i can rarely explain precisely what i feel about the vk siblings and their relationship but to me they are that one hug scene from fleabag except i don't know which is which sometimes

like. they do love each other but any attempt to express that in a normal way would be a disaster. instead miles gives her a whip and franziska flies from germany to help edgeworth pretend to be a defense attorney, which is basically helping each other commit a crime, at least indirectly

Someone said “what if mvk died when miles is 20″ and now i cant stop thinking about Miles and Franziska having no choice but to be there for each other. Franziska is 13 years old, so she can’t emancipate herself, Miles has no choice but to take her in. that pisses her of so badly, he is her rival, her little brother, she was there first, why is he the one in charge now. (you are nine and your father's memory is in your muscles and your pride is a glass knife.) you kill your father. you do not stop killing your father. you are ten and you are unlearning (and you are learning) (and you are trying hard to turn yourself from a blade of grass into a sapling) and you do not stop killing your father. you are thirteen and you know how to run fast and you are realizing that he would not recognize you (and you are watching the finish line warp with you) (and you are killing your father). you are twenty and your father is in your veins but your father is in your head. you know you killed your father. (you are sixteen and your blood feels like oil.) (you are so afraid of killing your father) and you are twenty-four and you are afraid your whole life is a gravestone and you are always killing your father and you kill your father (and you are seventeen and he kills your father). (and you are eighteen and what is left of your father is running down your shoulder and running away from you and you sit and you wonder when you killed your father.) and you are twenty-six (and you are nineteen) and you are killing your father and you never ever stop killing your father

Franziska had latched onto Miles like he had rarely seen her latch onto anything, complaining that he never smiled and dragging him along everywhere she went, to the point that her nanny sometimes had to put her foot down in order to grant the boy some breathing room. Most of the time, Miles seemed happy enough to indulge her. In fact, Manfred had become acquainted with a certain glint in his eyes that, if not smothered from the onset with a well-placed glare, tended to develop into teasing that would inevitably send Franziska into a tantrum.

Franziska's situation post-AA1 is unspeakably awful and I think about it all the time. Not only does she suddenly discover her "perfect" dad is a murderer, he is the murderer of her brother's biological father. He FRAMED her brother for a crime HE orchestrated - he, the perfect prosecutor, the righteous crime-hater, her teacher and role model. Over an incredibly petty motive. She saw everything - Miles' nightmares, his struggles with perfection, the way her father treated him - and she never could have guessed the twisted depths that lay beneath it all. All she knew was that she was grasping for her beloved father's attention which seemed to always be on her brother (AAI implies that iirc), and now it turns out it wasn't that he was more perfect than her, it's just that Manfred von Karma apparently gave more importance to hatred and revenge than to familial love. And then only a couple months later Miles seemingly took his own life over it, abandoning her in turn. All those years she was nothing but an bystander in the middle of their horrific history, and once that was resolved neither of them seemed to spare a thought for her in their self-destruction. All this while she was AN OCEAN AWAY from both of them. I just. I feel for her
