guilt ridden man. so much guilt. also, very sad man. created a machine that can predict murders and save the future victims with his team. hacker extraordinaire. very secretive ("it's not paranoia if they're really out to get you"). slowly opens up and it's so heartwarming to watch. has a sweet heart (the scenes with his wife are the sweetest things 🥺 he's so love with her). suffer a lot from chronic pain.

i'm six foot seven and bright green. people are gonna stare no matter how i dress!
natasha had never expected her career as naval aviator to change her this much.
granted, she never expected her backseater to be half angry green rage monster either.
bob's not technically a superhero, given the fact that he's in the backseat of a jet. but he does have the 'green gene' as he referred to it.
and when he and nat had gotten into a crash, at some point his blood had gotten into one of her wounds and altered her dna. dealing with the aftermath of that was fun...
so, now, not only is she a successful woman in a male dominated field and has to deal with the negative side of that -- she is now superhuman and has to learn how to keep her rage in check.

Part One
Inuyasha refused to look at the email, the one with big, bold capital letters with the title of “Merry Christmas Friend!” from his pervy, lecherous and somehow married closest friend. Oh, hell no. It came through just this morning, before he even had time to finish his first cup of coffee and he promptly shut his browser, deciding he could go without checking his email all day. However, luck was not on his side and by lunch time, he was forced to look.

Paradigms
I read through the paradigm section on canvas to get a better understanding of the word. I hadn't properly heard of the word paradigm before starting my masters, so I'm still learning to understand it and what makes up a paradigm.
A paradigm is essentially your worldview and the frame that you approach the world. All your decisions are influenced by your paradigm, which is in turn influenced by your experiences. Following the paradigm triangle template, I explored the potential lens that my project is framed in according to my beliefs, my world view, and my practise (all things that make up my paradigm).
Some of these things feel subject to change, like the way I approach my practise for this project might change depending on what I want for my outcome (e.g collage could become illustrator instead). But a paradigm doesn't seem like something that is project dependent so I'm going to have to ask Andrew about this to get a better understanding.

Embroidery Collage
inspired by Petra Heidrich, I worked on exploring collage with elements of stitching.

I decided to create collages based on experiences of being disabled using magazines and embroidery thread. I like the simplicity of the collages, I feel like they say a lot without having to be super busy.
I had a lot of fun incorporating the different mediums. I used the thread to overlay and act like the thoughts and feelings of disabled women, things that might not be noticeable to able-bodied people but disabled people would understand. I used pink because I always want to portray disability with a lot of love and care, so using colours that represent these feelings helps display disability in a more positive way.
This collage depicts the feeling that people don't see you for a person when they see you are disabled, all they are noticing is the disability. You're dehumanised straight away (represented by the covering of the eyes) and people only take notice of disability.
This collage focuses on the way prosthetics and medical fixes can feel to people with disabilities. Prosthetics are often clunky and noticeable. You can't ignore them and they feel like they don't always fit on your body. This was my experience with my prosthetic. I found to made my disability more noticeable and harder to ignore or hide.
This collage is the feeling of wanting to cover up and hide your disability. The thread is strung across the messing arm in order to pretend it's still there, like there is nothing wrong of different.
This collage displays the heightened senses that someone who's blind might have. They're missing their eyes, but their other senses bring more value. I'm not super happy with how this one turned out and I feel it just looks sort of tacky.
This collage talks to phantom limbs. When people have amputations, it can sometimes feel like their missing limb is still there. When their eyes are closed, their limb is still there. They can feel it still attached to their body. It also speaks to the feeling of missing something that isn't there, the longing for a normal body.
