I was watching some A-Team very soon after watching Miami Vice, and realized that the shows are tonally opposites to each other. Ever since then I haven't been able to stop thinking about how the MV characters would react to the A-Team - four fugitives flouting the law, but actively putting away felon after felon.
I realize that the A-Team is a much friendlier show for children, and serves a very different purpose than the stories told by MV, but the juxtaposition of justice between the two fandoms was something that I wanted to explore - even if it was only a little.
I wrote this little short with no specific time in the MV storyline on my mind. It could honestly fit in lots of different places, so feel free to imagine it where you'd like.

"Three years." Crockett said, and Tubbs didn't respond, well aware that his partner was just getting started. "Three years!" Crockett stood up, pacing back and forth as he continued, "We work our way in, we get close, we finally get enough to set up a bust and what happens?" He threw up his hands, "Some vigilante fugitives show the hell up out of nowhere and put Milford away in a week."
Tubbs wasn't sure if Crockett was finished, and so he didn't respond. Even if his partner was finished, he didn't really know what he would say.
Crockett was right.
The silence stretched as Sonny continued pacing, but before Tubbs could decide if it was time to talk, Crockett dropped into the chair next to his. "Makes you wonder why we even try to do it this way."
"It's legal." Tubbs said.
"But does it even work?" Crockett's tone was completely and totally genuine, and his expression - when Tubbs met it - was almost desperate. "If four guys can show up and take care of a guy that we've been after for years … put 'im away with enough evidence to keep him in jail for life … then what are we doin'?"
Another silence followed the bleak statement, and Tubbs considered his response before asking, "Do you wanna become a vigilante too?"
Crockett gave him an annoyed look, but it was tempered with a note of gratitude. "You know I don't."
"Then we're stuck doin' it this way." Tubbs shrugged, but cut Sonny off before the other man could respond. "We've gotten a few, too." He tapped his partner's badge where it lay on the table, "You don't flash this around because you've been sittin' on your thumbs." Sonny looked away, clearly recognizing that Rico was right. "So let's go get the next guy."
"Yeah." With a swipe of his hand, Crockett pocketed his shield, standing back up in the same movement.
---
Now after all of that I do have a question for the Vicelings out there: do you guys think that Crockett and Tubbs would be willing to go vigilante after "Freefall?" I'd genuinely love to hear thoughts on that.

“Hey, hi, so sorry to interrupt.”
The room fell silent, an air of flabbergasted offendedness that could have almost been mistaken for walking into a seminar late on a worldship. It was enough to even catch Amani’s attention, although she was more intrigued by the sheer audacity. It also didn’t hurt that it was an interruption to something she found incredibly mindumbing.
Even though it really should not have caught her by any sort of surprise, as this was exactly the kind of thing they would do, Kil’na Amani actually blinked in startled surprise.
“What is the meaning of this?” the Felimian at the head of the long office table said, sounding more like a disgruntled king than a CEO. Not that there was really that much of a difference between the two things when you got down to the particulars.
“Yeah, super sorry Mr. Lasti, sir. I’m gonna have to borrow the doctor for a quick moment,” Not What It Seems said, flashing a sheepish grin full of too many sharp teeth. It seemed destined to turn into another stunned silence, but Amani stepped forward before the businessmen around her could shuffle their neural receptors back together. Unfortunately, her boss was able to find his words again before she could make her way out of the room.
“Dr. Amani, I believe we were in the middle of a meeting,” Vicel Lasti sputtered. He wasn’t wrong, so she even slowed her walk some as she responded.
“You may continue. I assure you I will take note of anything that I miss,” Amani said, and she was quite aware that her exit could be seen as disrespectful. She also knew that everyone in that room had no doubt she would know exactly what she needed to know, whether she was at the meeting or not.
She also didn’t believe that Lasti was willing to push his luck with her yet. He still wasn’t quite delusional enough to think he was assured a win in that fight.
Besides all that, she did not think Not What It Seems would actually interrupt a meeting like that if whatever information they had wasn’t of the utmost importance. So Amani let the door to the boardroom shut swiftly behind her, not terribly concerned with any sort of repercussions. Instead she let her focus fall on the Voice waiting for her in the hallway outside.
“I do assume you have a reason for this,” she said simply, because she had not set Not What It Seems with anything this urgent. The Voice nodded, and to their credit, certainly seemed some shade of bewildered.
"Yeah so, you should probably let Lasti know he should install some windows in that meeting room. I take it y'all didn't see the sky break just now?"
Whatever Amani had anticipated them saying, it wasn't that.
"I cannot say I saw the sky break, no. Wasn't aware that was something that could be done in any meaningful way," she said, and at this point Not What It Seems was walking down the hall, and Amani followed.
"Apparently it can, whole thing decided to flicker like a cheap screen."
"You sound like the duck going on about tornados, or some such children's tale," she said, not bothering to check the specifics. She felt she had a good understanding of the Voice's competence, but it was always possible for them to have suffered massive brain injuries since they last spoke.
"It's a chicken, with a lightning storm, and I never get to correct you, this is amazing," they said, almost a touch of wonder to their voice. Amani nearly rolled her eyes.
"None of this is relevant," she replied, finally following Not What It Seems outside onto one of the testing docks. The most immediate thing she noticed was that the sky was normal. A mostly cloudless burgundy of sunset, the small red dwarf they circled around making everything tinted a bit darker.
"Fair enough, but I still hope you had some sort of recorder aimed at the sky, because whatever happened wasn't normal," the shapeshifter insisted. Amani has pretty much realized that at this point, if Seems was to be believed at all, but it was still vastly skimping on details.
“You have yet to give me a single shred of useful information about what you claimed to have happened to the sky,” she said, and that at least seemed to make them get to the point.
“To put it in your terms, there was a major anomaly in the sky, light and stars increased by like a thousand percent for a good .57 or so seconds, in all directions. I.E. The sky broke,” Not What It Seems said, and while technically that gave a bit more information, it certainly did not clear anything up.
“And why did you feel the need to pull me out of my meeting so urgently?” Amani asked, because she could not yet find something probable enough to deem this to be so important. It seemed like a strange occurrence, yes, but not her problem. Probably some sort of illusion or distraction.
“Well, mostly I was wondering if you’d heard of any sorts of mistakes that could have caused this?” they said, and that… wasn’t what Amani was expecting. She felt a frown tug at her face ever so slightly, but she avoided any actual change in expression. There was no real way of knowing if Not What It Seems had noticed or not.
“You think whatever you saw was caused by a mistake?” she asked, because she needed this to be very clear. She was still evaluating her options, and she had predicted based on past actions that if anything major was to happen, she would catch wind of it first. Hell, at this point, it was fairly likely that they would call her up to tell her themself.
“I’m just asking if you’ve heard of any, I cannot stress enough just how weird this shit was,” Not What It Seems said, not taking a solid stance. Amani ignored the weight of scrap metal in her pocket as she spoke. It wasn't hard to ignore, it hadn't made any sort of connection in well over a week now.
“No, I’ve heard of no such mistakes. Perhaps you’re experiencing paranoia. The likelihood of whatever strange phenomenon you believe you saw being connected to anything related to current work is statistically insignificant. Do not interrupt my meetings again unless it is something of actual importance,” Amani said, turning around to head back inside. She wasn’t particularly racing to get back, but it was still a necessary part of her process.
“Okay, maybe it wasn’t a mistake, capital M. But you still don’t have something to say about the sky breaking?” the Voice asked. Amani only paused because she was not so dedicated to getting back to her meeting, and so far Not What It Seems had proved to have sound judgment.
“Show me a useful piece of data, any shred of concrete evidence on the sky breaking, as you say it did, and I promise I will have more things to say about it than you could ever stand to listen to,” she said, and that was probably even true. Seems did not have a terribly long attention span.
“Hey, you’ve been outside,” Not What It Seems said, grabbing an engineer quickly trying to sneak past them by her arm. She yelped, Seems not appearing to notice. “Tell the boss how the sky broke earlier,” they commanded.
“That’s- um, I’m not sure- I wouldn’t- broken isn’t the exact wording I might use, but uh, there was certainly something strange, uh, with the sky earlier, yes doctor,” the Aracnethal sputtered out. It was pathetic, but apparently enough for Seems to deem worthy of release. For her credit, the engineer only scrambled away once Amani gave the smallest nod of permission.
“Still not dissectible evidence,” she declared once the underling had left. Not What It Seems was immediately frowning again, irritation clear, although it was just as clear that they had no intention of doing anything about that. “If this sky problem continues to irk you, as you said, there is certainly some sort of recording of the sky or security footage. You are free to conduct your own resear-”
The words died in her throat as she started to turn around, a flash of light causing her to freeze as the sky suddenly changed. As Not What It Seems had said, it was quick, a little under half a second, rather than over, but long enough for her to catch a glimpse. Long enough that the recording she had not turned off from her meeting caught for a flash on the sky, and by the time it was back to normal Amani was already rewinding and pausing the recording on the clearest shot she’d gotten.
The sky, even in the dim daylight provided by the closest sun, completely alight with stars. Unrecognizable galaxies peppered in, making it nearly impossible to spot the familiar constellations among the assortment of lights.
“Oh shit, I did not expect it to happen twice,” Not What It Seems blurted out, an incredulous delight there that Amani couldn’t even blame them for.
“Find as many scans of the sky during these incidents as possible. See if any other star systems experienced a similar phenomenon,” she said, and she didn’t even need to look around to tell there was a grin on the Voice’s face.
“You got it, boss lady,” they said, heading off somewhere as Amani began striding back to her meeting. Not that she had any intention of actually paying attention, she was scanning the small bit of recording she’d gotten for any and all data she could find. It was too much and too precise to be any sort of illusion.
Maybe she could convince Lasti to up her budget. She wasn’t sure how this would benefit him in any way, but she could probably make him think it did.

"Dancing in September" (2000) was a made-for-television drama originally aired on HBO. Reggie Rock Bythewood wrote, directed, and produced the Film, which stars a stellar cast of actors. It is an excellent film with a mindful storyline from multiple characters' perspectives. If you're familiar with Spike Lee's hard-hitting film "Bamboozled," then "Dancing in September" has a similar narrative without the blackface. Bythewood also wrote Lee's film "Get on the Bus," and without coincidence, "Dancing in September" aired the same year "Bamboozled" was released. Fascinating connection.
Director: Reggie Rock Bythewood Writer: Reggie Rock Bythewood
Starring Nicole Ari Parker, Isaiah Washington, Vicellous Shannon, Malinda Williams, Royale Watkins, Jenifer Lewis, James Avery, Jay Underwood, Marcia Cross, Michael Cavanaugh, Kimberly Russell, Peter Onorati, Rashaan Nall, Chi McBride, Juanita Jennings, Brent Jennings, Mel Jackson, Anna Maria Horsford, LeVar Burton, Tichina Arnold
Storyline Struggling African-American television writer Tommy Crawford (Nicole Ari Parker) gets her sitcom picked up by the neophyte WPX network through George Washington (Isaiah Washington), an executive hired to develop shows aimed at the black market. But, as the season wears on, Tommy's original high-minded concept slowly devolves into a dumbed-down vehicle for its breakout star, ex-hustler James (Vicellous Reon Shannon), whose struggles threaten to capsize the entire project.

The prosecutor could not have known, prior to the development of the complete record at trial, what significance the oral report might have. The rear lights did not extend across the whole back of the car. [citation needed] During his visit to London to fight Scott, Carter was involved in an incident in which a shot was fired in his hotel room.[11]. Marzeno v. Gengler, 574 F.2d 730, 735 (3d Cir.1978). Rubin Carter Hurricane Carter 843 Words 4 Pages. Although Rubin Carter also known as the Hurricane was discharged for the murder of three people in a bar, two men and one woman, there is overwhelming evidence to support the fact that Carter was, in fact, responsible for the crime of which he was acquitted. But Carter had a predatory instinct for survival, and he was eventually allowed to live quietly in his fourth-tier cell. The live rounds were found long before ballistics determined the caliber of the handgun used in the crime. In its widest release the film was featured in 2,148 theaters. Hurricane The Miraculous Journey of Rubin Carter - Amazon. This song is about Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, a boxer who spent 19 years in jail for a murder Dylan felt he did not commit.Carter's case is complex and filled with legal missteps. He emptied his pockets, was frisked, was scanned by a hand-held metal detector, and had his right hand stamped with invisible ink. Scientific testingboth DNA evidence and sophisticated ballistics analysisoften level a playing field tilted by racial inequality and intolerance. He refused to accept virtually anything the prison offered, and that included visits inside the reincarnated Death House. Eight years later, Bello and a co-suspect, Arthur Bradley, who also claimed that Carter was present at the scene of the crimes, renounced and recanted their testimony. Hurricane, stands as one of Dylans true masterpieces and incorporates the best aspects of his literary style and songwriting capabilities. The song was so influential many believe it even helped to get Rubin Carter released from jail and acquitted of all charges.but only Hurricane actually helped get someone out of jail, even if it did take 12 years (Schlansky, 1). You wont find this information in Norman Jewison's horribly misleading movie and those biased books, but it is indisputably true. Dylan wrote this song with Jacques Levy, a noted director of Broadway stage productions who also wrote lyrics, including for The Byrds song ". ". The jury could and did reasonably arrive at its conclusion. A Literary Analysis of Here Comes the Story of the Hurricane by Rubin Carter. Here comes the story of the Hurricane-Rubin Carterthe boxer,. It bases this contention on Assistant Prosecutor Marmo's testimony and the letter written by Prosecutor Humphreys to Attorney General Hyland. The Real Truth of Rubin Hurricane Carter Merion West. Eventually, the case was settled out of court, with the producers paying the retired champion damages and with Jewison agreeing to make a statement on the DVD version that "Giardello no doubt was a great fighter."[19]. However these metaphors are not always clearly displayed throughout the verses, and the reader (or listener) usually has to make up his her mind (Steen, 196). Nonetheless, police ordered Carter and Artis to headquarters for questioning, this time by then-Lieutenant DeSimone. Norman Jewison's film starts slowly, with Carter's early years and his run-ins with Della Pesca. It was a business dispute, not a racial matter. That determination in turn rests in this case on two related factors first, what use the prosecution made of the ostensible, but unintended, conclusion in Harrelson's written report that the polygraph indicated Bello was on the street during the shootings; and second, what use the defense would have made of the intended, but undisclosed, Harrelson oral opinion that the polygraph confirmed that Bello was in the bar both before and during the shootings.
