I actually had such a peaceful Tuesday off. Like, yes I didn’t get out of bed until like 2 & shower until 4 but I took it easy and didn’t put any pressure on myself and just like. Breathed and it was calm and I felt peaceful and just took time to be a quiet little slug.
#idk don’t we all need little slug time#I didn’t do full gross slug like I got out of bed showered put on outside clothes#WENT OUTSIDE#(I went to the local variety shop to pick up yarn and chat to old ladies)#knitted watched series remembered to eat#drank some tea and snuggled up it was just like#good honest quiet time#cub and con were out to see con’s family so I had the house to myself#then they came home they watched xfiles with me for a bit then we put on the glow up#it’s the current show bc ahs freak show isn’t as good as the other seasons so they’ve fallen off a bit#which I don’t mind bc the clown thing is gross sorry#anyway I’ve gone off on a tangent it’s 2am I’m sleepy cub is forcing us to get up early tomorrow to go into town#this village idiot needs her beauty rest thanks besties

Dude, the whole youtube adblock bullshit has broken normal functionality of the website. I finally turned off my adblockers. I can watch videos again, however, if I open a video in a new tab (how I've pretty much always used youtube), I'm completely blocked from it as if I were still using an adblocker. Maybe this wouldn't be a problem if I completely uninstalled ublock. but I'm not completely changing how I use the internet for one website.
I also want to say that there was a point where I actually didn't mind ads on youtube at all. I'd even let skippable ads run sometimes while I went to do other things, like a commercial break on television. I have more patience for ads than probably anyone I know. I didn't start using adblockers on youtube until they increased ads to what felt like a ridiculously excessive amount, and updated their policy to allow ads to be forced on videos where the uploader has turned them off.
Youtube is a business. Obviously their goal is to make money. But in trying to endlessly increase their revenue they've completely missed the fact that what makes their website profitable is. y'know. people wanting to actually use it.
I honest to god don't mind a few ads every now and then. I wouldn't mind paying to remove ads if I had a little more expendable income. But fucking forcing people to pay to make your service tolerable. I disagree with on principle. It's just fucking greedy and there's no excuse for it.
#I've abandoned streaming platforms for pulling shit like this before#I know there really isn't any alternative to youtube#especially since I watch youtube for specific creators whose videos obviously won't be anywhere else#but frankly. I could stop streaming videos altogether. Or at least stop watching youtube regularly for entertainment#I have hobbies. It would honestly probably improve my life to put more time into them than into streaming#not that it would make any difference but like. the reason they have the guts to do this is because they know they have more or less#a monopoly on video streaming#they feel secure in their shitty choices because they know people don't really have an alternative to them#but like#what if I just walked away.#went outside#touched grass#if shit sucks hit da bricks y'know.
