AWFC x English-Italian Reader - Chapter 1
Summary: Leah's pov of the injury.
TW: injury, mention of blood, seizure

A/N: I finally got chapter 1 done. Is it short.. yes, is it good... probably not. also I promise you this isn't a Leah x reader story. It just starts off like this but you'll see by next chapter other players will be included.
Leah had seen everything that had happened so well. She had an eerily good view of the horrific moment. She saw you go up, she saw your small smile when you head hit the ball then the movement your head made when it collided with the opposing player. She knew you weren’t expecting it. It was so obvious. The second you were hit you were out.
She saw your body flop to the floor but not before coming in contact with the post. Your limp and motionless body laid on the grass seeming to be completely devoid of life. It scared everybody especially Leah, she’d been there for you since you’d joined the team. She promised to protect you but she felt so utterly useless in that moment. Even with you seeming dead, it wasn’t a peaceful sight. There was a gash on the left side of your head, most likely from the collision with the post. The was blood starting to come down your face but Leah whipped it away with her hand. More of your teammates began to circle your body, most took a quick look before turned away.
Leah was slightly pushed back when the medical team arrived. They began going though procedures as quick as possible, full well knowing how dangerous it could be. For any player a head injury was serious but this wasn’t your first. You used to joke about it in training. You’d tell everyone that if you got another concussion you’d have permanent brain damage or lose your last 2 brain cells. The thing was, you weren’t lying. Before coming to Arsenal you’d had 4 concussion, during your time at the club you had a minor concussion. This was your 6th concussion and a major one at that.
Leah remained hopeful, she called your name a couple of times noticing a small reaction from you. The medics had finished their evaluation and were planing how they were going to remove you from the pitch. Leah called out once more, your eyes slowly and arduously opened. You looked her in the eyes. She looked back seeing nothing. She’d never seen your eyes look so blank, there was a shellshocked resemblance to them. She’d give anything to have you just look shellshocked at her now.
Your eyes roll to the back of your head then shut, you take a sharp sudden breath. Your body tensed up and the convulsions began. The medical team rushed, moving everyone and everything out of the area around you. Leah felt a surge of fear, her hands trembling as she stood nearby, desperately wanting to do something, anything to help. Your body continued to convulse rhythmically, limbs jerking uncontrollably.
Time seemed to slow down as she watched your seizure unfold. Panic gripped her, but she fought to stay composed, knowing full well that the medical team were doing everything they could to manage the situation. They administered emergency medications, trying to bring the seizure under control. After what felt like an eternity, the convulsions gradually began to subside, leaving you lying there, motionless and exhausted.
As the medical team continued their assessment, Leah returned to your side, she whispered your name once more, hoping for any sign of responsiveness. Nothing. The reality of the situation sank in, and Leah couldn’t shake the feeling of helplessness. The game, the laughter, the wonderful moments seemed like distant memories as the seriousness of your condition took center stage. The stretcher arrived, and the medical team carefully lifter you, carrying you off the field while the fans broke their silence and cheered you off. Leah followed closely, her mind swirling. She wasn’t able to shield you from this devastating moment.
As the game resumed a chant broke out.

Summary: You and Jackie are dating but the public doesn’t know about it, until Jackie gets hurt in a game.

You've been dating Jackie for a couple months now. Keeping it mostly to yourselves, except for some of your noisy friends and teammates that had figured it out. Dating her had been amazing so far. You spend most your time off from training with her, exploring the surrounding towns. Occasionally some fans would run into you, but they didn't expect anything. Just two close friends hanging out, and that was okay for now. It was nice having some time to figure out what this all meant without having the public interfere.
Jackie decided to get some drinks to go and invite you to come take a short trip to the lake, watch some nature and relax before the game tonight. You always get a bit nervous before games, so it was a nice way to take your mind off of it. And you loved that Jackie remembered and tries to ease your nerves.
Eventually you had to get back for the mandatory team meeting, to go over the game plan for tonight one last time. After that it was time to warm-up on the field. There was an amazing turn out, most of the seats were filled with fans.
The match started and not only ten minutes in Jackie managed to kick the ball over to Vivianne who was able to get a clear shot to the goal and score the team their first point. You all celebrated the first goal, jumping into each other's arms and patting Viv and Jackie on the back for the great work.
Soon after the opposing team managed to move past your teams defense and made a goal as well. Sari was quick to get the ball back into play, keeping it in possession, slowly moving it more towards the other half of the field, where the ball met Jackie again. She noticed she had a clear shot to get the ball to you. The midfielder took the shot you had practiced so many times. It landed perfectly at your feet, you managed to turn in a matter of seconds surprising the goalkeeper with the curve of you shot, landing your second goal.
You point at Jackie immediately after the ball goes over the goal line. She runs towards you and jumps in your arms, quickly being followed by Vivianne and Daniëlle who were standing nearby. The game continues with some more goal opportunities from both teams, but it stays 2-1 until halftime.
Going back into the field after half time, the opposing teams seems to have gotten more energy and aggression around the ball. It's hard to keep up at times, but the defence is doing a great job.
Everyone's positions on the field have lowered a bit, trying your hardest to keep the other team at bay. A long ball flies over the field, Jackie tries to reach for it by jumping in the air, while an opposing player must have wrongly calculated the height of the ball. Thereby kicking Jackie straight into her ribs. She falls down to the ground hard, her hand immediately shoots to her side.
You're half a field a way, but you're by her side in a second. Softly brushing the hair and turf off her face. You know there's not much you can do until the medical team arrives, but you want to be with her.
Once they get there they start asking her questions, where does it hurt? How painful is it? Do you think you can stand? On which Jackie answers "My ribs and my side. Very painful and I don't think so." The medical team tells all the surrounding players to give them some room. When you stay they tell you, "You too, y/l/n."
You're about to get up and walk away against your will, but Jackie grabs your hand. "I need her to stay." The woman from med nods and lets you stay. All through being checked Jackie holds your hand tight and you weren't planning on letting go anytime soon.
When it's time for Jackie to be taken off the field you help walk her to the sidelines. She can barely stand which is breaking your heart. "Can I carry you the rest of the way?" You ask her, making sure it won't hurt too much. She whispers a pleading 'yes' before you carefully pick her up bridal style. Once at the sideline you know you have to go back on, so in putting her gently down on the ground again you hug her side and kiss her cheek. "You're going to be okay, take it easy. We're winning this one for you."
And that's what you did. You and the other girls now got more aggressive with the ball as well, angry that they hurt one of your own this badly. Jackie had been resting in the dressing room with an ice pack on her side, ever since she got taken off the field. "How are you feeling, Jacks?" You ask as you take a seat next to her. "Not so good." She says leaning into you a bit.
The medical staff walks into the dressing room, "Are you ready to go to the hospital, Jackie?" She nods and tries to take off her cleats to put on her own shoes, but when she reaches down a sharp pain in her side makes her sit back up again. Without a second thought you sit down on the floor in front of her and untie her cleats and help her get into her other ones. "I'm coming with you." You say grabbing your own shoes to change in the car.
Luckily Jackie didn't break any bones, she bruised some of her ribs and the print of the opponents cleat was starting to show. But she was free to go back to the hotel you were all staying at.
In the lobby most girls were nervously waiting to her the results of the x-rays. After telling them the good news and telling the coach know how long the doctor said she had to be out for. You took her to her room to get some rest. You lay down on the bed with her and open up Netflix on the TV. She cuddles up to you in a position where it doesn't hurt too much, and you let her pick a movie to watch.
About halfway into the movie someone knocks on the door. You call out, “Come in.” too comfortable to get up. Daniëlle walks in with her phone in her hand. “Hey, how are you feeling?” She asks a sleepy Jackie. “I’m doing alright now, but once I have to get up again it will hurt again.” Daniëlle sits down on the edge of the bed with a sympathetic smile on her face. She truly felt bad for her friend, having been in the same position before she knew how much it hurt, even if Jackie was telling her otherwise.
“Have either of you been on social media since the game?” Daniëlle starts. When you both shake your head she says, “I think you better look at your notifications.” You reach for your phone and hold it so both you and Jackie can see what’s on the screen.
You’re tagged in hundreds of posts on Instagram of the two of you holding hands and some of the kiss you thought you could give her without anyone seeing. Comments on the fans shipping you two start filling the screen. You’re smiling at your phone. “I see you two are both happy that the world now knows, so that’s my cue to leave.” Daniëlle says as she quickly walks out of the room again.
Jackie’s eyes meet your, a smile evident on both your faces. “So…” you start. “Now the world knows.” Jackie finishes. “How are you feeling about that?” As a response, you cup her cheeks and place a soft kiss on her lips. “I’m glad they know, because now I get to do this all the time. How about you?” You ask her back. “I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I was and am so grateful for your support, I really needed you and I want to be able to hold your hand and kiss you wherever we go too.” After sharing a couple more kisses, Jackie melts into your arms again and you finish watching the movie.

Happy Birthday, Marta!
Today, February 19, 2024, the Queen of Football turns 38 years old.
Marta Vieira da Silva started her career at the age of thirteen in 1999 at a time with very few references in women's football and, currently, has become the biggest name in the sport. It was only between 2004 and 2009 that the world finally woke up and "discovered" the talent of that player who defended the colors of Umeå IK and since then she has never been forgotten.
She is the holder of two silver medals at the Olympics (2004, Athens & 2008, Beijing), two gold medals at the Pan American Games and was runner-up at the 2007 World Cup with the Brazilian team. Furthermore, she was considered the best player in the world six times – five of them consecutively, breaking a record between men and women for this –. Marta is also the Brazilian team's top scorer – once again, among men and women – with 116 goals scored.
However, it is still difficult to measure Marta and her achievements in a simple text like this. She was and still is a great inspiration for many women around the world and will always be the biggest name in women's football. I lack words to express the admiration I have for her and the honor I feel in wearing the colors of my country and having a representative like her.
I was born and raised after the golden age of Brazilian football, but I am still fully capable of understanding the magnitude of her achievements and that of all football. Being young and/or from another country is no excuse for the lack of recognition of this incredible woman.

Women's Transfer window
The women's transfer window in January is very busy at the time so Here we go
West ham are busy during the window they signed the Australian and Matildas Midfielder Katrina Gorry from the Swedish side Vittsjö meanwhile Canadian international Shelina Zadorsky on Loan from Spurs until the rest of the season the both of them will join Kristen Mewis who is recently join the Hammers in December from Gotham.
Also, Spurs are in a double swoop on this window where two former Vittsjö players the Matildas Star Charlie Grant and Swedish International Matilda Vinberg from Hammby.
Aston Villa had signed the Swiss international right back Noelle Maritz from Arsenal for a two and half deal.
Bristol City has signed a goalkeeper Shae Yañez from NWSL side San Diego Waves on a disclosure deal.
Chelsea are closing a deal on the Everton centre back Nathaile Bjorn will she be going to Merseyside to West London and now deal is done and now she is now a Chelsea player for a two year contract.
Entracht Frankfurt had announced the signing of the Japanese forward Remina Chiba.
Arsenal had signed U.S international player Emily Fox from the NWSL side North Carolina Courage

Lia Wälit to Real Madrid?- ATA football said that they had entered regarding talks on Arsenal midfielder Lia Wälit maybe and this transfer window or is possible maybe in the summer seems that might be exploring more interesting into a new adventure after her contract deal expires in the summer.
Real Madrid and PSG are really interest on Man United and England's number 1 Mary Earps but Arsenal are interested in the goalkeeper.
The source had said that the PSG left back Sakina Karchaoui but she is available for the summer but Barcelona are interested in her but PSG wants to extend her contract but it is up to her to decide.
Inter Milan are close to sign Bayern Munich Midfielder Lina Magull

World Cup Final | Daniëlle van de Donk
Pairing: Daniëlle van de Donk x Reader
Summary: It's the last ten minutes of the world cup final against the United States, with an even score, what will happen when the team is exhausted but still needs to score a goal to win?
Warnings: injury and blood.

You were eighty minutes into the most important game of your life, the world cup finale against the United States. The score had been 3-3 for the past 15 minutes, your American opponents scoring the goal that erased your lead on them. It was an intense game, you were all giving it your everything. All five substitutions had been used, in order to get some fresh legs on the field.
Aniek passes the ball over to you on the midfield, as you turn with the ball you’re immediately blocked by Lindsay Horan and Ashley Sanches. The latter of which shoves you to the ground. Since it was all happening so quickly, Horan’s cleat meets your arm as she tries to kick the ball back to their side of the field. You grab your arm out of pain, when you look down you see there is blood running down your arm. Your girlfriend Daniëlle comes running your way as Lindsay helps you sit up.
You see the rage on Daniëlle's face as she approaches you and Lindsay, and are quick to grab her arm, “Not worth it.” She holds back and sits down by your side. Lindsay says another quick sorry before running off to join her team. The referee had called over the medical team in the meantime. They take a look at the cut, spray it with some disinfectant, and put pressure on it with a piece of gauze.
“I’m fine, I need to finish the game.” The medics look at each other. “Oh, come on, please, I promise you can do whatever you need to do in ten minutes when the game is over.” Since you seem to be fine besides the bleeding from the cut, they agree to let you finish the game. They put a bandage around your arm, before they let you go. Daniëlle helps you up, and runs back to her place on the field. Spitse takes the free kick you earned and kicks the ball forward. Sadly the ball was overtaken by the opponents.
The sweat mixing with the blood is making it look even worse as you bleed through the bandage, and it starts running down your arm. Right now, you don’t care about that, all you care about is the game. Only three minutes left before the time is up. You have to score now, or the game will go into penalties, which you weren’t hoping for.
Beerensteyn has the ball in the far right corner of the field, ready to give an assist to someone in the box, but her ball deflects off of Alex Morgan, earning your team a corner kick. As the last minutes are ticking down, almost your whole team is in or around the box, while Sherida gets ready to take the shot. She raises her hand, signaling that she’s ready to kick the ball. You follow the ball with your eyes as it comes your way. You jump up and head the ball in the direction of the goal. Time seems to slow down as you watch the ball inch closer to the goal.
The crowd erupts in cheer as the ball crosses the line. Your teammates are running towards you from all sides hugging you and patting you on the back. You were in the lead, with only one minute to go! “You did it, baby!” Daniëlle says to you when it’s her turn to hug you.
The game continues as the referee has not yet blown the whistle. The goalkeeper kicks the ball away and as it lands on the field, you hear the whistle. You fall to your knees, happy tears streaming down your face. You scored the winning goal in the world cup final. All the hard work the team poured into this had paid off, you won! Daniëlle is quickly by your side once again, this time only hugging you in joy.
The team celebrates together on the field, while also shaking hands with the American players, and telling them that it was a good game. You take a quick break from celebrating and walk up to the medics, like you promised. They clean out the cut properly and give you a fresh bandage.
You run up to your teammates once you’re done. Grabbing Daniëlle and kissing her. You put your foreheads together, taking in the moment, when a Dutch flag gets thrown at you by one of your teammates. You unfold it and wrap it around the both of you. Hand in hand, you walk towards the section your families are sitting in together, to celebrate it with them as well.
The celebration goes on for a long time, and it will be a day you will remember for the rest of your life. Happy to be able to share it with your girlfriend and your amazing teammates.
