convenience store woman by sayaka murata -one of my fave books of all timeeeeee. its basically about a woman who just doesnt fit in into 'normal' society and even tho she's happy ppl feel like she shouldnt be bc she's not progressing w everyone else. if you've been the weird girl ever this book will
ring shout - p djeli clark. a historical fiction novel where the kkk are like demons and theres this organization of black hunters. its action packed but what makes it so amazing is the emotional growth of the characters :') an all time fave
the vanishing half - brit bennett. another AMAZING historical fiction book. its abt family lines....and colorism and twins and what it means to be white passing and privilege and generational trauma. it honestly has toni morrison core vibes where there's a lot of pain but thru love all is healed!
there's no such thing as an easy job by kikuko tsumura. a bit of an eclectic read. this woman takes on different jobs and they each give her grief in a new way. very relatable esp if you hate your job 😭
the vegetarian by han kang. THEE GOAT. i will recc this book until the day i DIE. and even then. its technically a horror story abt the fallout after a woman has a dream/vision and decides to stop eating meat but its sooo much deeper than that. its such a great look at how, as a woman, everything abt you is subject to critique down to what you eat
parasite eve. thee classic scifi horror the video game was inspired by! think frankenstein but there's a love story underneath. but also you question if it was love at all bc what if the mitochrondria inside of us are just manipulating everything we do? i loved it! writing style is a bit clinical but idc
my sister the serial killer by oyinkan braithwaite...i read this one in a single day it was THAT GOOD. sister is a serial killer and the fucking implications and fucked up shit that comes from lookism and family expectations and misogyny tbh. love it~
annihilation by jeff vandermeer. the first in a series but you can just read the first one. its sooooooooooooooooooo good. its a scifi book about this mysterious barrier off the coast that's slowly expanding and inside nature is reclaiming its space and most everyone that enters the barrier never returns.....another quick read bc it will have you HOOKED
yellowface by r f kuang. i don't usually enjoy satire but r f kuang really TOOK IT THERE. this is the most infuriating book you'll ever read but in the best way. this white author w an inferiority complex objectifies her friend that she secretly hates and then steals her friend's book. only thing is the friend is proudly asian and her book is abt specific cultural history so the white girl does diet yellowface and is just a massive bitch
beloved by toni morrison. how do you sum up beloved? i cannot sum up beloved. if i had to sum up beloved i would say 'love is a haunting but not every haunting is love and the only thing that can clear a haunting is love'
in the dream house by carmen maria machado. god probably the best prose i've read all year. a really beautiful but bittersweet autobiographical novel about a bisexual woman's experience with a fucked up abusive relationship and how subtle abuse can be. heavy subject matter but handled soooo beautifully.
the only good indians by stephen graham jones. WHEW. this is a horror......and this book will take you for a fucking ride i'll tell you that. its abt a group of native american men who were childhood friends and due to one mistake they're all haunted by...something that wants to get revenge on them. this book had me going 'DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?' multiple times

Well, at the very least, I'm happy to see an entire special centered around my favorite boi.
Okay, as for how I rate 「Super Danganronpa 2.5: Komaeda Nagito」、I think I'd rate it 9/10. I loved the idea, the story, and the way it was centered around my favorite character in the whole francise. I extremely enjoyed how wholesome the friendship of Fuyuhiko, Kazuichi, and Nagito was. However, I was confused as to what was happening during the majority of it. And while there's nothing necessarily WRONG with that, I'm still confused as to why he would've wanted to be friends with Kazuichi and Fuyuhiko, of all people. I would've found it more realistic if it was instead Chiaki and Hajime. I also wonder how he knew that Hajime and Izuru were the same person from the moment he woke up, even though he was dead and not present furing the big reveal at the end of the second game. I'm also curious as to why he despised talent in the weird virtual world. It's likely that they answers to all those questions were obvious and I'm just a huge idiot tho. Overall, it was nice to see what could've been of Nagito, and to discover how much he actually does value friendship. It helped understand and grow to know better the lovable, chaotic boi that we all either love or hate, known as Nagito Komaeda.

A direct protégé of Retsu Unohana, and a pacifist at heart. Has a few fanclubs dedicated to her around Seireitei. Her mother, Junko Kaname, happens to supervise some of them.
Don’t be fooled by that sweet smile though: Miss Kaname only took one shot from her bow to decimate two Menos Grandes.
Sayaka Miki

Shikai: Baiki Ningyō (Song Princess Mermaid)
Bankai: Taibaku Ranki Ningyō (Rampaging Tempest Princess Mermaid)

If you want some matchmaking done, Miss Miki is your (wo)man! She has (self) proclaimed to be the ‘Matchmaking Guru’, that can hook you up with your crush in three days!
The catch is that you have to survive those three days. From injuries. Like frostbite. And other bodily harm. Captain Unohana gives that resident Magical Girls who have adorable teensy crushes on Captain Hitsugaya should just stick to chocolate or confessions.
A fun-loving prankster, and a friend who will beat up anyone that looks at you bad! Watch out for her temper though– Miss Miki can swing that club one-handed, and with stellar aim.
Homura Shiba (Previously, Akemi),

Profile:
The Princess of the Shiba Family, who often gets mistaken as a Kuchiki, much to her chagrin. Princess Shiba is oft called ‘Homura-chan’ by close friends, and sometimes, due to slip of tongue, ‘Akemi.’ Sometimes playfully called ‘Stopwatch’ or ‘Stranger Danger.’
If she is within the Tenth, Princess Shiba can drop from loyally serious and savvy subordinate, to deadpan playful tease, along with Lieutenant Matsumoto, much to Captain Hitsugaya’s chagrin. If in the Second, Princess Akemi is the protégé of Flash Goddess Yoruichi, and Captain Sui Feng. On working hours, she is efficient, deadly, and silent; and works well in espionage. Off assassin mode, Homura Shiba frequents cat cafes jointly opened by the Shiba and Kaname around the Shopping District. She gets on quite well with Captain Sui Feng.
Although she may seem prim and proper at a glance, Princess Shiba has a petty streak a mile wide, and a mischievous side just as long. Often seen discussing classic human literature with her big brother, Ichigo Kurosaki, she is a supporter of the arts.
Though calm and collected, Princess Shiba packs one hell of a punch when push comes to shove. True to the explosive natures of the Shiba Clan, she gracefully sets fire to her enemies–and watches them burn.

I’ve been thinking of a plot for a Madoka Magica x The Umbrella Academy crossover. A kinda summary (Back of the book kinda summary not a whole plot summary) is in the read more. At this point it’s kinda like an AU.
Basically, Homura and the other girls were born under the same circumstances as the Umbrella Academy. (Mami is aged down and Nagisa is aged up(yes shes included too) to fit Madoka and the others age, which also doesn’t matter cus they’re all aged up anyway.)They all have slightly altered powers to fit better with TUA universe
Mami Tomoe- I’m not completely sure how to put her weapon(ribbon that can become anything as long as she knows how it works) So here's two ideas.
- Alchemy, basically can make one thing into another as long as she understands the thing she’s making and the thing has the volume(?) as the thing she wants to change it to.
-OR the more fun option! She’s made out of ribbons that can change into things. If i’m correct, in the last scene of s2, there is a floating fucking cube so this idea isn’t that out there. So if she wanted to get a gun, she’d need to trade in her arm for a brief period. Also if she got shot she could partially “unravel” where she was shot. Idk I thought it’d be fun to see animated or something.
Sayaka Miki- Healing(but unable to heal others) and eventual resistance to pain. Basically the same as regular Sayaka. Yeah her magic isn’t her swords it her healing, I thought the healing was a secondary ability (Like how Mami’s main is basic ribbons but they can also change form)
Kyoko Sakura- I don’t know?? Kyoko’s only ability is spear and barrier?? Nothing that would work in something like TUA?? Help????
Nagisa Momoe- I also have no idea?? Maybe something to do with her bubble ability or maybe food manipulation idk?
Homura Akemi- Time manipulation. Easy. Basically 5′s ability but instead of being able to teleport back in time it’s rewinding time backwards. So only one of Homura can exist in one timeline. This power can even redo 5 jumping back in time. The trade off is that she can only travel 1 month back in time and has to wait a month for that it recharge. Also instead of 5′s teleportation she has a time stop ability.
Madoka Kaname- Magic absorption. Grows stronger when magic/powers are used. She can put that energy into weapons so they hit harder(like she can put magic into her arrows). By the start of this crossover/au she’s literally shaking with how unknowing powerful she is. She suffers a similar fate as Vanya but instead of her power being uncontrollable, know one knew. This is probably my favourite power i’ve thought of tho maybe an idea for Kyoko/Nagisa may top this.
Basically most of the group become a late Umbrella Academy, joining together at age 14 and (most) still having parents. But, you may have a question, where’s Kyubey? Well, they’re also apart of the school, as a student.
Kyubey(refuses to say real name)- Genie. Basically the same as the original series. Though instead of the magical girl thing being the cost, it works more like a genie, the wish goes wrong. All girls make a wish but now they kinda need changed, these are the only ideas I have:
Madoka- I want to know my powers!
Homura- I want to protect Madoka! (speed and agility boost)
I have an idea that Kyubey randomly goes missing and joins The Commision, feel like the Handler and Kyubey would get along. Like, there’s no way they wouldn’t join.
So basically they become actual magical girls in Japan until a mysterious threat comes to wipe out Japan a month after the events of the first apocalypse. I have no idea what Walpurgisnacht would be? But she’s there?
Idk abt the Magica Record girls since I never played the game but whatever. So actual plot now!
After a few thousand cycles, Homura realises that shit happened in America and goes to ask Five for help. She takes the entirety of her Academy with her too in hopes they could maybe get stronger or maybe just believe her. The issue is that The Commision is hunting down 5 and now is also issued to protect Homura because her time thing keeps powering up Madoka.
There is eventually a split in teams when Homura reveals that Madoka does defeat Walpurgisnacht but she wants to change that so Madoka doesn’t die. Since 5 has a “If they have to die they have to die” mentality he gets kinda pissed at this since if Homura didn’t interfere and let fate happen this wouldn’t be an issue. Eventually their argument is resolved and 2nd apocalypse is no more.
This is probably incoherent but it’s an idea?

Hey, not dropping the ball actually worked!
We’re just a hair’s length away from summer vacation, but unlike last year when Tomoko approached summer with not much consideration, she’s now taking a proactive role in deciding how to spend her last summer in high school. At first glance, Tomoko appears to have become a responsible, young lady. But as we soon will see, that can-do attitude may not be as refined as it looks on the surface.
Chapter 164: Because I’m Not Popular, I’ll Do My Best Starting From Summer Break
There’s that time period during the day when most students have already left but school hasn't quite closed up. It’s pretty creepy, even more so before summer break when you’re expected not to stick around.
Have I mentioned Itou is a cute? ‘Cause she is.
It’s usually her looking after Komiyama, so it’s really sweet to see the dynamic flipped around like this. Despite, well, everything, Komiyama is a good friend.
Assuming that cheering for the baseball teams is optional, it’s endearing to see Itou go through with it. Even though baseball isn’t her thing, she’s likely doing it to support her bestie, which I can 110% get behind.
Ah, right. Dude’s in the manga club. That said, I wonder if their plans are for just being attendees, or if they’ll actually be manning a booth and selling their work. With his skills and, er, preferences, I think Hatsushiba could do the latter.
Don’t be so modest, Tomoko. There’s no slouching either when you’re a three-year veteran of the Going-Home Club.
Studying during summer break? Outrageous!!
It’s intriguing to see just how Tomoko’s study habits have evolved throughout the series. The early days would see her spend summer goofing off on her hobbies, with bare minimum concern for academics. But now, Tomoko is actually considering studying on her own accord. Sure, it’s more-or-less a fallback when she has nothing else planned, but the thought itself is still worth mentioning.
Is that one of those mini-fans that you can carry around in your bag? I love those things.
Study camp, huh? Any other day, Tomoko would be apathetic to the idea, leaning more on the side of brushing it off. But having Katou bring it up makes all the difference, ‘cause let’s be real. Katou could ask her to sign up for a hostess bar at the Red Light District and Tomoko would still seriously consider it.
Miss you, Yuu-chan.
I second that, Komi. Fourteen hours of studying a day is brutal, even if that’s to be expected in what is essentially a boot camp. I’ve always questioned the efficiency of cram schools and the like, mostly because they seem to prepare more for short-term memorization than long-term understanding. But even it actually works in principle...
...I’m not sure Tomoko will be able to handle it.
Perhaps it’s just me, but it feels like Tomoko is overestimating her discipline for studying. She already struggled with Katou’s flashcards and study sessions that a whole training camp feels like it would have a more detrimental effect on Tomoko than a positive one. “Work hard, play hard” was never meant to be that extreme, Tomoko.
That’s...genuinely uplighting. Tomoko has missed out on several of the key “memorable” high school moments, and she usually lets it go with only mild regrets. But here, Tomoko’s actively trying to gain what she once lost. Sure, she’s trying to “game the social system” a little, but what did you expect? She’s a person, not a saint.
This was Yuu’s only line in this entire chapter. My girl deserves more than this.
Will the 2% of Tomoko’s personality that is tsundere ever realize that if you really “didn’t care either way”, then you wouldn’t have asked the question to begin with? Doubt it.
That romaji tho.
It comes to the surprise of absolutely no one that Komiyama has some pretty...vivid fantasies about Tomoki. But what stands out to me is how deep into the relationship her thoughts go. Most people fantasize about their crush first in their sexual attractiveness, but only a few ever dream beyond that. Ironically, you know your crushing has gone off the deep end if you start thinking about them in domestic, SFW ways. Least Komi’s committed, yeah?

If what Yuri says is true, then that would mean that she and Ucchi have probably walked to school together several times before–more than the couple of times we’ve seen, at least. And even so, it doesn’t look like they haven’t gotten much closer as friends, if at all. Some people just don’t click, I suppose.
Not sure how blind Ucchi is because anybody with a pair of eyes (beady or not) would see that Yuri has friends, even if you only count Mako. Poor girl just can’t accept the truth even when it's right in front of her face.
Ah, Yuri. Why can’t you just drop the “savior” act and just admit you want to spend time with her?
I’m inclined to agree about Yoshida, but who knows? She’s surprised us before. Mako's a safe bet, though. Especially if the former’s going. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Boy, does that take me back. It still blows my mind that all of Ucchi’s problems originated from one night of misunderstandings. The art nerd in me really appreciates the subtle improvement in Niko’s art style. The character models feel “weightier” and more consistent without compromising the stylization.
You don’t see it in the previous panel, but Ucchi was totally blushing at the prospect of reliving her trauma/dream. Perhaps she was also looking to live out that ping pong match she never got.
I’m not sure if there was some kind of wordplay in the original text. Either way, it kind of sucks for Yuu-chan that she got such a “flattering” nickname when she wasn’t involved in that scenario whatsoever. Though it sure is a tad classier than Miss Akari “Dick Sister Jr.’ Iguchi.
It’s kind of (read: absolutely) frightening how Katou’s envy towards Yuu feels a lot more intense than Yuri’s. Perhaps it’s because Yuri’s so transparent that you know how to deal with her. But with Katou, that air of secrecy feels like a nuclear bomb about to go off.
I always wondered where girls picked up that thing where they intertwine their fingers as a sign of affection. It’s precious.
Praise modern technology for convenient storytelling.
Wow, Fuuka’s already made her mark on Tomoko’s “bitch” list. Though exactly why she’s on that list now is kind of odd. I mean, yeah, she asked Tomoko about the whole fondling thing, and she unintentionally presented herself as a pervert for the whole “hair” thing, but Fuuka hasn’t really done anything all that terrible. If anything, Tomoko is probably expressing a rare bit of jealousy towards someone else supposedly perving on Katou besides her.
The most striking part about Fuuka’s inevitably failed plan is that she describes Tomoko’s appearance as “sudden”. It was touched on before, but it further emphasizes that Tomoko’s friendship with Katou was just as unexpectedly quick in-universe as it was for the readers. And in doing so, it brings us one step closer to the real mystery over why Katou is so enamored with Tomoko in the first place.

I don’t know whether I’d say Nico Tanigawa has been playing the long game, or if they just found a convenient throwaway to capitalize on. But the acknowledgment itself is very much appreciated. Tomoko may have forgotten, naturally, but us overzealous fans certainly never did!
The chills, man. Chill’s right up the spine.
It’s certainly true that Tomoko’s words can be interpreted in a good or bad way, so it’s pretty telling that Katou’s gut reaction went for the latter. It suggests that Katou may actually have some insecurities that can easily set her off. Then again, a defining part of Katou’s personality is that she takes everything Tomoko says at completely face value, so maybe she’s starting to see Tomoko’s negativity even if it’s not there. Just more of the enigma that is Asuka Katou.
Not a bad save, Tomoko. Countless battles with shame have made her quick on the fly. Unfortunately, while she’s improved at starting a save...
...she still doesn’t know how to end it.
It would’ve been a clean getaway if Tomoko had just ended about half-way in the above panel. But because Tomoko’s anxiety causes her to try and cover all the bases, she ends up rambling suspiciously. The part about Nemo isn’t even that relevant, but in her burst of defensiveness, Tomoko ends up saying things that could just exacerbate the problem even further.
Fucking shit, Katou is damn scary.
The one fortunate thing about Tomoko’s defensive rambles is that once she starts to cool down, her honesty starts coming out more organically. Self-deprecation becomes self-reflection, and brings to the forefront Tomoko’s endearing side.
Only Tomoko could spout such a cliché moe line and sound so pure of heart. Must be the irony.

But on that note, it does affirm that while Tomoko is honest with Katou about certain things (perversion, laziness), she isn’t quite ready to be honest on anything that would paint Katou in a bad light. I’d say tha’st about 85% due to fear.

I had a feeling that Nemo would take the plunge this time and invite Tomoko out somewhere during the summer. It seems like such an insignificant gesture, but considering that this is the very first time a classmate has asked to hang out with her during the summer, it warms my heart.
Hey now, Tomoko. Don’t get cocky when you’re maximizing your own goof-off time by taking a study camp.
The easy guess is that Nemo wants to go to Comiket. But really, it could be anything that Tomoko would have an interest in. And because it’s implied that Nemo is going for research purposes, it could be anything from a seiyuu panel (the last one went so well) to a hot spring to a hentai game company. Hope they bring Okada along...

Even though Anna doesn’t appear to be the studious type, it’s pretty cool to see that she can respect people who are. Also, I dig the way she wears her tie (or is that a ribbon?).
Emoji II really has become an honorary delinquent and it fits her perfectly.
I guess no matter how much more grounded Tomoko becomes, she still thinks reading manga is legitimate practice for playing in real-life (though tabletop games may actually allow for some truth).

What a way to end a chapter. For the longest, Katou had always viewed Tomoko through a pair of rose-tinted glasses, always seeing the girl’s faults as endearing “quirks”. But as her soul-piercing gaze seems to indicate, Katou has reached a revelation about Tomoko that she can actually disapprove of. Whether or not it’ll shatter her illusion of Tomoko is still unclear, but how she treats Tomoko from here on out may finally give us a deeper look into Katou’s psyche.
160+ chapters we’ve followed Tomoko, and we’re still learning new things about her. The very extent of Tomoko’s agency has always been a tad murky. She’s good at (poorly) executing short-term ideas, but hardly does she plan out and follow up on her long-term goals. Even her greatest milestone of making friends involved a lot of pushing from outsiders (Ogino, the most obvious case). That said, having to take charge of herself for once is inescapable with college on the horizon. How she goes about it amongst her various mom-friends may end up being Tomoko’s biggest personal challenge yet.

Nobody asked for this but I'm still on my gambling girlz bullshit and I wanted my headcanons typed out for future writing purposes so get ready (Warning: This post contains omorashi and dirtier watersport kinks, back out now if you don't like that bc I'm not putting slashes in all the names) :
LA Midari: She gets her own section bc (somehow) she seemed even less composed than the animated one so they're almost different characters: She's prone to holding to ridiculous extremes when she's very invested in a task/having fun, and would rather cling on until she wets herself than actually take a quick break bc she's sure she can hold it. When she's like this (even tho she doesn't realize it) she's super obvious about it, constantly doing a little dance and grabbing herself or squirming in her seat, whining under her breath, but even when ppl fuss at her to go she'll swear she's fine until she's finished whatever she's doing or the less-fortunate scenario occurs. Genuinely surprised when she pisses herself, embarrassed for like a minute, but then probably laughs it off. ((I could also see this hc sort of working for animated Midari, but only if Yumeko was involved somehow (ex. They're in the middle of a gambling match or just hanging out) bc that's the only reason she wouldn't dare leave. Anyone or anything else (bar The President) and animated Midari would just say 'fuck it' and go tbh.)) Also she has definitely walked to the edge of her cell and pissed at least once just to drive Manyuda up a wall when she's mad at him/feels like the rest of the council was ignoring her. Not bladdershy in the slightest since she seems to spend most of her time locked up in her own area in full view of the council (Like she can clearly get out for breaks and stuff but there had to have been times they refused to release her bc she was extra unstable and they just gave her a pot or smth).
Midari (animated aka my fav) : I have a lot of varying ideas I like with her. On one hand, she could easily be the type to go in front of anyone in any situation and gripe the whole time and not give a fuck, considering her attitude towards everything else. On the other hand, she could be severely bladdershy just to conflict with the rest of her wild personality. Either way, she (generally) doesn't like the idea of piss getting on her/her clothes, outfits/accessories are important to her. That said, if in a sexual setting, she's willing to make the sacrifice if it gets her partner riled up, especially if it leads to her being humiliated and degraded. Still gets fidgety when desperate, but for the most part she tends to be subtler about it unless she wants someone to know (ex. Already said she had to and was denied so she might as well squirm and growl about it to annoy them, or in a sexual setting to tease her partner). If she gets past a certain point of desperation though, she will abandon all subtlety and bounce around holding herself like her life depends on it. Would piss on someone without a second thought if asked tbh. She's a freak so like, she might drink it, but probs only if it was Yumeko's and she asked her to.
Mary: The absolute definition of being too proud to say she has to go. Capable of avoiding outward signs of desperation for the most part, although her temper will usually flare up over nothing which lets the more observant know something's up. Completely loses concentration when desperate. She can hold for long amounts of time, but once the urge catches up with her, it catches up fast. She rubs her thighs together a lot and taps her feet, refuses to grab her crotch ever. If pushed to the point where it's unavoidable, she'll bite the bullet and bring up her need, but she'll still deny any extra coddling or sympathy by saying she can handle it until they get somewhere. Will only use odd receptacles/places as a last resort. Wetting would be beyond mortifying for her, but she would refuse any comfort at all and storm off. If you breathe a word, you're dead. No piss kinks, might be willing to try it for a partner, but prefers domming them to holding herself.
Yumeko: Like many things, it doesn't concern her one way or the other. Equally likely to ask the second she feels the urge (even if the timing is inconvenient to everyone else) as she is to keep quiet and hold it until she can't anymore (and either bring up how desperate she is completely calmly, or accidentally wetting herself), it just depends on her daily whim. She doesn't get rattled when desperate, only excited, and enjoys the slight urgency it brings to games. Technically has a bladder of steel, but she drinks a lot for the sake of enjoying tea and such so it evens out tbh. Doesn't like interrupting what she's doing to get up and go. Not shy at all, would probably hike her skirt out of the way and pop a squat in the middle of the school yard if someone didn't stop her. Probably That Girl (tm) who tries to hold a full conversation in the stall next to you while she's going lmao. Absolutely has a piss kink, ranging from cutesie omo/desperation (either herself or her partner) to the filthiest watersports you can think of, often combined with petplay or bdsm.
Itsuki: Tiny bladder, literally always has to pee even if she barely drank. Tends to bounce in place and pace a lot, especially since she's already naturally energetic. Tries to grin and bear it/make jokes about it until she can take care of it, but if it takes too long she just gets upset and panicky. Very vocal and whiny to friends, but around strangers/important ppl she struggles to stay quiet and professional. Wetting would definitely upset her since she has her company's image to keep up, but Yumeko could probably ease the sting. No piss kink and would be sceptical at first, but still open to it once her partner explains it (I mean this bitch collects nails, she can't exactly judge). Only the desperation/wetting though and kinda cutesie, she would draw the line at the harder stuff.
Kirari: So calm and collected, she could be wetting herself right in front of you and you wouldn't know it. She wouldn't though. All about control of herself and her environment, The President has both a bladder and will of steel, and could outlast even Yumeko without any competition. If by some miracle her need did get to a tipping point, she would stay composed outwardly, but wouldn't last long with actually holding it, since she isn't used to being pushed so far. The only person she would confide her needs in is her secretary, Sayaka, and perhaps the VP. Definitely embarrassed by wetting, but would also be intrigued, feeling a hint of awe that her control was broken. As for kinks, she definitely has it, but she's much more into seeing others desperate than going through it herself. She prefers to dom her lovers and victims, watching them squirm for the sheer sake of coming unraveled. Bdsm, petplay, and pure humiliation are her specialties, and she does not play lightly. Would be willing to pee on somebody, even in their mouth, but only to chuckle at how pathetic they are to allow such treatment. For the few she is actually attached to, she is capable of showing a gentler side, putting more of her focus into making them feel good and possibly learn to enjoy the sensations that that kind of desperation can offer. She greatly dislikes the mess that comes with it, and insists someone comes to clean the room and anything that got wet the minute after the fun is over.
Ryota (because I guess I should throw him in) : Average bladder, shy about asking if smth important is happening, casually leaves if not. Lots of stealthy-not-stealthy crotch grabs or leg crosses if forced to hold, his expression is a dead giveaway bc he doesn't have a poker face to save his life. Tries not to whine too much unless there's a way someone could help. Definitely embarrassed by wetting, but tbh he's been through so much worse at this point that he'll get over it by the next day. Doesn't have any kink, but isn't disgusted by it and is down for it to make Yumeko happy as long as it stays to desperation/wetting (he draws the line at being peed on, but will mark her if she begs for it).

books i read in december + top10 books of 2018
i’m trying to keep this short so i have space for the top10 but.....i’m bad at that
severance, ling ma
interesting blend of millenial corporate satire and apocalypse (the epidemic kind, shen fever). the protag’s time working as her firm’s skeleton staff in an almost deserted new york, blogging as NY Ghost and encountering only a few other people (and the fevered, who mindlessly repeat the routines of their former life until their bodies fall apart), were pretty great, but the postapocalyptic cultish road trip that she joins after leaving new york felt a bit stale. 3/5
ship of destiny (liveship traders #3), robin hobb
this is a 900-page book that i read in four days, which already says something, but honestly i loved this with all my heart, everything came together beautifully, the character development in this is honestly unmatched, the two central romances are Good (i.e. i shouted ‘you beautiful idiot babies’ several times). anyway, liveship traders is one of the BEST fantasy series i’ve ever read and i can’t wait to a) continue with the larger realm of the elderlings series but also b) to reread them again!!! 4.5/5, series rating 5/5 YAAAS BITCH
i, claudius, robert graves
a fun ride through early imperial rome, covering the reigns of augustus, tiberius and caligula (and... spoiler warning... claudius becomes emperor at the end!). it’s a bit too long and occasionally gets bogged down in military campaigns and stuff, but roman politicking, caligula being caligula and livia’s various wonderfully evil intrigues are fun fun fun. 3/5
a skinful of shadows, frances hardinge
a great spooky & atmospheric childrens/YA story set in 1600s england about a young girl called makepeace (gotta love them puritan names), who seems to have a gift for seeing and attracting ghosts, including the ghost of a BEAR which lives in her SOUL. the story involves evil aristocrats, the english civil war, lots of ghists and a stubborn, distrustful, resourceful protag who does not suffer fools gladly and also, like, she has a GHOST BEAR IN HER SOUL. i really enjoyed this, plus the hardcover is just gorgeous. 4/5
europe in autumn (fractured europe #1), dave hutchinson
man i love this concept (alternative timeline europe that has splintered into a bunch of micronations and is still splintering further, spy/smuggling shenanigans) and enjoyed the world-building, the wry humour and rudi, cook-turned-spy, BUT i do not entirely understand what happened in the last 25% of this book. i still enjoyed it but???? what is happening. 3/5
the history of history, ida hattemer-higgins
i’m not entirely sure how i feel about this one. it falls squarely into one of my fav micro-genres (which i might still end up writing my masters thesis about): people having mental breakdowns in (and inevitably somehow because of) berlin. this one involves an american history student in berlin, amnesia, magda goebbels as a monstrous bird women, the city becoming flesh and it’s all interesting, although overall i think the book tries much too hard to hammer all those Symbolics in,, plus i don’t mind unlikeable characters necessarily but the protag here is A LOT. anyway, an interesting book that i feel conflicted about. if i do end up going with this thesis i’ll have time & space to figure it out. 3/5???? i guess??? i have a lot more to say but shrug emoji

cool & interesting dystopia based on the arab spring; roughly reminiscent of kafka’s ‘vor dem gesetz’, but if it was not a parable. in an unnamed country (it’s egypt) where a queue in front of the central state building grows longer and longer until it forms a mini-society (just like waiting at the bürgeramt!)- there is an interesting tension here between the real(istic) and the surreal (self-updating files, a surveillance state that borders on ominiscient but i think the book is a bit too long to quite deliver that punch, but at the same time to short to fully realise the characters and the world - might have been better as short story or novella. but still, definitely worth a read. 3.5/5 @berlincorpography since you asked about it!
the silence of the girls, pat barker
retelling of the iliad through the eyes of briseis, who becomes a sex slave to achilles when her city is sacked (y’all know the story), living in the greek camps along with many other slave women. while these women’s stories are usually ignored, reducing them to objects for men to fight about (see also helena), or else romanticised, barker shows them as sex slaves, robbed of agency and autonomy, chafing under their loss of their home & family, denied personhood etc, all while the men talk a big game about honour and glory. still, briseis and the others manage to find their own agency and their own stories. i found this a very effective retelling, a great & very human book, and i loved briseis. i will say that i have some quibbles over the inclusion of achilles’ perspective - while i didn’t dislike those chapters per se, i think it could have been a stronger book if briseis had been the only pov, but it’s still great. 4/5

So who are your favorite Danganronpa characters so far?

For real though, I can answer this, but keep in mind I’ve only played the first game and up until the third case in DR2. Like, the third murder just happened, and then I stopped playing because life happened :’>
but literally like???? I love almost all the characters in the first game????? i want to protect Makoto forever. Mondo and Taka are PRECIOUS and didn’t deserve what happened to them. Byakuya is a piece of shit but goddamn i love him too, and Sakura is my GIRL
like p much the only characters i didn’t like in the first game were Sayaka because fuck that manipulative bitch, and Hifumi because he’s just gross and doesn’t have a lot of redeeming qualities tbh
i can’t really say the same for the second game tho? like its cast is certainly different from the first, besides Byakuya (whom I still love even if he totally let himself go), but like most of them aren’t nearly as charming as the first cast was. in fact most of them are pretty damn annoying, and Hajime isn’t nearly as interesting of a protagonist as Makoto was
Kazuichi was the one I was drawn to right away, mostly because i like his ultimate, so i like him quite a bit. Chiaki is BEST GIRL I LOVE HER SO MUCH
but man, Fuyuhiko just takes the damn cake. the cast of DR2 may be lacking quite a bit in quantity of good characters, but the quality really shines in the actual good ones, especially in Fuyu. he’s such a dick but he goes through my ultimate weakness when it comes to stories: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND HIS DEVELOPMENT IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!
but hey, like i said, i haven’t even finished DR2 yet. my opinions may change, especially since i don’t even know what Hajime’s ultimate talent is yet
