one of the reasons to become a treebark shipper is that absence does make the heart fonder. like we got so much gay shit from limited life. unguided hand. red winter scarf. cheek fragment. martyn became selfish after ren died. five million things. ren saying martyn can do whatever he wants from him. THE 50 WORD DRABBLE. martyn saying the infamous "why simp for the middle when you can simp for the top" in the break between third life and last life. treebark is a ship that is heavily fueled by word of god (although canon stuff can be interpreted in a homoerotic way) and we keep on getting more of that.

also treebark is a classic "we bet on losing dogs" ship in the sense we don't win things (except the first trafficship poll, we got it in the bag baby), but the fact that we lose is exactly why we win. because if they lose, their story is unfulfilled, and the yearning increases, and we get more crazy word of god stuff.

so even though we do not get ren and martyn in a stream, all the yearning we get from their twitch streams fuels treebark. you know that phenomenon when people stop shipping a ship as intensely once that ship becomes canon? yeah. the longer ren and martyn spend away from each other, the more insane the fans / shippers (and the ccs apparently) go, we get more word of god stuff, everyone loses it, yearning, rinse and repeat.

so yeah. treebark is currently a ship about filling in the gaps of the mutual pining. we bet on losing dogs but even if we lose we're winning <3

also it's just really fun because we almost inevitably get something that can be easily be interpreted in a homoromantic way like every month. putting unhinged treebark moment polls as the evidence. like not everything is shippy of course, it depends on personal interpretation, but if you're a person who wants to get into shipping treebark, it's really fun because it's kinda easy in an unhinged way 😭 so yeah. get treebark'd!

Paper and Paintbrush friend propaganda.

Paper is really insecure about his drawings. Hes older than pb but a much worse artist in comparison. PB started offering private drawing classes to help and of course Paper signed up. Paper snd PB already kinda knew each other through Marshmallow, so they already had a start in a good friendship. Already had something to bond over. PB is honestly STILL quite scared of Paper after season 1, but they wanted to give him a chance. Paper would bring PB’s favourite sweets to every class. PB was a wonderful teacher! weee woop -🦶

The thing about swan queen is, it's literally canon now (even more) since these new Aladdin/Jasmine episodes. The reiteration on the usage of 'friend', the almost kisses (the main sq one being right before Emma saves Henry from the mines in that still small voice, pretty sure thats the episode title), the belief, the apples and more all actually confirm that swan queen is gay af. I understand queer bait, I get that but... swan queen just isn't that anymore and I don't mean this in a fantastical way either. I actually mean it in a victorious sense where if the show truly meant, this entire time, for swan queen to be platonic, they failed. Queer bait is just that, bait. Swan queen actually exists and is real. We've all seen countless examples of jealousy from both Emma and Regina now, we've seen them paralleled with a canon gay couple on the same show, we've seen a parallel between Emma jumpstarting Regina's magic by touching her shoulder in Henry doing the same for Emma recently (knowing these two share true love). Regardless of what we're told, regardless of what homophobic propaganda exists, according to Once Upon a Time, Emma and Regina are in love and have been since they laid eyes on one another. Of course, when is up for debate but I'm pretty sure it was at least instantaneous attraction that lead to love by wraith times. Especially with Regina wearing that silk pajama shirt Henry leant to Emma (once) so constantly.

10/17/20 note - I've also seen a post going around where Regina first hears Emma can do magic and she has a realization "of course, you're the savior" but it's moot bc of what I said about Henry helping Emma!! Weee lmao, also Regina's reaction/thoughts aren't nullified, they just might not be true. Swan Queen is very much true love <3
