I have so much nervous excited energy for Ezra’s return. Because it could literally be ANYTHING. Like we have zero clues where he is or what condition he‘s in.
Maybe he’s just trapped on some random planet in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of Purgill.
Maybe Thrawn imprisoned him and he hasn’t seen the light of day since his sacrifice.
Maybe he’s free but something happened to cause him to purposefully isolate himself.
Maybe he’s fighting the remnants of the Empire on some far-away system.
Maybe he’s on Mortis or that spooky-looking planet Yoda visited in the Clone Wars, learning about the deep secrets of the force.
Maybe somebody froze him in carbonite.
Maybe he’s been desperately searching for his family, but the galaxy is just too big for him to find them on his own.
And does even he know the Emperor and Vader were defeated? Does he know Lothal is thriving again? Does he know that everything he fought so hard for paid off? Is he hurt? Is he brainwashed? Is he cut off from the Force? IS HE OKAY???
We just don’t know!! And it’s driving me crazy!!

I really like when people draw older Ezra as just a super scruffy wildman. He's out in wild space getting wild, hopefully chilling now and again.

It’s summer, it’s hot, so obviously I’m down at my local BBQ place getting absolutely soaked with saucy wings and greasy brisket and my partner turns to me and says, “Damn, you are lost in that sauce!” I say “How so?” And he said,
“You are so lost, Ima have to start calling you Ezra.”
😭😭😭

I’ve heard and read some interesting theories on whether Sabine will be revealed as force sensitive in the Ahsoka show or not. They could go a lot of different ways with this but here’s what I’m hoping for:
Sabine is NOT force-sensitive in the Jedi sense, but she trained with Ahsoka to become more in tune with the force inside her.
The reason I don’t want Sabine to be force-sensitive is that it just doesn’t make sense. Surely Kanan, Ezra, or Ahsoka would have sensed her power during Rebels. At least during her dark saber training if not earlier. Also, Sabine is a great character and a capable warrior without the force. Tacking force powers on now seems unnecessary and doesn’t follow from her pre-established rebels storyline.
That being said, I still think it would be cool if Ahsoka was training Sabine in the ways of the Force— just not as a force user in the typical sense. Canonically the Force is found within all living things— as Obi-Wan says, it surrounds us and penetrates us and binds the galaxy together. The Force is not unique to the Jedi, it’s part of the very fabric of the universe.
Certain beings are more sensitive to the Force than others (hence the term force-sensitive) and these beings can, with training, learn to manipulate it and feel it more directly. On the molecular level, every creature has a few midichlorians, but only those with high enough counts can become force-users like Jedi. Higher midichlorians counts correlate with more sensitivity to the force. For example Anakin and members of Yoda’s species have high counts and lots of force power, whereas average citizens have near-zero counts and no force powers.
What we haven’t seen much of on screen is characters without strong force-sensitivity who get themselves in tune with the force.
With focus and training, I think a person could meditate, learn to feel the Force, and even connect with a kyber crystal, without the capacity for force jumps and Jedi mind tricks. It would be sort of like following the Jedi religion without having the superpowers. Like a passive instead of active relationship with the force.
And I think this might be the kind of relationship with the force Ahsoka was (is??) training Sabine to achieve.
If any non-force-sensitive would have the motivation and ability to become more aware of the force within her, it would be Sabine. She was incredibly close with Kanan and Ezra, and due to repeatedly seeing them and the inquisitors in action, she has no reason to doubt the existence or the power of the force. All the force-related shenanigans experienced by her family on the ghost probably made her curious about the Force and led her to deeply appreciate it.
So, I’m picturing that after Kanan’s death and Ezra’s disappearance, Sabine decides she wants to connect herself with this mysterious “Force”. Maybe as a part of her grieving process, maybe as a way of honoring their memory, maybe as a solution to finding Ezra…maybe a combination of all three. Whatever the case, she begins her force journey, and Ahsoka agrees to train her.
…and then something apparently goes wrong, but I guess we’ll find that out in the show!

Star Wars Rebels thoughts
Even though they tried to justify it, I still think it would have worked better if Kanan was the one to disappear (but in S4) and Ahsoka actually died, no take-backs, in S2.
Also, I’d have far preferred it if Jacen was an adopted kid of Hera and Kanan. Setting aside the hybrid impossibility (even if it was a Force-given miracle, it still squicks me), what Hera endured while captive was... not conducive to pregnancy, and I hate it.
The main positive of the final eps of S4 was Ezra. He’s amazing, and that character arc across the seasons was very well done. I teared up at “one last time”. That was “in service of the plot” done right.
Kanan’s end wasn’t, and Ahsoka’s part of the S2 finale would have had even more impact if her end was definitive. Just... replace Ahsoka with Kanan (and/or Ezra, once, you know, he’s actually found) in any later Star Wars media, and be done with it.
(We just finished watching Rebels last week and... yeah.)

Message to Ezra Bridger
Hello
I know that you’re probably feeling hopeless right now. So wherever you are, I just want to say that you have brought hope to so many. Hera is pregnant if you can believe it, I guess Kanan did the deed just in time. We all knew of Kallus’s guilt for a long time, but I guess it’s over now. Zeb was able to board a ship that was willing to go to Lasan. As for me, I have spent a long time living here on Lothal without the rest of our family. Cleaning up the streets of Imps and helping rebuild has taken up the majority of my time, every day. Though on occasion I get bombarded by children with difficult questions about your heroism. Which I’m super jealous for by the way, I always was though. You were the one who was special, the one with the powers, and the destiny. I was the one who had skills that I spent years perfecting, and then you come along. You were simply innocent, inexperienced, and I hated that. I’m sorry about that, your life had already been rough before you met me, and I made it worse. Though what surprised me the most was that after all I had done to you. You still were wanting my affection, and stars I hate to say you succeeded in that regard. So…Please come back home.
Love Sabine.
