MDZS AU Fic Idea

I need an AU fic where Daddy Wei Ting is taking A-yuan to the supermarket.

Wei Ying is randomly going through the aisles trying to trying to get his shopping but his ADHD and the aisles being changed since his last visit are making it hard and he forgot to write a list.

A-Yuan goes missing and he doesn’t notice for a while.

He finds him in the produce aisle clinging to the legs, of a handsome, gorgeous, elegant man.

He’s also having a meltdown due to the changed layout and an unknown little boy clinging to his legs.

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying help each other with their shopping and exchange numbers.

i remember the first time you flashed me your smile—i'd never seen something so purely beautiful before.

you were always captivating, wei ying. always the brightest in the room, with your glowing eyes and charming lips that never seemed to close shut for very long.

there was a time i had been very confused—you were very confusing, and your entire character was nothing short of an enigma.

the way you presented yourself, the way you talked with no shame, the confidence that exuded you wholly and fully, engulfing you with beams of light—

i could not bear it.

you were the very bane of my existence—the personification of all the things i had been told not to be.

and i loved you all the same.

you, the whole of you, defy all 3000 principles dutifully scraped upon the very wall i've told to follow, and yet my heart yearns for you.

like nothing else mattered.

there's this—fuzzy-like feeling i get whenever your eyes laid themselves upon me, whenever they crinkled with laughter, or widened with utmost surprise. it's scarily nostalgic.

and nostalgically scary.

my mother used to make me feel that way, did you know? the way you would tease me reminded me terribly of her, and then i would lay awake, basking in the quiet, not knowing what to do with myself and the way my heart seemed to scream for you the way it screamed for her.

i so terribly wish that you could've met her. maybe you have, wherever you are. i sometimes dream you're somewhere warm, and my mother was always warm.

i wish i could've kept you warm for longer.

i remember, or not exactly, when she passed. to this day i can't exactly calculate it, and i feel as if the topic is too weighty to ask xiongzhang. so i think of it like any other season—the most memorable thing about it

snow, snow, snow.

i remember the cold, how it seemed to wrap itself around me, blow me kisses, and tell me that she would never come back. would never tease me, or fix the headband my fingers couldn't tie properly at the time.

i could never associate you with the cold, wei ying. even if you are.

to me, you are everything, everywhere, all around me. you are the autumn leaves, red and wild and beautiful.

you are the morning dew that rests peacefully upon the specs of grass, glistening with excitement of a new day.

you are every part of summer there is to be liked—although i admit it is my least favourite season, where the air seems humid, and insects seem to crawl into cloud recesses without abandon, beads of sweat resting more often upon my brow.

but there is something good about summer,

and i'd like to think it's you.

your ways of life were very eccentric from the get-go, really.

from the way you smiled at my uncle, mischief between your lips, how you would willingly help others cheat in an exam. how you would barely study yet pass with flying colours

it's very you, wei ying. i'd like to think you never changed. even if you did, and you have, because that is what war does—the terrible thing—i would still love you. i do.

i loved you every moment where you bugged me in the library about writing out my principles.

the drawings i received from you, did you know that i kept them? that i look at them each night, and wonder what went wrong?

you were always so creative. your mind was a neverending haven of ideas.

i wish to unscrew all the parts, and memorise and learn each thought, to help you make your dreams a reality. though, i supposed you never really needed my help in that.

you were a genius, wei ying. you were a genius in a world full of self absorbed people who despised you.
