why does dental care in the usa SUCK
#camera talks#trying to get my fucking wisdom teeth out because i cant even eat sometimes with the amount of pain i get from them#and fucking no one around here takes the insurance we have (literally teacher's insurance. why don't we care about teachers)#and it just sucks like.#god there is so much pain and genuinely no way for me to get rid of it rn#i make jokes about keeping them in (my way of coping with the situation) like my dad had to (no good insurance either)#but his wisdom teeth are literally falling out now and i dont want that btw!#i would like them out !!#fuck usa health. dental. eye etc care this sucks

so sick and twisted that i can't eat pastries rn
#after my wisdom teeth removal yesterday it was raining rlly hard and i couldn't go out so me and my gf#went to the hospital's cafe and it smelled so good so we bought pastries but i can't eat pastries and i had forgotten that for a second#bc 1. i can't chew bc wisdom teeth. 2. i can't eat greasy food apparently and croissants are greasy and i can't eat anything#i am slowly dying over here btw and i am a lil high on pain meds so i am rlly angry at not being able to eat pastries. or bread.#etcetcétera

i cant believe i have to wake up tommorrow and make PHONE CALLS for APPOINTMENTS that i DONT WANT TO GO TO

“i don’t wanna do it! y/n, hold me!” was the last thing matt cried out before the dentist took him to the back to start working on taking is back teeth out.
after an hour passed you were beginning to wish you had stayed in the room with him, whether it be for his comfort or yours. you weren’t clingy by any means, but you’ve never willingly been separated from him for this long.
both chris and nick left to the mcdonalds across the street, promising to bring back some food as they left you alone in the waiting room. the only thing to you could do as a distraction from boredom was scroll on your phone, and that’s what you did until the receptionist called your name.
“matthews done, honey. in the room down the hall and to the left, okay?” she guided you through. you nodded, giving a quick ‘thank you’ before walking down the layout as she described.
turning the corner, you could already hear matt groaning out incoherent nonsense. you knocked on the door, slowly entering the room in hopes of not disturbing anybody.
matt barely passed a glance your way, before going back to his attempt of removing the gauge from his mouth. you walked closer to him, reaching a hand out to cup his cheek to help comfort the pain away.
he instantly snapped his eyes towards you, raising his eyebrows with surprise. “where’s y/n?” he mumbled. “m’right here, baby.” you reassured. matt shook his head, swiftly pulling your hand away from him. “mm, nuh uh.” he disagreed.
you could only let out a laugh at this behavior, barely sure of how to respond from his claim that you weren’t you.
chris barged in the room with a crumpled bag in his right hand, and a medium sprite in his left. “he ready to go?” he asked, taking the straw in his mouth to sip. you nodded, interlocking your hands with matt’s to try and help him stand.
he was resistant, making a poor attempt at digging his feet into the ground to stop you from taking him anywhere. “babe, cmon. get up.” you finally pulled him up, using all your strength to help stand him up as chris walked over to do that for you.
matt leaned his head on chris’s should, “don’t call me babe! only my baby can call me that.” he exclaimed. chris gave you a look, lightly chuckling as matt whispered in his ear how much he missed you … even with you being right there.
with every sentence matt spoke whilst being dragged to the car, he made it apparent to mumble ‘and i have a girlfriend’ at the end of each one, passing a pure look towards you.
“matt, get in the car.” you sighed. he shook his head, “no! where are you taking me!” he cried out. “home?”
matt leaned back on chris, loudly whispering, “is y/n home? she’s gonna be mad if she finds out another girl is flirting with me..” you let out another sigh at this, pulling your boyfriend off his brother before pushing him in the passenger seat so chris could get in the back next to nick.
you leaned over the console to help pull the seatbelt over matt’s shoulder, but he slapped your hand away “my girl can fight, and she’s not afraid to.” he claimed, tiredly grabbing ahold of the belt himself and pushing down until a ‘click’ could be heard.
you playfully rolled your eyes, mumbling a ‘sure she can’, as you pulled out of the parking lot, following the directions your gps fed you. matt managed to stay silent for most of the ride home, keeping his heavy blue on the blurry scenes through the window.
“you need help? or you good?” nick questioned, leaning forward to look at you. you looked back at him with a reassuring smile, “yeah, go inside and see if we have anything he can still eat.”
nick complied, following chris who was already trailing inside. matt breathed heavy when he realized it was only you two in the car. “you okay, babe?” he truly looked stressed out- which was confirmed with a shake of his head. “what’s wrong?”
“i just want y/n.” his eyes became glossy with tears threatening to spill. your heart throbbed, you knew he was still filled with anesthesia but wasn’t made aware that he’d not be able to recognize that you were right in front of him.
“cmon let’s get inside, yeah?” you tried to lighten his mood. he watched as you exited the car, walking around the front and stopping in front of the passenger door, slowly opening it to not trigger any reaction he might have.
matt nodded you away, “no, lady, go get my girlfriend.” he demanded, “you’re pretty, but my girlfriends prettier than you, and i love her this much.” he stretched his arms as much as he could in the car space. a soft smile plastered on your face as he spoke probably some of the kindest words to be spoken about you.
“matt, baby—“
“no.”
“matt, i am your girlfriend.” matt looked at you in disbelief. he cocked his head to the side, as if he was trying to say ‘really?’.
“no?” he sounded confused. the whole time the kind stranger that he thought was hitting on him was actually just his kind girlfriend.. that was being kind.
“yes baby, it’s me don’t worry.” you grasped his chin, pecking a kiss on his cheek for reassurance. when you pulled away he brought his hand up to the exact spot your lips had been, letting out a gasp.
“y/n! i missed you!” he cheered. you giggled at him, “yeah, i had to hear about it.” you joked. he wobbled at the car, standing straight with your help, “oh.”
“gosh, i thought you were some weird lady putting the moves on me.” your arm was wrapped around his waist as you both walked to the house, “i know, i had to hear about that too.”
“oh.”

≫ Before the whole procedure, she’d definitely try to calm your nerves a little bit. She’d play some of your favorite music in the car ride there and pretty much do anything to distract you from focusing on what was coming
≫ Same thing in the waiting room, holding your hand and simply keeping a fun lighthearted conversation, telling you to “focus on her” the entire time.
≫ When you get called back, she’s coming back with you, no argument about it. Not that you would ever argue. She’s still holding your hand, just a little tighter this time as she can see you getting more nervous with each step you take.
≫ Of course, she’s not allowed back with you to the OR, so in the time you’re away, she’s planning on how to help you feel better when you wake up. She tries not to show it but she’s a little worried too.
≫ Sevika definitely finds you absolutely hilarious when you finally do wake up, and she’s absolutely taking multiple videos and pictures too. She also finds it cute how your words slur a little and your sentences hardly make any sense when she can actually understand them.
≫ However Sevika absolutely hates it whenever you start crying. She does her best to comfort you and stop the ever flowing tears but it doesn’t do much and she might get a little lost. Especially when you start crying about how you miss her, even though she’s right there holding your hand.
≫ After you two leave she’s giving you anything you ask for. Cuddles? Done. A movie that she absolutely hates? She’s watching it anyway. A nap together? She’s carrying you to the bed before you can even finish asking.
≫ Once you’re able to eat again, she’s making or buying everything you’re craving. It doesn’t matter to her if it’s something crazy, like ice cream for breakfast or pizza from down the street at 2am. She’s getting it for you.
≫ And best believe she’s already stocked up on every pain med you’ll need. Something light or something strong, she bought everything already. She’ll even take a moment to gently massage your jaw if you mention it’s sore or stiff.
≫ Absolutely won't let you out of her sight until you’re completely recovered. She just really loves taking care of you, and will absolutely go the extra mile when she gets the chance.

Btw I'm still alive I've just been swamped with overtime and recovering from wisdom teeth surgery, i had impacted lower wisdom and up until recently, was in too much pain and sleepy to be online or stream.
I'm doing better, though I still have a lot of overtime so I've been super busy.
That said, just here to say I am alive.
Also at this point, I will give my brainworms what they want: Gojo and Nana having a baby.
Will be the weirdest kid around, but also imagine Gojo moving around with a baby carrier on his chest and the babbu sleeping and he's doing his usual bullshit.
Hilarious. Also yes, everyone is horrified. Because who let him procreate?

hi anon! First off, oof, good luck with your widsom teeth! I had mine done in October ish so I'll put some unsolicited advice under a cut (in case you want to skip it lol)
some of my faaaavorite fics (and I'm sure I'll forget some):
@neutron-stars-collision 's Waiting for the Night is set just before and during the events of the film and I love it--it's ongoing but very close to completion and has the best angst/ idiots to lovers plot
@punchdrunkdoc has a brilliant slow burn with an OC that I adore (I know a lot of people prefer reader insert but trust me, this fic is amazing!) Just Breathe is definitely a permanent favorite
@whats-rambled-rambled has a mini series that I still reread because it's so beautiful, it starts with the one called the way down! (which btw is a song I became obsessed with because of this fic, and I still listen to it on the regular)
@devilfic has an ongoing series I'm obsessed with called right place, right time
@zipperzoo my bestie has an ongoing series (on hiatus but still worth checking out!) called fight to make it up and honestly it's hilarious and fun and the right amount of angst
Again I'm sure I've left people out, so feel free to use this as a rec post too and comment your fic or your faves! These are just the ones off the top of my head
now for unsolicited wisdom teeth advice!
for me, it just...sucked for a while. However! Icing it every 20-30 minutes for the first day or two definitely helped with the pain. I also slept propped up because laying on my side or all the way flat made my whole head hurt for some reason
make sure to take breaks icing it! Also, don't ice it past day 2.
Take your medications! I only used the hardcore pain meds for maybe day 1 and 2 and then switched to only taking it at night but taking a shit ton of ibuprofen during the day--that's just personal preference though because the pain meds made me feel too drowsy (100% listen to the surgeon's advice on this though!)
do not use a fucking straw for at least a week. DO NOT USE A STRAW. I'm sure they told you this but seriously....don't do it. Even when you start to feel better in a few days don't do it, give your mouth time to heal over! Listen to the instructions on this for sure!! I'm a bit anal with this stuff so I actually avoided a straw for a month lmao but whatever timeline they give you, stick to that, minimum
Don't forget to brush your teeth. It will hurt the first few days but you have to keep your mouth clean!
And last but not least unless I randomly remember something: hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. You won't be eating much for a few days so water is your new best friend to stay alive. Also it'll help with healing. Get a big ass cup and refill it often, trust me on this

hey i dunno how old you are but that teeth thing is pretty normal and happens to like literally everyone its just that most people go through it as a kid or teenager
basically theres more adult teeth than there are baby teeth so some of them come in through the gums rather than from spots where teeth have fallen out
wisdom teeth work in the same way but for most people (not everyone) they dont fit properly + not everyone has wisdom teeth
btw if your teeth coming in is painful you can get teething gel (generally sold for kids/babies) that numbs the gum a bit to make it easier to ignore
okay but the normal amount of adult teeth (including wisdom teeth) is 32
I have 34, potentially 36
That is, indeed, more than usual
