･ ｡ﾟ☆: *.☽ SUMMARY, you’re nothing but a maid in that house. nothing. you might as well have been a shadow, doomed to lurk behind the ones who were prettier than you, had more privilege, more influence; those who shined the brightest. everyday, you dreaded having to be bound to such people. your lordship, the duke of wadenreich ishida uryū was one of them, and he did not make it any easier on you with his inordinate demands and expectations. but yet, you can’t seem to still your heart or mind whenever he draws near. little did you know, your unremarkable routine of dusting the books and furniture of the library in the far left wing of the mansion would change your life forever.
･ ｡ﾟ☆: *.☽ INCLUDES, a cinderella-esque trope. slightly mean/ooc uryū for the plot. reader is a servant in the ishida household. reader is also thick + black-coded, but you don’t have to imagine it as such. royal au! bridgerton au! unrequited love. some angst. descriptions of fantasy elements and magical objects. hints of misogyny + sexism. formal/Victorian language used. eventual smut/explicit content. descriptions of violence. all characters aged up where appropriate. minors do not interact.

When Ichigo Kurosaki joins his class, it's impossible for Uryū Ishida to ignore the new kid's high reiatsu leaking all over the place --
And in a twist of fate... Uryū decides he can't ignore the new kid either, and decides to reach out.
Thus, Ichigo and Uryū become friends early on in solidarity of perceiving the spirit world...
and Ichigo gets Quincy training from a young age.
(and maybe learns about Masaki early on, from either Isshin or Ryuuken? Whoever discovers them both training at the same time first-- and in this better world, Yuzu and Karin also are told the truth and actually prepared for the abilities they've inherited. )
