#AngiesReadingAdventure Not Like The Movies by Kerry Winfrey Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Maybe it’s the emotional week I’ve had so far but I wasn’t that impressed with this. It was cute in the references of the classic rom-com movies like When Harry Met Sally and Monster in Law. I also loved how Annie made a book then a movie about a fictional love story of Nick and Chloe. I feel like through out the book I got frustrated with Chloe and her decisions as well as the way she talks to those that love her. Plus we love a MOC love interest! P.S. did you know June is also Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness month? In the book, Chloe’s dad has Alzheimer’s who lives in a home. The way this disease was put in this book reminded me of how it was the journey of seeing my abuela lose her memories. Have you read this book? Let me know! Have you picked up any new books lately? 🎥 NOT LIKE THE MOVIES by Kerry Winfrey came out yesterday, and it is SO dang cute! It's a follow-up companion to WAITING FOR TOM HANKS, though it could be read as a standalone. I adored the first book, but I think I liked this one even more. I just adored Chloe and Nick, and their reluctant but explosive love story. This book really has some of the best romance tropes (including grumpy cinnamon roll hero & only! one! bed!), and they are all executed to perfection. . . I have been reading a lot of thrillers lately and this was the perfect break. . I love rom coms and this book focuses on Annie who is rom com obsessed and dreams of being the best Nora Ephron. She rewatches rom coms, like the comfort food they are, writes a screenplay and searches for her own personal Tom Hanks. A movie starts filming in her town (because of course it does) and she gets a job on the movie (because of course she does) and we have the perfect setting for a rom com, except it doesn’t go as smoothly as she expected. . A delightful quick read that is full of whimsy and nostalgia. If you are a fan of 80’s and 90’s romantic comedy staples Annie is your girl and will be happy to debate which movie meet-cute is the all time cutest.

Full of heart and friendship as well as some romance I’d highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a laugh and some fun.

QOTD Name something great about your hometown! . . It took me a little while to get to this cutie which is ridiculous because I love rom coms and I love Tom Hanks. And even more amazingly, this book is set in Columbus, Ohio, where I live and love. I came here for college at The Ohio State University and never left. This book is full of the people and places that make Columbus such a fantastic city, like the @bookloft, an independent bookstore with 32 rooms of bargain books each housing a different genre. It's a magical place to get lost in. As for this adorable read, I can't say there's anything earth shattering happening, but fans of romantic comedies will delight in its pages.
