Grillby was struck by how vibrantly red it all was.
Happy slightly belated 8th anniversary to Casting Rain by @silverskye13 ! Thanks for writing a great story that got me through some stuff in 2020 and was one of the big reasons I got into longform writing (and actually stuck with it for once).
heavily referenced from a stock by @null-entity, who posted the pose with absolutely amazing timing. wouldn't have had the guts to try foreshortening otherwise. thanks!
also shoutout to @casting-horsepiss as always for reminding me the anniversary week even is a thing

I like the thought of Ichigo’s uncertainty about where he and Grimmjow now stand after TYBW.
he’s just wallowing in confusion, bc “what did it all mean??”. he doesn’t understand whether they’re allies now, or was it just temporary? could they become friends? are they going to have all those fights he promised Grimmjow? and Grimmjow is anything BUT confused, at least about the relationship he has with Kurosaki.
so in true asshole cat nature he hisses and scratches, he shouts and growls, but at the same time he follows Ichigo around whenever and wherever he sees him, he inches closer when they sit in Urahara’s shop, he’s even more tactile inside a fight and right after one, sometimes even with no fight at all. but, because he’s, as was previously mentioned, an asshole cat, an especially prideful one at that, he does it all while spitting venom left and right, what seems like seconds away from scratching Kurosaki’s eyes out.
Grimmjow finds his own behaviour embarrassing, bc “oh my god, I’m so obvious I might as well roll over in his lap and show my belly”. all the while Ichigo is a big orange question mark going “why does he hate me still?? :((“
everyone is exasperated, Urahara is on the brink of caving and meddling, but Yoruichi forbids him from doing so, because it’s hilarious to her.
one time Grimmjow was so uncharacteristically (in Ichigo’s opinion) peaceful and nice, nice to HIM(!!!!), that Ichigo pulls Urahara aside to ask if the arrancar has split personalities. Urahara just kind of stands there at first, then turns around without words and goes for a bottle of his strongest sake.

idk about you but I'm really not liking all this l**do talk about going to red bull and how helmut is after his agent and his dad and how he's SO FUNNY MUCH TROLL and started to follow them... I don't like it
i agree with you but here's the thing-
1) lando would literally never in a million years. mclaren is literally built around him and him alone, in what world would his fragile ego allow him to leave that dream scenario just to play second fiddle to max. and that's not even getting into the zak/quadrant or his dad's team investment of it all!! plus with the silverstone result, you just knooooowww he's fully back in on the bullshit zak brown has been selling about properly challenging in 2025 (if he was ever truly on it to begin with, which i doubt 😭)....and at that point, again, why leave just to be second to somebody else
2) helmut marko is squarely to blame for this entire fucking NVD situation. both the hiring AND firing were his doing, it was his idea to go outside of the red bull system based on one (1) single result, and at that point you have to wonder if he has enough leverage in the team right now to be pushing for yet another outside hire, especially when you've got christian (and camp verstappen!) seemingly backing daniel, who's quite literally waiting in the wings

watching debates on abortion rights is so insane to me. you’ll have pro lifers say stuff like getting an abortion is the same as murdering a born child and then that very same person agreeing that women should never be shamed for getting an abortion because “it’s a difficult decision”. girl you believe them to be murderers? I can’t think of anyone who should feel more ashamed than people who kill their children, it’s just that I don’t think abortion is the same as murder. Things aren’t adding up, you’re not as good of a person as you think you are babe

"Maybe..." Randall murmured, still perplexed by Renfield's reaction-all the time he'd known the little guy, he'd been friendly to everyone, even people who didn't like him. Minnie constantly scooted him and the other strays away, but Renfield adamantly rubbed up against her legs when she was out on the sidewalk, undeterred by her dislike for him. So for him to just randomly get all worked up about someone he'd never met before was just...odd.
Still, he tried to brush it off-he also didn't miss the way Emily put on a smile and tried to laugh it off, a part of his heart sensing she was a little hurt by this response. Hoping to make her feel better about it, he said, "I'm sure he's just having an off day; don't take it too personally. I've had cats crawl all over me one day and want nothing to do with me the next, it's just how they are. Renny will probably be back later-maybe he'll be in a better mood by then."
"Since when did you get two lunchbreaks, Randy?"
"Just having a little something extra, Dave," Randall groaned, pausing to grab a napkin as he finished his sandwich, just as one of his coworkers had come downstairs for a smoke break-Dave was one of the more irritating coworkers he had to put up with on a daily basis; he insisted he was just an easy-going guy who liked a good joke, but his jokes were often hurtful and very seldom funny. Considering his idea of comedy was calling Randall "Randy" (which he had never gone by, even as a boy, and couldn't hardly stand as a nickname), it told him a lot about Dave's sense of humor (or lack thereof).
"And can I help you find anything, beautiful?" Dave asked, having noticed Emily and put on a smile, leaning up against the counter, his cigarette tucked behind his ear. "Maybe a date for Friday night? Pretty flower like you shouldn't have to hang out with a real weed like ol' Randy here."
