Last week was Patron Suggestion Week, and you miiight have noticed I didn’t post anything about it. But that’s not to say I wasn’t drawing. I was just having some trouble 1) finding time to draw and 2) actually drawing this thing. @windriderlirian had asked for a “Witchy Aesthetic Room,” which I was all too happy to oblige. But drawing a whole room is a lot of work. I got overwhelmed with possibilities of what kind of witch, what kind of things should go in the room, what kind of room is it, how to arrange the furniture and architecture, and of course getting the perspective correct! I actually started the picture three times. One on paper, which I wasn’t happy with. Then digital with grids, and I was immediately disenchanted. Then I just started drawing without worrying too much about it. And that’s when it finally got fun. Half way through the pencils I checked my perspective, and made some corrections. But then I was a bit lazy about it, and when it came to inking I did the rug all wrong. So I scanned it, and tried to find the correct perspective for it by trying to put my guidelines back in. But I was doing it wrong somehow. Luckily @elaine.m.will came to my rescue and helped me fix it. Then I was able to make the correct guidelines for the rug, printed it out again, and drew in all the rug designs. I also printed it at a larger size than the original, for easier colouring of all those details. Anyways, I’m still colouring it this week. Maaaybe I’ll finish colouring tomorrow?? TL;DR : Witchy rooms are fun. But perspective is not.
