Here's Cucurucho and Oscurucho's long lore conversation from yesterday! The entire conversation lasted about 8 minutes, but most of that time was just silence between each exchange, so I edited out the long pauses and got it down to ~3 minutes. I also fixed the audio levels and added subtitles since I personally find it difficult to understand Oscurucho sometimes :'D

The fourth image is a coloured scene depicting Tervis and Clara. They are central in the composition; around them is the steppe, which has been rendered in a loose, painterly style. Tervis is kneeling, their walking staff cast aside, and are reaching out their hands to Clara in a desperate, pleading gesture. They are crying, their face contorted in an expression of agonised ecstasy. Clara stands beside them, one hand reaching out, the other held above Tervis’s head as though about to touch their brow. She has a solemn, pained expression. Behind her head, a break in the dark clouds gives the impression that she is haloed by sunlight; rays of the same light fall onto Tervis, illuminating their face and red robe. End ID. /

i think i need to start drawing other people's OCs

Candela Obscura is very fun in terms of horror, because I have never been particularly bothered by horror, but when I have been, I'm always like, is this because of how I react in particular or because of how effective the visuals or the atmosphere are? And that's kind of hard to differentiate in the genre people most often consume horror in (film) and for me, who reads books very visually, it can be hard in that format as well.

With Candela it's like, this is deeply unsettling despite there being no visuals beyond the general set and the action being dictated to me while mechanics are happening, which is something that can take absolutely you out of the atmosphere of the thing. Even if you're used to the actual play format, a mechanics heavy scene especially without notable GM guiding is going to remind you that you are watching people play a game. There's a lot to say about how this show's cast have phenomenal grasp of the genre and the atmosphere, but even then, it is a hard line to manage, and they are doing it masterfully. And that's what makes it so fun as a concept! Candela has very effective storytelling, but it's also a lot easier to see the edges of the story, because the "man behind the curtain" of the story so to speak is on full display.

Anyway, this is a long-winded way of saying that I really have confirmed I have no issue with horror, because I passed out instantly upon going to bed and then let a lab tech take my blood this morning without even thinking of making some eldritch monster joke. Which is, not gonna lie, a little bit wild to me.

for those unaware, imagine a dude who is constantly a damsel in distress, and terrified a lot of the time but still does what he thinks is right. and a girl who is his stoic and staunch protector, very much down to flirt/get physically affectionate, puts the dude's wellbeing above her own, and is a witch who primarily uses fire and bursts into flames (also they were childhood friends but for some reason dude doesn't remember it). also the dude's got his own sorta fire powers and a lot of people are after him, but dw about that :)

Randy FINALLY getting a beat between customers and having someone cover the front and speed walking to the walk in cooler with clenched fists. one of those insane days where it's difficult customers one after the other nonstop. wanting to whip the door open and slam it behind him but 1. he wouldn't make a scene like that and 2. walk in doors don't work like that anyway. he finally gets in and the cool air hits his face and fills his lungs and he starts feeling better little by little. leaning his forehead against the shelves and trying to slow his breathing. he hears the door open and holds in a groan, rolling his eyes behind closed lids, expecting someone to tell him there's a line up out front, but no voice comes, even when he hears the door close. he turns around to see Benson standing quietly with his hands flicking at his sides. this day has sucked for him too just. differently. neither one speaks for a while, but it's benson who breaks the silence with "i just wanted to make sure you're okay..."

kitchen is hell. it's too fucking hot and no one's listening and All the timers are going off and benson has been yelling for ppl to get their shit together and shut the fucking timer off and all the sounds and sights and sensations finally pile up and what pushes him over the edge is when he fumbles and drops his spatula. it's not the end of the world but in that situation it might as fucking well be. he picks it up and hurls it into the dish pit, narrowly missing whoever's washing dishes, and storming into the walk in. Randy, in between listening to customers and punching in orders, pays quiet attention to all of this. when he sees Benson head for the walk in, he quickly finishes with the customer in front of him and pulls someone else onto register, claiming he needs a bathroom break. benson strikes me as the hitting the walk in door type and plus those things are almost indestructible. Randy times his entrance between dull thuds coming from the other side. pulls the door open to see Benson with his fist cocked, arm dropping as soon as he sees Randy's gentle, understanding face. he takes a couple steps back, letting Randy fully enter. tears starting to pool in benson's eyes

11pm in manchester airport plane landed at 10pm after being DELAYED AND ANNOYING AND EVERYTHING WRONG WITH RYANAIR for over an hour. when is my train home from this godforsaken city you ask? 5am. good job im stuck in arrivals where there are no coffee shops or even regular charging ports haha. so glad to be spending the next six hours sat by the squeaky baggage claim machine. thank god my mum was sympathetic about it right haha… right????

Having demand avoidance in a medical setting is literally hell. Like, patient autonomy is already absolute ass. It's only made worse when doctors CONSISTENTLY tell you what to do and act like you HAVE to do it instead of consulting with you first like normal fucking people.

getting a sudden resurgence of art motivation is such a blessing and a curse tbh. bc on one hand im drawing a lot and having a lotta fun doing so but on the other hand i wanted to make Even More secret stuff for atbb that requires drawing so i told myself i would make a few very sketchy things that would have to be quick and don't have to be Insane Awesome Quality since they'll be blurry as hell in the final product anyway and i have like less than a week / a couple days at most to get it all ready in time

so anyways now it's 3am and i just finished the first of what i still want to do after 3 days
