i guess wooyeo/dam now reminds me of a slightly better aiden/wendy, where both ships really are about peeling back the perfect facade after some time and trickery and showcasing those flaws, and accepting them for who they are, supporting them through the rocky moments
like aiden/wendy annoyed me on the jealousy front and peacocking, and i guess i was kind of underwhelmed at the fact that tho aiden's issues were resolved/getting resolved, the manhwa ends, and it's just implied that they'll figure it out as they walk this path they choose together. eventually, wendy will break her contract with juliet and renew it with aiden, once she's satisfied with the progress made. eventually, eventually. like i guess the manhwa decided that bc the main hurdles are overcome, everything else will be resolved in due time. (but i would have liked more time spent in the manhwa!)
but i'm also not quite sure that wendy is the morality chain that wooyeo wants dam to be / dam herself wants to be the one to fix him.
like both wooyeo and aiden place a lot of expectation on dam and wendy respectively, how they centre themselves around them, and re characterize themselves based on what they think their love interest prefers
and something something, ig. idk. they're pretty different manhwas, but it reminds me a little of each other, in terms of, how a fantasy creature deals with a human, even tho aiden isn't going to turn human and wooyeo is, and how the human tries to deal with the inhuman way of thinking of essentially getting 'bound' and how that shifts into love. both ships are about the importance of communication, and just. idk.
i have now 30 weeks to wait to see how this plays out, since i now have to wait weekly for the rest, if mal is accurate in chapter count re: mriag.

actually can't remember the last couple of episodes of the kdrama, bc i certainly don't remember wooyeo going i don't believe men and women can be friends, just look at me and hyesun. and wooyeo my dude???? you two ARE friends???? wtf are you talking about?????
they might not admit that they are each other's best friend, but. they clearly are???? even if they dislike and can't stand each other????
i feel conflicted, like i'm glad the manhwa is taking away the rose tinted lens , and revealing that oh, wooyeo has imperfections and genuine flaws, and dam is aware of them!
but. maybe bc it's leaning more into the dam can fix him kind of thinking, and i'm like. huh. i'm not sure i want dam to end up with him after all, bc the writing for dam has... stopped being quite so good, i think? somewhere along the way it began to feel muddled, maybe roughly when dam was like 'he was essentially cheating on me and didn't talk to me about it' and she starts excusing his actions, bc gumiho!
