This young lady here, everytime she runs she sets a new world record! Team USA Sydney McLaughlin wins the 400m hurdles at the 2022 World Championships in a world-record time of 50.68. McLaughlin has broken the record four times in the last 13 months.

Team Netherlands (Dutch) Femke Bol took silver and Team USA Dalilah Muhammad wins bronze.

My most sincere (read: sarcastic) thanks to whoever is responsible for starting the Worlds coverage 30 minutes late. I had hopes that I could watch most of the competition during the baby's naptime. Now I'll get to see 30 minutes less of it. Grrr.

gah japan made it to quarterfinals but i cant go watch their match😭 and they're going against brazil so idk if its too many miracles to ask for, since they already unexpectedly beat brazil during pools. but i'm really hoping they do win again so i can go watch them in semifinals...maybe if koga is playing...?

also kinda surprised turkey made it to quarters, i got the impression they werent doing that well this season. but i havent paid close attention to them so maybe i got the wrong impression

probably serbia brazil usa will go to semis, but i really wonder between italy and china, chinas not doing that well nowadays, but italy has off-days

Team USA stunned Jamaica in the 4x100 relay with the USA winning gold in 41.14 seconds and Team Jamaica (41.18) taking silver. Team Germany (42.03) won bronze.

On paper, Team Jamaica was expected to blow away the field, but a bad exchange between the 1st and 2nd leg proved costly.
