#hello to anyone who happens to b interested in the saga of my life... also maybe the irl person i gave my url to... hopefully my blog #didnt freak her out too much lol. anyway so its been a busy week? 2 weeks? month? year? life? its been a lot. my parents helped me move #across the country from the desert to somewhere that's beautiful and green. my dad is so jealous of me lol its so so so pretty and theres s #so much to do. will i do any of it? that remains to be seen but im gonna try to be better about that sort of thing. try to get some help #with the thoughts in my head that keep me from doing and enjoying most things. its weird like im decorating my new room which i love. the #location and living situation seem ideal and i really hope i can stay here all 5 years of my program but i was picking a lot of bright #colors and now it feel uncomfortable. like if i wear things that r too bright or my room is too bright without dark contrast it feel weird #like if im wearing it it kinda makes me feel sick. idk what thats abt. anyway. ill try to heal my brain and im just so happy to b out of the #southwest. i was so so so excited when we were leaving thr city and even more so when we left the state. i cant believe im here. in December #it felt like a million years away and i really truely could not fathom how i was gonna survive that long. my thoughts were so distorted. but #i did and here i am. and in like a month i should b starting my phd program and my parents were telling me how excited ppl r for me and #jealous of where im living and im glad. im glad they're excited. i think i am too but its under a layer of: if i get excited it wont happen #im not allowed to b excited or it wont happen. which is irrational but ya kno. anyway so that's yeah. im so happy to have a fresh start and #the town seems super cool. a liberal blip in a sea of... not that so theyre very visibly pride forward haha and i think itll b way easier #for me to get around without driving. and im gonna try to make friends. i need someone to tell me where to get tattoos haha. so yea im happy #but exhausted and i dont wanna go back to work and so so greatful to my parents for being wonderful ppl idk how bc both of them had fucked #up childhoods. like my mum will say the saddest shit and im like bro this is y i don't wanna talk to my grandma fuck her and my dads parents #r so fucked. like my nana is the reason im so fucking control freaked out but i kno i have issues and she has no insight and thinks shes #better than everyone. anyway hopefully i can get back to drawing a posting more now. ive been drawing it its been in a sketch book #like an actual sketch book for sketching big ideas thst r gonna take fucking forever to draw 😭#so that's all. just uprooted my whole life. thats all. but in a good way :-]#unrelated

I feel like in a typical "stopping the bad guys from collecting all magical the mcguffins and concurring the universe" plot, in the end the Council will manage to get all the shards no mater the efforts of our heroes and someone will have to sacrifice themselves in whatever action nescesary to give the rest one last chance to fix everything (I watched too much ninjago as a kid can you tell)

my biggest bets are Nine, Rusty or Dread since if you're gonna kill, you gotta kill the one with the most character development, and those three have the room for it, so-

#to explain the survival mode #when meeting with my contact person at this occupational program I am in we visited a voluntary meet up house #and being there was too much for me #my system went into flight fight freeze faun #where I ended up being mentally stuck and crying #and that took so much energy out of me that I didn't want to be perceived #I just wanted to go home and not do anything #so doing that I found a blanket and some disney plus and watched some pjo behind the scenes and pixar shorts #then youtube videos #before cooking dinner and going on my merry way to celebrate 3 months at karaoke event #I was also very close to went on social media yesterday #I didn't and I feel almost proud about it #so yeah here's the summary #daily life #tidt #things i did today #findingmicah

I’m gonna rant in the tags and then delete this but People on this site are starting once again to put WAY too much faith in the electoral college system

#if you’ve seen that one vote blue no matter who post going around you know #I’m sorry but voting is not going to save or even help us #there is no harm reduction at this point I’d argue even for the most privileged ppl who make these points #the republican and democratic parties are the same just with different colors #I’d argue voting at this point is just security theater #if you wanna vote fine whatever but if I see people repeat the reaction to the 2016 election again #I swear #if you get upset other people didn’t vote without realizing voting rights are being rapidly worn away #we have no national holiday for voting #and plenty people of color/Black people have said basically nothing has changed so why should they bother #if you’re still in the mindset that voting is our best option bc a violent revolution is unrealistic #please pull your head out of it #also no a third party candidate will not save you either they still operate under the same system #find local mutual aid programs #build community with the people around you so you have a higher chance at survival #care for the most vulnerable around you bc they’ll be the first axed no matter who becomes president #it’s already been happening #and for the love of god mask up #tbd

i think next semester is finally going to be the one that gives me a heart attack and kills me 💞

#vent #let's see #i am:#-doing my normal job stuff at the theater plus some additional grant work #-helping with a children's book that the theater is making which includes not only writing some of it but marketing it #-doing my first big boy serious puppet show that we might submit to the national slam if it's actually good #-writing and acting for a live sci-fi audio drama that has shows every month #-taking on a second job as a part time grader for fms 100 which includes attending one class per week and grading assignments for 100+ ppl #-taking 15 credit hours that are all upper division semester long classes and have me on campus from 9am-4:15pm tues and thurs #-finishing two (2) portfolios to apply for both concentrations in my major program (because i'm insane. i guess)#-probably should start worrying about my lgbtq certificate capstone oh yeah btw i think i have to do two capstones my senior year isnt that #something #-also im moving out of my parents' house next month so it'll be my first time living on my own #(so my winter break isn't even a break really bc i have to pack everything and move)#can someone just like. idk #give me a really long hug or something #i don't know what to do like. genuinely #barely even surviving school right now bc it's finals

no fr i worry abt globalization too. like i 100% actually admire and respect the cultures who value taking it easy and relaxing a little more. the US is basically my own personal hell ^^; i have a very low desire to work and just enjoy doing what i love and spending time with people i love, not slaving away to some corporate overlord that doesn't care about my life. i'd love to skip and get coffee with friends, or relax a little more rather than worrying about grades and constantly go-go-going all the time. but alas.

that's just my take, though ^^; (plus i just hate how everything gets made for americans... even being one i always feel kinda sad when cultures adapt to the us, rather than the us adapting to others... there's so much to be learned from other cultures! but you lose so much when everyone starts catering to the americans...)

Yeah, there's good things to take from America (like, okay okay, i shit on the US a lot, but like looking at the past and how it really was seen as a place of opportunity because you could start from zero and still make it - it's no longer a thing, but when it was it was inspiring, or i think we specifically mentioned "fighting for your rights" and "activism" as "good sides of westernisation" while studying it in high school), but the protestant work ethic.... is not it.

And maybe my own people take it too far in the other direction, i know we're stereotyped as excruciatingly lazy even in the north of the same country, but i just believe there's no reason to... put your entire soul into your career. Sure, if your work brings you joy you can allocate your hobby-time to your job-time, but... friends, family, entertainment, art are all things that need their own time. Imo "job" should be pretty low on your priorities (again, unless it brings you joy on par with a hobby. Like, if i manage to find work as a translator, i'll treat that job like my world, but that's bc it'd be on par with a hobby). I think we also use "work to live, don't live to work" to explain it. But we live in such a world :( it's hard, you need money to live, but you have to work so much now that you don't have the time to live anymore.

#i love that we're always waxing poetic about random subjects and philosophising lmao #but right stereotypes. northern europeans and western europeans see southern europeans as lazy #like really lazy. it's a Thing. spend 10min in the /europe sub and you'll see it #spend 10 minutes in the /croatia sub and you'll see two threads talking about how lazy dalmatians are #''the souther you go the lazier the people''#i'm pretty sure even northern italians will say southern italians are lazy and useless #but the thing is that the souther you go the hotter it gets #and the hotter it gets... the less sense it makes to work all day #in the north you work in the day and sleep in the night #in the south you can't do that without getting heatstroke. you work before and after sunrise and you sleep at night but also during the day #hence the birth of the siesta (or fjaka as we call it in my dialect)#it started as just our programming but. it bled into our culture #we can survive without having to work 24/7 #look at how hot it is - you can't do anything even if you wanted to #so why not take a break? why not sit down and just talk with your friends? why not just enjoy life for a minute?#and i like that and i don't wanna see that part of our culture destroyed #sure i don't help the stereotypes - i got the weirdest looks when i said i treat my absences like vacation time #(bc it's not like if i'm not absent i get 6 allowed absences next term - it's always 3 so i might as well use them)#but like. it's important!!!!! if i do nothing but work i'll go insane!!!!!!!!#and frankly i think we need to start pulling ''it's actually xenophobic to make me work all day'' at this point #you need to do it to. say your Dalmatian friend adopted you into the culture. it is now your Korka-given right to take a break from 3-5pm #preferably used to nap but you can also just hang out #all this to say there was a graffiti here that said ''THIS IS NOT AMERICA'' and i think of it everytime people try to adopt the US work #ethics like. we don't need that!!! this is not america!!!!!!! don't do that!!!!!!!!!!

the discord server i made for my masters program has just under half the cohort now which i'm pretty happy with. it is also now a place where people are fomenting revolt against a prof who gives very vague instructions and then grades harshly djdhskf

guys help i made an au on tuesday and i’ve written over 4k in terms of character info/lore + actual story. i haven’t plotted out the whole thing yet but i have enough info for a first chapter and then some so when (if) i finish it i will post it with the disclaimer that it might not get written for a while </3 but i do think you all might like it

#its a scifi sorta-apoc thing where society has been in a slow decline for the last 40 or so years #environment stuff is also out of wack #so governments and shit have sorta stopped being fully functional (imagine that!)#i have yet to come up with a concrete reason why but #the remaining powerful entities in the world have tried to make humans that can survive in this harsher world by giving them superpowers #basically.#so now we have these government-funded programs that are for the most part abducting people off the street to give them powers #lots of people dont survive because the process is really taxing #and those who do are kinda fucked up because of it #THATS THE SETTING and the story is church/alpha & co are one (a group?) of those people who have survived the process #and he has been kept in a facility his entire life #he gets broken out of the facility (run by freelancer/the director. wonderful) but they want him back because Powers #and also 30 years of tests and information would be going down the drain if they lost him #this is probably the clunkiest way i could have explained this but w/e #red vs blue #rvb #rvb au #i dont even know what to call it yet but the people with powers are called abnormal so maybe #rvb abnormal au #writing #my shit
