*MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ALL OF HIGURASHI* (seriously)

I wrote a little fic based on how I think Takano might have been feeling while preparing for the night of Watanagashi (in all the arcs). It's a bit of a mess cause it is nearly one o'clock but OH WELL. enjoy lol

TW: needles, mentioned plans of murder, mental illness

Takano Miyo was unstoppable. She was a master orchestrator, a genius, Oyashiro-sama's curse personified.

So why were tears of salt rushing down her cheeks as she stood before the cabinet that contained the key to her master plan?

Miyo, you feel nothing. You are cold as the gods who orchestrated your life; this symphony of doom. Takano lifted her head and focused on the vial she needed through the film of water over her eyes. Nothing more or less than a botherance to her.

Soon those so-called 'gods' will see. Takano unlocked the cabinet decisively, withdrawing the deadly vial of H173. We'll see who the true conductor is.

With the steady hands of a nurse, she unscrewed the lid, placing a needle into the resultant entry. She couldn't help but imagine that piercing as one into human flesh. She drew the needle back, not bothering to measure how much of the fatal liquid she was drawing.

It was meant to kill him, after all.

Takano saw a flash of his face when she blinked, his easy-going smile as his finger clicked the shutter of his treasured camera. Her hands, normally oh-so-steady, flinched, the vial falling onto the floor with a smash.

Takano swore, hoping that Irie-san hadn't heard. She would pray, but what gods would listen? Soon, she would grant her own prayers.

When no one entered the storage room, Takano bent down and retrieved the dropped needle, capping it with a twinge of relief as none of the precious liquid had been lost.

She wouldn't clean up the glass. When - if - anyone saw it, it would be too late.

It was time.

She pushed down all thoughts of Tomitake-san. Opened her iron gates and thrust him outside of them, locking her doors once more. Reinforcing the iron, taking the feelings and reducing them to fury.

It was time. It was time to at last perform her grand symphony. And who was her symphony dedicated to? Takano Hifumi. The only one who had ever believed.

Soon they would all believe. In a matter of a night, Takano would become a god.

Takano Miyo would become Oyashiro-sama herself.

Just gonna put some of my thoughts on Watanagashi :3 I read more earlier

This part with Tomitake really interested me, I know Shion was able to hear it but I don't recall this line being included in the anime

This, and the post-festival TIP at the police station I Think confirms that Tomitake was injected prior to coming to the ritual storehouse with Takano but if that's the case I'm curious as to when and how he was injected, surely he would've had to be unconscious?

But, if he was injected while sleeping the previous night he would've surely died too quickly right? iirc we see in matsuri that he's injected not long before his death, so unless he was like. napping or given anaesthesia I'm not entirely sure how he would've been injected here

I'm not sure if this gets answered specifically at any point as it is a little bit of a miscellaneous thing but it still interests me, if anyone has any thoughts I'd love to hear them, I mean I suppose a generic answer of him being given anaesthesia is the most likely answer but still

Also this line surprised me, because if I'm remembering right this foreshadows her death in Watanagashi, I recall reading that she dies here in the way Satoko does in Meakashi but I haven't fact checked that so I could be wrong
