It’s been almost a week and I still struggle to put into words how magical and beyond expectations GIFT was for me, but today I will try. 

I don’t know what I expected from the words “ice story” but I really didn’t think we were going to travel into his mind in such an intimate way. Of course, he only shows us what he wants to show and he’s always been very good at communicating with us while maintaining his privacy and mystery, but last week’s show demonstrated such courage in showing his vulnerabilities with no hesitations and no softening of the most painful parts, it left me speechless.

So let’s start from the obvious: the absolute magic of the scenography, the lights, the choreography, just the wonder of it all made it a really once in a life type of show (although I’m sure at some point he will be able to top this, too). I’m glad they released the picture above because it’s an effect they used during notte stellata, people said it looked magical and they were right! 

I expected to see many programs, but honestly not this many! He was so generous especially towards the end, every time I thought “ok this is the end” he would come out to skate again and it doesn’t surprise me he was utterly spent after all of that. He gave everything, like he always does, and more. 

I was already overwhelmed with feeling when he skated to haru yo koi and then seimei, and he did with such joy I was moved to tears. I think he had a new lightness to him and it warmed my heart to see him like that. And as if that wasn’t enough, that last speech when he started skating freely completely destroyed me. Too many emotions at once 🥲

As for the monologues, probably the part that made this show so special to me the most, I think I will have to do another post only to talk about that! The different mediums and types of art, the profound and resonating meaning, all the different layers of interpretation…I was blown away. 

It was amazing seeing so many people cheering loudly for him and react to the show, it made everything more exciting and he really deserved to receive all that love and support once again. 

I don’t have the words to express how grateful I am to have been able to experience this, it truly felt like Yuzuru was gifting us something invaluable, I will never forget it 💙

feeling inordinately soft at the realisation that at the end of the Father Brown cult ep (really not my favourite), when sid and susie say they've heard that mrs mccarthy stole her strawberry scone recipe and mrs m (quite fairly) takes their scones back and has to chase sid off-screen for his, father brown quietly offers his one to susie.

context is that susie is officially hired by them to clean the presbytery and she has a rough time in this ep, and father brown generally takes any and every opportunity to have sweet things (good for him dot png.)

inordinately soft about it

Thinking about the parade episode and Eddie and Hen being a paramedic Team and how at the hospital she says "you did good out there" and he says "well war zones are kind of my thing" and how war and conflic have defined his life and how during conflict is the only time he's ever felt secure in himself and because of that he had embroiled himself in Conflict his whole life, internally or externally and how the reason he doesn't "panic" is because he's taught his body to be so used to such high levels of internal conflict through his repression that it's normal for him to run on high stress every moment of the day. And as soon as he starts to let himself examine that conflict and anger and internal war zone in season 3 it CRUMBLES. His body can't take it anymore, and it takes him years to figure out how to reregulate himself. And now we're getting to see him HAPPY and GOOFY and not just admitting that he has/had panic attacks but helping to guide someone else through one. He's come so far. SO FAR.

hiii that's such a beautiful question 🥺 i think i've emphasised his dark clothing, heavy eye makeup, his wolf cut, tattoos and piercings a lot throughout the story, so that part's probably obvious dhsjfh

but really, i didn't even have to go very far to find inspiration for how i'd imagine he looked if he was in a rock band, because i think he naturally embodies a rockstar aura with some of his looks, and his overall energy? he's a cute dork with a killer stage presence in general, so that helps

but since you asked, i do have a folder of sleepwalking-coded jungkook pictures.......
