I need Brennan to win an award. I need the world to know how exceptional a storyteller he is. How do you plan something like this?

I’m suddenly seeing the rat grinders as a sort of self insert for him. Not character-wise, but as tools for writing a mystery. Usually you start with the solution and work backwards. Brennan had to concoct this solution and prepare for every possible thing that the best DnD players he’s ever known might do to crack his story wide open. He needed an entire party of character foils whose primary goal was to cover their tracks and account for periphery details to outsmart The Bad Kids. An unfathomable amount of work to be able to tell this story at the pace it’s being told.

I found myself remarking earlier in the season how much planning and foreknowledge he had to have to have the variety of dome projections from @caitmayart he does and now I realize that’s just scratching the surface.

"and im gonna go buy party cups" awwww I do lowkey kind of feel bad for fabian this season like. obviously the more highly magical of the group have been favored while figuring out these god mysteries but. fabian's social maneuvering has been important too and his growth as a friend and his success on the owlbears. I don't think he's getting enough credit! especially with the election being so pivotal for the ritual!!! give him some praise!!!

Yo, we've all been giving big ups to Emily Axford, but can we talk about how annoyed Murph must be??? He was the one that kept saying that Porter just seemed like a guy. He's the DM that usually clocks when Brennan says something weird about a class or character (And Brennan rubbing it in with "what the fuck is barbarian healing"). Murph, who you can tell is proud of his wife, but is definitely beating himself up for not listening to her and catching on sooner

Jace’s end is so funny because he’s ostensibly the right had of the big bad but half of his duplicates got killed via lava shove - and that’s STILL way less embarrassing than getting arrested by the Elmville PD. He must be soooooo mad that Porter got a cool death via god sword while he gets arrested by the most embarrassing police department in Spire.

okay so one of the funny things about being interested in porter before junior year is that, one of the few bits of information we get about him before this season is in episode 1 of sophmore year when they're talking about fig having paid riz to stalk him for a bit. all we find out about him really in this bit is that a) he goes to the gym a lot, and b) he "has a family". And like obviously "family" could mean many many different things, but with him being a (at the time) minor npc, i went ahead and extrapolated a whole headcanon around his home life to fill in the gaps

so it's extra funny that he's a more regular npc now and he's got an implied relationship with zara, and more to chew on in general, because i totally forgot that the "has a family" line was an off the cuff joke made by murph and not solid lore. anyway, in my heart, porter has two sons, one in oakshield and one who just got accepted into hudol (he's very proud), him and his wife are seperated but still legally married and living together for the kids (they get on maybe 75% of the time), he still goes to the gym a lot

brennan kept saying hes been sitting on this secret for five years? and with the barbarian healing mentioned back in season 2 and porter and jace coming in (in the second ever episode of dimension 20) was this actually planned since then? theres no way right like it has to be retconning and creating story for this season?

its still incerdibly impressive storytelling if not but did he actually have porters backstory and intentions and evil planning (completely seperate from freshman year and mostly seperate from sophmore years plots) from the beginning? thats insane that cannot be possible
