. Nothing. “Darn, I must have left them at the theatre yesterday.”

“Sure they aren’t in the studio?”

“No, I looked to make sure I’d have them when we rehearse tomorrow, but they weren’t there, that’s why I had it on my mind to find them when we got home.” Yugi shrugged and checked the time, thinking. After making up his mind, he grabbed his purple jacket from the armchair, “It’s okay though, if I hurry I should be able to sneak back into the theatre to get it. I think some members of the orchestra practice together tonight, and even if they aren’t the janitor should still be there.”

Yugi bounded across the tile floor as he slipped his jacket on, jumping up to place a kiss on his boyfriend’s cheek before turning to the door.

“I won’t be long, be back before dinner’s done!”

“You better,” Jonouchi called as he grabbed some spices from the cabinet, “I ain’t fixing this masterpiece for one!”

Yugi chuckled and closed the door behind him, as if he’d miss a chance to taste his boyfriend’s amazing cooking.

There was barely any need for a jacket as he walked down the sidewalk, but the vanishing sun assured that it would probably get colder by the time he was walking back home. Although their apartment was a bit far from the band’s studio, the location at least allowed Yugi easy access to his other work place: Domino City’s “Pegasus Theatre”. It was a popular spot for the upper crust of Domino, since they not only hosted ballets, but a talented orchestra as well. Yugi and Anzu both worked there, Anzu as a dancer in the ballet, and Yugi in the sound department, providing tech aid for the shows. Well, for the ballets at least, the natural design of the theatre meant that he wasn’t usually needed when the orchestra played.

Yugi's assumption proved right and he found the door of the employee entrance unlocked. The sound of chatter greeted him as he approached the stage area, signaling that the orchestra was packing it in for the night. He took a brief glance at the stage as he walked up the rows of seats- he had to be quick, as there were only three lingerers, two chatting as they headed for the door and one quietly packing away his violin.

Yugi bounded up the narrow staircase to the sound booth, opening the door and crossing the room to the little employee cubbies. He found what he was looking for quick enough, after pushing aside his spare jacket and snack bag. The beat-up altoids case rattled, but Yugi made sure to double-check that the adapters were actually in there. They were and he sighed in relief, pushing the other contents back into the cubby before turning.

He peered out the booth's window to see if the violinist was still there, and to Yugi's surprise he was not only still in sight, but the man had actually lingered after packing away his instrument. Standing in the very center of the stage, the man was looking out at the empty seats, then trailing his eyes up to the magnificent red curtains.

Yugi smiled to himself, figuring the man was just having a moment of wonder or taking in a daydream during his moment alone, and Yugi couldn't blame him in the slightest. Yugi was slower when taking the steps down, letting the man have his moment before he ruined it by walking by.

Again though, Yugi found himself surprised. His pace slowed, the sound of a melodic voice carrying through the theatre like a wave that had Yugi stopping dead in his tracks.

I dreamed I was missing

You were so scared

But no one would listen

Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming

I woke with this fear

What am I leaving

When I'm done here?

The voice was deep, the rumble of a serene storm, almost haunting in a way.

So, if you're asking me, I want you to know

Yugi’s feet were moving before he even noticed and he soon stood on the red carpets leading to the stage.

When my time comes

And don't resent me

And when you're feeling empty

The violinist stood there, lost in his own world- or rather the words of his song. His eyes were closed, listening to a chorus of instruments only he could hear as his hands moved in short but meaningful gestures.

Don't be afraid

I've taken my beating

I've shared what I've made

I'm strong on the surface

Not all the way through

I've never been perfect

But neither have you

So, if you're asking me, I want you to know

The chorus of the song came again and Yugi finally snapped out of his reverie long enough to pull out his phone. With quick thumbs he searched the beautiful lyrics he had never heard before, wondering why he didn’t know the song.

No results came up, the song was unknown.

That only got Yugi’s attention more, and he gazed back up at the man, whose voice was filling with more and more emotion with every lyric. His fist clenched at the front of his shirt, over where his heart was, eyes screwed shut as he continued to pour his heart out to the empty theatre.

Forgetting

All the hurt inside you've learned to hide so well

A pause, an intake of breath, and Yugi found himself hanging on to every second the man gave.

The singer drew out the last lyric in a prolonged, sorrowful note; breathy as he bowed his head, the song- his raw expression, finished.

Instantly Yugi found himself clapping, bounding down the red aisle between the seats to the stage. He only felt slightly guilty when the other man jumped in fright.

“That was amazing! Your voice is amazing- that song too!”

The man (who Yugi only now noticed has a similar hairstyle to his own) stared back at him with wide eyes, body stiff. “Uh- oh I- thank you. I...didn’t realize anyone else was here.”

The man’s speaking voice was deep too, and anyone could guess that he’d have a powerful set of pipes. Yugi was still too excited to pay the man’s nervousness much mind as he practically hopped to the foot of the stage.

“I didn’t mean to startle you- but I couldn’t help it, that was awesome! Did you write that song yourself? I googled some of the lyrics and nothing came up.”

The man took a while to respond and Yugi wondered if his dark complexion was hiding a blush. Eventually, though, the violinist/singer cleared his throat.

“Y-yes, I wrote it. I’ve never sung it in front of anyone though.”

“Do you write a lot of songs?” Yugi pressed and again it took his new friend a moment to respond.

“...Sometimes. I suppose it’s a bit of a hobby. Listen I-”

Finally, Yugi actually realized just how rude he was being with his aggressive ramblings, “Oh, gosh I’m sorry! I’m bombarding you with questions like some weirdo.” He gave a nervous laugh and to his relief, the man’s posture seemed to relax a little- though he still seemed a bit embarrassed. “My name’s Yugi, by the way, I’m one of the sound techs.”

The man gave a nod of his head, “Atem, I’m a violinist in the orchestra.”

“And a totally awesome singer, you’ve got some real talent,” Yugi reiterated, but pressed on before the man could get too bashful again, “The reason I asked you so many questions is because I think it’s fate that we met like this! See I’m in a band, we’re trying to put out our first full-length album but- honestly, we’re aren’t very fast at pumping out new songs. We’re great with coming up with the music, but the lyrics always get us stuck. We’ve actually been looking to hire a ghostwriter for our songs, but none of the people we’ve found seem right- but that song was amazing, just the kind of stuff we like!” Ignoring the unreadable expression on Atem’s face, Yugi dug out his cardholder and passed one of them up to Atem. “I don’t wanna blindside you more than I already have tonight- sorry about that again, but, I really think you’d be a perfect fit for us. Think about it, and if it seems interesting to you, come talk to me.”

Atem looked the card over for a second, before peering back at Yugi, “I’ve never really put my songs out there, it’s just a private hobby, I don’t want you and your bandmates to get your hopes up.”

Yugi waved off his concern, “Don’t worry about that. Like I said, just think about it, okay?” He didn’t move, nor look away from Atem until the man finally nodded in agreement. “Awesome! Take your time and come talk to me once you’ve thought about it some.” His outgoing steam was starting to run out, his bold and somewhat rude actions finally starting to catch up to him. In a sudden burst of embarrassment, Yugi brought his hand up to scratch at the back of his head. “Anyway, I’ll let you go now, I’m sure you want to get home or get on with your night. It was nice meeting you, Atem!”

And with a wave, Yugi was heading for the door, leaving a rather bewildered Atem in his wake.

Episode 101 and it’s the worst you guys

you want tension? this is not how you get tension. fuck’s sake. if you can’t think of a way for the strategy you’ve come up with to be both Super Scary Hard and also actually beatable by Mr Protagonist with no fuckery, then you fucked up. do not pass Go, do not collect $200. back to the drawing board, assholes.

SAME, YAMI

Yami is struggling with the actual-damage sort-of-not-really-who-knows part of the duel. And it’s Not Funny apparently

way to be hella vague, boy, it’s like you’re not even sure what happens to a body when it takes damage?

.... you can tell? like you can figure it out? *squints suspiciously* Maybe this is a lost-in-translation thing but this sentence does not mean Yami is feeling the pain so much as aware that it is happening.

It’s at this point that Kuriboh begins to try to communicate

“What’s that?! Timmy is trapped down a well?!”

Yugi has to intercede because apparently he speaks Kuriboish.

Yami looks somehow shocked and betrayed that Yugi knows that.

So Yami sets the card face down and Seamonkey says some more bullshit and pulls another bullshit maneuver and...

gasp. how will I take this suspense.

Right before the blow hits, two things happen: Yugi shows up looking apprehensive but determined and Kuriboh...

...proliferates.

And when the (weird bright orange cloudy) dust settles...

It’s Yugi in control and he’s still alive! Seamonkey Doucheface is all like, hey you switched places, and Yugi’s all like, KURIBOH’S SPECIAL DECK MASTER ABILI-- i can’t care.

Yami asks Yugi why he forced a switch and Yugi says...

Awww! Sweetie he’s already DEEPLY traumatised and potentially completely disconnected from physical sensation you are like 3001 years too late but that’s sooo kind!

Yami thanks him and Yugi says...

Sometime’s a family is a teenage boy, the traumatised ghost that haunts his jewellery and their creepy floating sentient furball.

Yugi spells out the Message of the episode, in case any of the children watching are particularly slow today

.... SURELY this means that Seamonkeyface McMurderchildren should win tho cause he’s so United with his Deck Master that he’s VIRTUALLY (eh? eh?) indistinguishable from them?

Also this whole thing implies that Yami was not connecting at all with Kuriboh and basically Yugi had to step in to remind Yami of the HEART OF THE CARDS #takeadrink

He doesn’t say what is the most important part but maybe that’s because Yugi obviously wants him to say it’s “making friends with pushy furballs who can’t talk” and Yami might think it’s something lame and boring like “strategy” or “not giving up”.

Anyway, to fend off further potentially awkward conversation, Yugi just passes out for, like, no reason

like yeah I get it’s supposed to be his body has taken damage and it’s hard for him, but he went from 100% A+ fine full-sentences no signifiers of pain, to 0% conscious in like two seconds, I think he’s faking

“because that’s what my life has come to I guess!”

2 ‘Gigantic Jellyfish’ is not a real card name. Jellyfish is the closest real card I could find to this.

This video is from the YouTube channel GryKarcianeDlaDzieci, which takes the abridged series and translates it to Polish. It really surprised me how in character this is to the abridged series, this being an original script of theirs. I’m pretty sure there are other fans out there who don’t understand Polish, so I listened through and translated it to English. I myself am not affiliated with the channel.

Okay so I’ve just decided to talk about each episode individually since so much happens in them and I have a lot of things to say that nobody cares about ANYWAY MOVING ON here you go!

Episode 14: That’s The Idea, Ochaco

•Can we talk about how Todoroki had the prettiest animation in the intro please???

•Aizawa shows up like I LIVED BITCH we love one grumpy crippled old man (reminds me of this English teacher I had who showed up to class after breaking 3 ribs and couldn’t laugh or move and was in visible pain while teaching, Professor Saunders if you ever see this please just take a day off my dude)

•Mido: “Mineta don’t you know how important the Sports Festival is?”

Mineta: “yes but I just don’t want to get MURDERED”
