When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
Matthew 2:10
The wise men were looking for the Messiah with much diligence. They travelled from a far, following the star. The star led them to the place where the Messiah Himself was. When they saw Him, they fell on their knees and worshipped Him. The Lord Jesus continues to light the way for anyone who seeks to worship Him. Seek Him with diligence as did the wise men. You will find Him. That’s His promise.

Matthew 2:9-10 (NLT) - After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the Child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!

If the wise men were just a little wiser...
___
JOKE-OGRAPHY: In the story this cartoon is based on, the three wise men are traveling to see the newborn Jesus, believing Him to be the new King of the Jews according to some astronomical prophecy.  On the way there, they stop to see Herod, the current king of the Jews, who's disturbed by the news that there's a new king.  He asks the wise men to come back to him once they find this "new king" so he can also go and do Him homage, but his actual intentions are to send soldiers to kill Jesus once he knows His location.  The wise men don't catch onto his evil scheme, but after they find Jesus and share gifts with Him, they're warned in a dream to return home by another way so Herod can't figure out exactly where Jesus is.  In this cartoon, Herod's scheme is slightly less subtle.

I was racing with the wise men from the Bible but I was moving at 11 frames per second with no camel (they had one) and still won.

Feliz día de Reyes Magos - Happy Wise men day
Tumblr media
Previous: Christmas
Part 2: when people ask me for a continuation.
If you saw Hetalia you will understand this story better. Sweden's T-shirt has the Regis from Pokemon.
Some hispanic countries celebrate the 3 Wise Men day. Each country celebrate it in a different way.
In my country:
kids have to place 2 plates under the christmas tree: one with grass or lettuce, and the other with water. For the Wise Men's camels.
all have to place a pair of shoes under the tree to get presents next to them.
go to church or attend a parade
This comic was going to be a continuation of what he had drawn at Christmas.
The designs of the clothes of the kings are based on the figures of the christmass dolls we have at home.
According to the novel Ben-Hur the Wise Men are from:
India (Melchior)
Greece (Casper)
Egypt (Balthasar)

“Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him.”
(Matthew 2:2)
Imagine arriving at your destination after two long years of travel, only to be told, "He is not here". The magi went in search of the King, but couldn't find Him in the palace. But they didn’t relent. They had come this far, and they weren’t giving up now.
How often we give up seeking the Lord! We stop going to church, stop reading the word stating flimsy reasons.
If we’re serious about searching for God, we won’t let anything get in our way. The Bible says that if we seek Jesus with all our heart we will find Him. God will reveal Himself to us, regardless of who we are.
Dear God, I’ve been searching for answers. I believe You sent Your Son into the world to bring joy and meaning to people like me. It’s hard to imagine such grace. Lord Jesus, I ask You to come into my life and be my Lord.. In Jesus' name. Amen

♪♫♬ Here he comes in a palanquin, on the back of an elephant ♪♫♬
With apologies to the Decembrists (the band), but I only just noticed that one of the wisemen is riding an elephant in this detail from this fifteenth-century Book of Hours (prayer book).
The prayer book was probably made in France for an English patron during the waning years of the Hundred Years War (c. 1440-1450). Now Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS. Auct. D. inf. 2. 11, fol. 81v Image source x
