i’ve added some excerpts from this interview about him + of course more on mentions of Wang Yibo & Ruolai.

Weng Liangping, who majored in drama, film and television literature at university, entered the TV drama production center of Jiangxi Radio and Television Station after graduation and worked as a planner and editor for ten years. He has served as the script coordinator for many popular film and television dramas such as "Azalea" and "Feng Yun 1911".

Speaking of his first screenwriting work, Weng Liangping smiled and said: "Because of the artist's reasons, this drama has not been broadcast yet."

In 2018, Weng Liangping resigned from his job in the system and became a full-time screenwriter. "War of Faith" is the first script he wrote independently.

The inspiration for the script came from his work at a television station. When he was looking through materials on the history of the revolution, he accidentally discovered the history of the Soviet State Bank. "Most of the previous dramas that wrote about the history of Jiangxi's revolution (screenwriters) wrote about front-line battles and the story of the barrel of a gun. The money bag, that is, the logistics support such as money and food, was rarely touched upon. "Weng Liangping immediately felt that this was a story worth exploring, but considering the setting of the plot and the shaping of the character's growth, he finally targeted the protagonist at a fledgling young man in the central bank established by the Kuomintang.

Then there are the joining of several young actors. When it comes to starring Wang Yibo, Li Qin, Wang Yang and other actors, Weng Liangping was full of praise. "Wei Ruolai was portrayed very well, like the drunken scene when he was out of the circle, and the scene where he was tortured by Captain Lin in prison. Also when Wei Ruolai's brother passed away, the actor performed the panic and sad feeling. I myself It made me cry.”

The actors' outstanding performances made the characters in Weng Liangping's script come alive.

There is a lot of discussion about the character online. The audience called Shen Tunan a financial tycoon, and gave Wei Ruolai an affectionate nickname: Financial Milk Crocodile.

There were also many enthusiastic viewers who analyzed the historical archetypes of Wei Ruolai and Shen Tunan. Weng Liangping also responded positively to this matter, "Actually, these characters have no fixed prototypes." Talking about the character Wei Ruolai, "He is a little man in the background of the times, smart and stubborn. When facing his master Shen Tunan , and he is very sincere. But behind the sincerity, he has his own opinions and plans for many things."

In addition, the constant output of golden sentences in the play also prompted "War of Faith" to continue to break out of the circle. A set of golden sentences produced by Wei Ruolai in his speech to recover the custody rights of tariffs were also one of the most impressive scenes when Weng Liangping wrote the script. "When I first wrote it, I was thinking about why Wei Ruolai could persuade others. In fact, the people present gathered together for nothing more than profit. And the manifestation of profit was to seize the market. Then I checked various population data at that time , economic data, and with the continuous support of the director team, this speech will be gradually improved."

In the final TV series, Wei Ruolai stood on the stage and gave a passionate unscripted speech, which not only aroused the resonance of the 124 members in the audience, but also burned into the hearts of the audience.

oh i WILL tell you about my mezalea butterfly metamorphosis lore- i fully intend to do so, in fact.

(this is what i have so far and it is very subject to change bUT-)

Mezaleans are butterfly people with wimngs and antennae and whatnot and they're also all canonically asexual (diversity win!) so whenever a couple wants to have a baby they like... ask the Mother Tree or smth and it hatches them a little bouncing baby from a big azalea flower!

The little babies don't have wings but they do have big floppy "antennae" (they're actually called?? tentacles???) and they keep those until they're like 12-13ish.

That's when their body starts to go through ~ cHaNgEs ~

I haven't fully worked it out yet but I swEAR I read in a book somewhere abt a girl who got like.. wing sacs or smth that grew wings later on- so whenever the little kiddos get those then their parents go oop it's time for the Big Sleep(tm)

Which means they pull a silkwing wof and go to the mother tree again where they like crawl into a flower sleeping bag or smth idk yet and they emerge ~10 days later with (droopy, wrinkled, ugly) wings and proper antennae!

For real butterflies the wings only take ~45 minutes to dry and harden but bc I felt mean and the thought of pre-teen prince joel with ugly droopy wings is funny then they don't get fully formed for another three days ^^

And then they're big kids with proper wings and pretty antennae and ahdsjkfas!!! I love butterflies!!!!!

My first real collab, done with Wolvesica on DeviantArt of our IceWing hybrids, Darksnow (their character on the left) and Azalea (mine on the right)! Go follow em over there :v

I did the sketch then lineart for the dragons and coloured the background!

Wolvesica did the colouring and shading for the dragons, and the original lineart for the background! We also added a warm tint for the sunset effects XP

Stone: 0/10 uncreative. not very pretty

Leaf: 0/10 same criticisms as above

Root: 1/10

Pine: 3/10

Grove: 3/10

Foxglove: 5/10

Heath: 6/10 didnt know what this was (it’s an area of uncultivated land), so I think that makes it both more creative and more likely to be a real name. but it’s not very pretty

Rose: 6/10 a solid name, but real ppl r named this so it’s a bit boring

Violet: 6/10 same as above

Daffodil: 7/10

Ivy: 8/10 the same as criticisms I put for rose. but ofc my friend ivy likes it so it gets a higher score, plus ivy isn’t as popular irl as rose is

Cardinal: 8/10

Laurel: 8/10

Rowan: 8/10

Azalea: 9/10

Wren: 9/10

Camellia: 10/10 a flower, probably connotating the character’s perceived beauty and sweetness. Pretty and unique

Alright so!!! I actually had posts for each of my OCs before I accidentally deleted my WOF sideblog and never remade it :’3 So uhhhh heres some pics

Shiver and Dreamy are half siblings on their Dad’s side. Their father was a nightwing who fell in love with an Icewing and convinced her to run away, but she lived on an island in the outskirts of the volcano in hiding. She regretted her actions, but couldn’t leave because she was in Exile for fraternizing with the enemy. They had their first egg together, Shiver, when she was still somewhat sane. She was slowly driven crazy by the heat and isolation, and Shiver often had to take care of herself.

Their father actually needed up falling in love with another nightwing, Silvertongue, and had an egg with her. However, he realized his mistake, and it a fit of panic he stole the egg from Silver and gave it to Shiver’s mother, convincing her it was her own egg in her somewhat insane state. Still, when it hatched, Shiver acted more like a mother to Dream than their real mother ever did- and their father no longer came around.

So, Shiver and Dream need up running away, and currently live sort of as nomads, stopping wherever they want and avoiding being caught by anyone who might wish to hurt them for their species or her hybrid status.

Silvertongue is a pure nightwing that believes that her only egg (dreameater) is dead, and became somewhat bitter after that. When she was young she found an animus touched object; a small, silver tongue piercing that makes people listen to what she says, and can influence them to believe her words are truth or to do as she says. It does not force, and if theyre strong willed, it doesnt make them, it just helps to persuade. I’m considering having her fall in love with a Raining but uhhhh ill cross that bridge when i come to it idk

Oracle is another hybrid of mine, being a nightwing/seawing.

When they were just a small hatching, their parents took them to the searing queen and begged her to let them stay and not to hurt their hatchling. She agreed, but instead of killing the hatching, she cut out all of it’s webbing and it’s eyes and cast them into the sea.

Because of their half nightwing status, however, they have the power to see what is- it’s not the future, or the past, its simply an ability to know what is. This allowed them to live to adulthood in isolation and fear of there dragons, and eventually make home in a small sea cavern. They’ve become sort of an urban legend- some say if you find a certain cave in the sea, and bring the creature there an offering, they can give you the truth. They now have eyes made of sea glass and adorn themselves in jewels and other things they’ve collected.

Gem is a rainwing that somehow ended up in with a clutch of Mudwings (so, not a hybrid, but raised as a Mud). He was raised along with hem, and despite knowing how different Gem is, they consider him as part of their troop. His bigwigs is Everglade, but the rest of his siblings are Toad, Cicada, Sawgrass, and Glowfly. He fought alongside them in the war, and in going so, lost his front left leg near the elbow along with a myriad of other scars. He now lives in peace with his siblings in the mud kingdom. Everyone is aware of him, but he’s nice, and a great fighter, so everyone’s pretty chill.

Aloe is a sandwing/seawing hybrid that I haven’t actually developed much? She’s a healer though!

Meerkat is Aloe’s GF, and is pure sanding, but lost half her tail in an accident when she was young. She now works as an author and librarian, and somewhat of an inventor.

Pollywog, Catfish, and Cooter are freshwater Seawings- or, Swampwings as I like to call them. They’re essentially like.. inland, hillbilly seawings.

I’m not entirely sure what their relationship is yet… poly? Siblings? Polly and Cat as siblings and Cooter is a while GF of one of them??? Dunno! I do know what Polly was kidnapped when they were younger, but escaped, which is why they have so many scars.

Azalea, last but not least, is pure Icewing- however, they don’t have any ice powers. This is because his brother, Floe (doesnt belong to me), is a Frostscales- much like how Peril is a fire scales. Their brother ‘stole’ all the ice from him while in the egg, which leaves him a funny pink color instead of the usual ice blue that Icewings are. His original name was Tear, named after the only pink object in the ice kingdom- open flesh.

Because of this ridicule, and the fact they he couldn’t really bear the cold, he fled the Ice kingdom and learned that he actually really likes gardening. He also decided to rename himself Azalea after the flower and start his life over.

Aaaand i think thats all my dragons!

Brittlebones is the only warrior OC i ever really use anymore, honestly. She’s a large black oriental shorthair, who used to be a Shadowclan medicine cat, but was a warrior for most of her life. She ended up leaving shadowclan with Mourningdove (a Windclanner i think? Maybe Thunderclan), and two other of my friends OCs i cant remember right now. She’s now a medic for the new clan they plan on starting, who’s a pack of Nomads until they can find a place to settle. Unfortunately, most of my pics of her got deleted, so the one one i Have lest is this horrible cropped pic :’3
