NaNoWriMo 2020: DAY TWENTY-SEVEN
Friday, November 27th
Stuff That Happened: Thankfully I had a coherent enough outline that I was able to follow to complete part 2. Goal has been met, plus a few hundred words of outlines and random bits here and there outside of the coffee shop AU. It was a decent writing day. Gearing up for the final stretch.
Tomorrow’s Goal: Part 3 of the Wickodi portion of the coffee shop AU. Which means part 4 is the goal for the 29th, when I would hopefully have completed the 50k goal required for NaNo. If not, I’ll just write a whole load of who knows what on the 30th and validate my win then.

Rough Draft Sneak Peek: Wickodi Coffee Shop AU
“You know.” Julia peers at the cover of his book upside-down and recognizes it instantly. “I got an A on this last semester. Professor March is really big on theories, but you won’t be tested on who-said-what-when. And his test questions are open-ended. You can make a case for pretty much anything so long as you got the basic facts right.”
His eyes crack open with a ray of hope that is so unlike him, Julia almost laughs again. “I’ve got no money to pay for tutoring.”
“Who said anything about payment?”
“What’s the catch?”
“You need to start saying good morning to Quentin. And stop calling him a loser.”
“Fuck,” Penny says. He opens his mouth and closes it again, then puts his face in his hands. “I hate you both.”
“No, you don’t,” she insists.
“I am not going to be nice to that overgrown child.”
“Is your pride so important that you’d rather flunk out? I hear this class is required for your major.” Julia straightens, trying and probably failing to look taller against a guy whose shadow looms over her across the table. “Kady told me.”
Penny’s nostrils flare in a way that vaguely resembles an angry dragon. Bringing up his ex rubs him in exactly the way Julia wants. “Didn’t know you cared about leverage.”
“Just doing my job as a best friend.”
