Hi, I was curious what happened in the Dir En Gay Incident (related to SoulSeek)? I hadn't heard of it before! :)
Hiya! It didn't happen on the blue bird app but in the ancient times of last.fm and torrent trackers where sp*tify didn't exist yet and dragons still roamed the earth.
Someone set up a torrent for the newly released album Dozing Green, people started downloading them and the attached forum discussion quickly found out their meticulously curated Winamp music libraries had collected a new artist called "Dir en Gay" - the MP3 ID3 tags of their torrented albums had been tampered with.
A day later a new hot and coming artist popped up on music habit tracking website last.fm, it quickly gathered more and more listeners. It was Dir en Gay, and the associated artist page uncovered every last.fm user who had partaken in the fundamentally anonymous activity of torrenting.
Many people would deliberately download the shiny Gay Files to take part in the joke and many laughs were had in their shoutbox (famously toxic artist comment section, the saying of "there will never be a place on the internet to discuss Dir en Grey in a civil manner" still stands to this day) until last.fm merged their statistics into the regular Dir en Grey and all history was lost when last.fm lost its shoutboxes, but the redirect is still alive to tell the tale.
When i refer to the Dir en Gay incident i refer to the culture and community attached to piracy culture, of people sharing their music with each other, and i wouldn't want to miss it.

Information about A+Lidel
Photo from A+LIDEL’s website.
A+LIDEL was founded in 2004. The brand was known for making gothic, punk and lolita style clothing. They were featured in GLB and various street snaps. The brand also sold items at Kera and on the Cute Cute World website.
It’s unclear who was behind the brand. Some messages on the brand’s site were signed by “Alice + Lidel.” Perhaps Alice and Lidel are the founders? But, that’s only my speculation; don't take it too seriously.
A+Lidel ~ Bat Shirt Blouse with Tie
Here is a rough translation from their website describing the brand’s concept and message, “A+LIDEL sets each character, You can step away from your daily life and discover a different version of yourself. Become the protagonist of your own story and weave your days together. I would like to create a wardrobe that is hard, sexy and a little cute, based on gothic punk. If you read this concept, you are also the main character of the story from today onwards. -Alice + Lidel.”

I will primarily be posting mental health vents alongside things from and relating to the jirai and menhera communities such as art, music and things I relate to.
