To address the void:
I for one, didn’t hate this season. There were a lot of moments I honestly loved. The Holt ladies dynamic, having soft lance&keith moments to show how much they’ve grown up, pidge this entire season was a queen, GIRLS SHOPPING TRIP, ezor and zethrid yes pls, MFE vlogging, rachel still sitting at the kids table until she brings home a date(family tradition?? Lol) there was a lot of good this season.
Of course there are still things I wished had been different/could have been better. There are far fewer of those though: the anime trope of the bad guy and good guy getting bigger and bigger in their final fight until it’s outside of reason, that we didn’t get to see the real lotor at all, and that Coran was fricking excluded and didn’t get to say goodbye to allura that was his right fight me
BUT MY POINT IS that the fandom has always been disappointed because we didn’t see the show for what it was. We kept expecting it to change into something it was never meant to be. This was a good show and it was an honor flying with you guys

hot take but i actually liked vld 8!
the first five episodes were super fun and sweet, with good worldbuilding and funny scenes like the arm wrestling, “day 47,” allura and lance’s date prep, actual grimlin pidge, and so many other fun things! ezor and zethrid reuniting and a healthy relationship that ezor actually ended because zethrid was blinded by rage, which zethrid acknowledged and spent the rest of her screentime trying to fix it. the carnival episode was so much fun for everyone involved! episode three was some sort of horror movie with that... thing... and “day 47” was a super cool documentary! tbh i would have watched him talk about yeast for that entire episode if i could
the last couple episodes were definitely.. weak plot wise and power up wise, but thats what you kinda expect from mecha animes or any anime in general, so why not expect it in voltron? but they definitely made up for it in terms of ANIMATION
seriously yall that animation was a FLAWLESS combination of 2d and 3d animation. it was so smooth and colorful and bright! the episodes where they went into honerva’s mind was absolutely gorgeous with that scenery and her want to be reunited with her son.
(redacted)’s death made me cry. i thought it was super op, but it made me cry. they had enough time to say goodbye to their friends, just enough to reassure that their role in the universe was special because of their flaws, and then they saved them all.
i absolutely hate the voltron fandom and how everyone focuses on pairings rather then the story. voltron was rebooted to tell a story of how seven people saved us all, and they successfully did that, even if it was a bit cheesy and cliche. i am proud of their animation studio to make such a gorgeous story, their writers for making a plot that intrigued us all, and foe the voice actors bringing those characters to life. voltron was an absolutely beautiful story, and i am both happy and sad to see it go.

vld8 positivity
Though I feel like this season was all over the place, there was so many nice little things i feel like are being overlooked. And so, here’s a post recapping some sweet things you mightve missed.
- lance getting nervous to ask his crush out, even though it was reciprocated. what a nerd.
- baby lotor is precious and i’m filling the adoption papers as we speak
- allura was able to see her father again ! and that hug was everything
- colleen and pidge’s relationship was so much fun to see play on screen. change my mind.
-speaking of colleen, what a cutie! she loves to spend time with plants and yeast. we stan.
-and hunk’s moments this season were incredible! it makes me sad nobody is talking about him.
-the reason why hunk is into food and cooking is because he believes it can bring a group of people together. and he brought the alteans together by making them a dish that reminds them of home. catch me crying.
-i’m really surprised nobody has addressed hunk and ryan’s growing friendship? guys, you have to wake up. ryan spent countless hours with hunk and filmed his baking journey, even after he was told it was pretty much useless footage and he should be filming interviews. i feel like they could become really good friends.
-and don’t get me started on the yeast bonding.
-nadia voice when she interviewed people was pretty much: burger king foot lettuce
-the past and present paladins getting to fly together was great! i loved the transition scenes between the two when piloting the lions
-pidge in pigtails. that is all.
-pidge in her 80′s costume. that is also all.
-james face planting into his meal. me too, buddy
-”was the dog okay?” curtis is cute, you guys are just mean
-hunk and keith on the carnival ride together.
-james and ryan playing that shooting game together, and absolutely acing it. like it’s no surprise, but still.
-veronica noticing axca feels out of place, and spends time with her to make her feel less alone. AND saving axca’s life. hmmm
-the animation and voice acting was stellar as always. i’ll always love the show for this.
-CHANGE YOUR SOCKS
-coran screaming into a microphone like the emo boy he is.
-slav pulling out the receipts about parallel universes and taking us all by surprise.
-sam caving in and was about to give his daughter for money because he loves her so much.
-allura lifting pidge up in her arms? precious.
-arm wrestling shiro? arm wrestling shiro
-lotor standing up for himself as a teen/young adult after being abused his whole childhood. i’m so proud of him and he deserves the world.
-zarkon and honerva combining the two names they wanted for lotor into one. and i think that’s really cute.
- whether you ship it or not, lance comforting allura whenever she was feeling down was real sweet. he really was a supportive boyfriend.
-coran having a picture of him and alfor in the most dramatic room on earth.
-the majority of the alteans working for honerva realizing they were being brainwashed, and even though they knew fighting back would kill them, they wanted to do the right thing in the end.
-honerva and zarkon’s reunion in that parallel universe, and how she rested her face against his hand. so soft.
-hunk getting to hug allura first before she died. and they were able to share a few words, which is something we rarely get to see.
-and the end credits, though really questionable (easily tacked on), gave us a sweet wedding scene. the happiness in shiro’s eyes, the way his fiancee pulled him in, and kissing in front of a sunset. beautiful

In the Narti lived AU, I could see Narti spending the festival episode playing with all the cute critters at the petting zoo. Assuming there was one but I like to think there was.
I could definitely see that if the festival did have a petting zoo.
That also makes me wonder what kind of animals they would have at that petting zoo. Considering that the surface of the planet is under constant storms and has at least that one specific creature we see in season 4 running around, there would probably be at least some smaller animals that those larger ones could hunt and thus something for the smaller ones to eat and etc.
Maybe the petting zoo animals are extremely large and intimidating due to the conditions of the surface. Or maybe the inhabitants keep smaller domesticated animals underground that have adapted to that environment. Heck, these might be things Narti is curious about going into the festival.
