I can't remember if I saw this here on Tumblr or somewhere else, but I once read a comment that said something along the lines of: "Despite the fact that VTMB released super buggy and glitchy, fans continue to keep it alive and fall in love with it because of its atmosphere."
This is absolutely true. There is much to love about this game for me, but one of its most standout features is definitely the atmosphere. The music, the ambience, the environments...just stand in one of the hubs and take it all in and you'll feel it. A sense of absolute hopelessness. Everything and anything you've ever loved or even dreaded is all gone now. You're now nothing more than a mere memory in minds of anyone you've ever loved or hated as you live amongst the dead now. And yet, somewhere in there, there is a glimmer of morbid hope. Your new unlife in this literal world of darkness is yours to make of what you will. What are you fighting for? Whose memory will you leave a new imprint on in this unlife and what kind will you leave behind? Part ways with all you've ever known and whatever your human life once was and get familiar with the new, dark, twisted, disgusting, horrifying, and thrilling reality that has unluckily fallen into your lap. Welcome to the life of a Kindred.

god I love the soundtrack from vtmb. the unused tracks fit in with the other songs so well it's so *kiss* like that unused Downtown theme you can tell Downtown needed the theme it had but this is vaguely reminiscent of the Santa Monica and Hollywood themes so it's like yeah these are the hub themes
oogh. good game, good music.

This is just a quick test to confirm the VTMB models are FACS-compliant.
I added the blinking and eye movement, the lower face is 100% lip synching generated by SFM.
Female Malkavian Fledgling
The Last Round
The ambient noise is from VTMB. (Downtown hub).
The spoken line is one of Jaina's poke quotes from Heroes of the Storm. (Attaching Laura Bailey's voice to another vampire for fun and profit).

👻: do you believe in ghosts?👽: do you believe in aliens?👾: do you like video games? 🦄: what’s your favorite mythological creature? 💬: talk about anything you want!
enough people i respect have verified the existence of ghosts that i am ready to take the existence of ghosts at face value though i don’t have any personal ghost anecdotes. i strongly doubt that there are enough haunted places in the world to justify the ghost investigator tv show format. i think the more attention is given to a place the less occult, literally occulted it becomesi believe in aliens and i think the truth about them is probably both more underwhelming and mind-boggling than anyone can really expect. there are organisations in the world that know more than they let on but also know nothing.my favourite mythological creature is the minotaur because i too am the minotaur.do you remember the hospital in vtmb? not the spooky abandoned one, the one in the first hub level? that’s like a top 10 video game environment for me

Vtmb opinion: China Town is the only hub where pretty much every side quest sucks and feels super rushed, but the main quest line is still enjoyable
The Hallowbrook hotel is where the main quest starts to suck and feel rushed. And is also a bit narratively silly, because it’s a bit of a stretch to me that one Fledgling, regardless of generation, can storm through and annihilate the Sabbat, Kuei Jin and Venture tower without any help.

ventrue 回复了你的帖子 “don’t! get me started! on vtmb !”
i played it a few times on my boot camp windows like 5 months ago and it is an Experience. i wish they didn't run out of dev time at around after the Downtown hub.
i don’t know if this Experience was positive or negative but either way i agree it was definitely an Experience. it was so.......... i won’t say Good in the sense of polished, or always enjoyable to play, for obvious reasons and with valid excuses. but it was like. Genuine... it was fully dedicated to being the game it wanted to be.. and that was totally troika’s mo imho. arcanum was the same way, the almost mythical combination of a dev team that wants to try to give the player as much agency as the traditional RPG crowd craves, and also wants to provide an immersive.. setting. they didn’t really half-ass much. and that’s why they had to die.

AU Thursday: Londerland Bloodlines -- Working On A Timeline!
Yup, we're coming back to this AU again! What can I say, it's a) coming up on everyone's favorite spooky time of year, and b) something I've actually been kind of working on all summer. Namely, I've been replaying Vampire: the Masquerade -- Bloodlines with a female Malkavian protagonist and working out a rough timeline of events! Yeah, finally figured I'd pin something down regarding how long I think all of this nonsense should take. . .mostly because the VTMB wiki's take on things seems waaaay too short. They have it listed as taking place from the night of October 21st to the morning of November 1st -- a mere eleven days. Now, part of this I'm sure is that it only mentions the major quests -- the ones you have to complete to actually finish the game. And, thanks to some research I did regarding when sunrise and sunset are in the general Los Angeles area in late October, I know that Alice has roughly 13 hours of night to work with every day to get shit done. But even then, this seems pretty compressed. Especially everything to do with the Voerman sisters -- I'm CERTAIN you can’t do everything Therese and Jeannette ask of you in a single night! I'm willing to accept the protagonist getting turned the evening of October 21st, but after that I'll be forging my own path forward, plzkthnx.
So that's what I've been doing! As of this writing, I've gotten to the Downtown hub, and I'm preparing to head out on the "Calling Dr. Grout" quest. (Which is going to be an interesting experience, because seeing this asshole's creepy mansion full of abused ghouls and phonographs waxing lyrical about 19th century insane asylums is NOT doing to do great things for Alice's attitude toward vampires.) Been doing pretty much every sidequest I can (with so far one big exception -- Vandal, you're an ass and Alice will NOT be helping you replace your "blood donor"), and making guesses as to how long each event lasts and where the end of each night should fall. And based on my notes, I've already more or less reached the end of the wiki's eleven days. There's still a few things I have to tweak and adjust, admittedly -- I currently have "Explosive Beginning" happening in full the same night Alice takes care of the last of the Voerman stuff, but I'm thinking I'll have Alice meet Bertram that night, then maybe push the actual invasion of the warehouse to the next night, for example -- but I feel pretty confident that, by the time Alice goes to call on Dr. Grout, she's doing so either the night before or the night of Halloween.
. . .Damn it, now I want to make sure it falls on Halloween. That feels appropriate, given how fucked up that mansion actually is. (You guys may call the Ocean House Hotel scary, and it can be unsettling, but I was WAY more freaked out by a certain part of Grout's mansion. Can we say creepy mannequins?)
