I hate to do this again, but I'm out of options. I have to pay my $350 power bill by 5pm CST tomorrow (December 7th, 2023) or I'll be disconnected, and my account is currently over $500 in the red from December's rent. I still haven't been able to find a new job and things are getting really desperate

#i'm really embarrassed to be asking again already #to preemptively answer some questions: the last post was about November's (overdue) rent. that was paid. the overdraft is for December #and no i don't know why this one overdrafted my account but the last one bounced #and yes $350 is an unusually large power bill. there was an issue with my water heater that my landlord took his sweet time to come fix #ugh i really do hate doing this again so soon i'm sorry #it's almost making me regret giving so much to mutual aid when i had a well-paying job instead of saving #keyword almost - i'm still glad i did - but damn this situation sucks

#kingdom hearts 0.2 birth by sleep a fragmentary passage #kh0.2 #depths of darkness #realm of darkness #my gif #they did a good job making the realm of darkness look distinct from the realm of light #because this place really does feel like nowhere we've ever been before #the rocky pathways with no sign of organic life make me feel like i'm on the moon or an alien planet #it's interesting how fallen worlds feel like they're all stitched together between areas like this #aqua can simply walk from place to place without needing a ship or keyblade glider to fly her to a new world #though who's to say how long it takes her to do all of that #as if the realm of darkness is one big ever growing expanse of land without any known boundaries between worlds #we know that all worlds used to be connected in the realm of light long ago and i'm guessing that's the case in the realm of darkness #it's never been split or fractured by keyblade wielders so it still follows its own rules and laws of nature #that'd be pretty interesting #we see this area start as a rocky wasteland that transitions into flat sandy terrain from the destiny islands #but you have to walk through a huge blinding light to get there first which is really unusual #it makes me think of how terra and aqua were guided to destiny islands by a bright light #and how destiny islands appears as a ball of light on the world select menu in bbs #but why portray it that way? we've been shown before what the world of destiny islands looks like from afar with the CoM world cards #and it's not like they even needed to include it on the world select screen in bbs because it's not a world you can even visit on your own #i don't know what it's all supposed to mean yet but #i believe the islands are more significant than we know at this time and this game continues to raise a lot of questions #it's certainly called 'destiny' islands for a reason

i updated a week ago lol what is ur frame of reference for “slower updates”…like i get that i’ve been updating more slowly than when i originally started posting the fic but ive still been posting consistently 1-2 times a month for like the past 6 months and i regularly answer questions abt the fic on this blog + talk abt my plans 4 it so i’m not really sure why you’d be worried abt it getting abandoned.

A very brief turn by Frazer Hines, as stable hand Jem, in Peter Diamond's pilot for a proposed adventure series Lochinvar (1968). There was little interest in the pilot or any subsequent series, and ultimately the sole filmed episode was never transmitted - it survived in the hands of director/producer Diamond until his family donated the film stock to Kaleidoscope a few years ago.

#fave spotting #frazer hines #lochinvar #tv pilot #jamie mccrimmon #doctor who #classic doctor who #1968 #peter diamond #an unusually small role for Frazer; he may not have been lead material‚ but he's barely onscreen 30 seconds here and was a well known tv #presence thanks to stints on Emergency Ward 10 and of course DW (which he was still starring in). possibly he did this as a favour to #Diamond; a ubiquitous stunt arranger and fight choreographer‚ this was Diamond's attempt at breaking out into production and direction but #he would have known Frazer from various jobs he'd done on DW (including Frazer's intro story The Highlanders‚ where Diamond had been fight #arranger as well as having a credited acting role as a sailor). this was shot around July '68 so presumably between Frazer's work on The #Mind Robber and The Invasion; apologies for the slightly weird stretcg effect on the pics but that's true of the materials themselves #strangely Lochinvar is not in 4:3 aspect‚ despite being quite definitely a tv pilot‚ but in a strangely unnatural widescreen as if the #masters were altered at some point in post production (perhaps for a potential cinema release as a support feature?). i can only conjecture #tho. unsurprisingly there's almost no info out there about this obscure tv film that sat in a rusty can for 50 years unseen.#also my immediate thought on reading about it was that the shooting dates Very Nearly coincide with The Mind Robber shooting #(nearly but not quite) and i excitedly wondered if maybe Frazer's infamous bout of chickenpox that saw him replaced for ep2 of that serial #had secretly been a little mischievous excuse to go away and have some fun playing with horses in Buckinghamshire... alas no #Diamond would reunite with Frazer (and Lochinvar co star Noel Coleman) for the following years The War Games where he'd again #be pulling double duty as fight arranger and (uncredited) actor. later in life he would end up doing a little more directing work for tv #but afaik the Peter Diamond Productions company that made this film never worked again

i have watched hours upon hours of japanese train videos maybe i should just go full autist and try to memorize the name of every single model type they got

#favorite type of video im really into right now sre the ones from rush hour in tokyo #people try their absolute best to fit into those carts and somehow like magically succeed #i like when they have those guys who have it as their job to just push people in when the doors close it looks fun #like get in there~~ ^__^ *pushes you until your bones break* tehe dont be late for work/school! ^_^ *your designer bag has been demolished*#actually maybe i will not memorise the trains they have so many.. i should try and see if i can memorize the train lines #<- notice how i am very confident in my ability to memorize but never use it for anything useful. this is my philosophy and teachings #otherwise i also have hour+ long japan train station livestreams on (often old archived vids almost never live) so peaceful i love thetrains #<- as in i have those in the background while i do something else #<- but sometimes i get so caught up and interested i get distracted #also lastly i just wanna say how much i love the whole densha otaku phenomenon and how not unusual it is over there #ewil's reasons for visiting japan leaked: buy stationary go to live houses and ride epic trains

I just sent back my signed contract for the technical writer gig. It's for a paid test 10 hour project so we can both see if we're a fit for each other, which I like. I kinda thought that's what the next step would be in the first company's interview process but it wasn't.

I didn't really talk about how that interview went on here. Just realized that! It was only 30 minutes long. I met with the director of documentation and senior technical writer. It was structured so cleanly - 3 specific questions, about 10 -15 minutes of the director explaining what areas they work in, any questions I had and then any follow up questions they had.

There was none of the song and dance selling of yourself that was expected. They could see I have database experience and asked a couple of questions about that. They also asked about my writing experience. I explained that I had not produced any external/ customer facing documents but that they were all internal for fellow developers and QA folks. I also added that it wasn't documentation that was requested / assigned to me. I just created it because there was a need. They didn't even need to see a portfolio or writing samples.

In the follow up questions, the technical writer was SO SURPRISED that I created documentation on my own. It's honestly what I do for myself in a haphazard and understandable-to-me way anyway. I'm never able to remember all of the fine details of stuff so I create my own notes/ cheat sheets / likely over-document my own code. The things I created people told me were helpful. I am not a fan of information living in one person to where if something happened to that person, people were screwed.

So, we shall see. It will take up to 2 weeks for their side to sign things and get the project Statement of Work ready. And then from there we'll collaborate on a date that works for us both.

I'm glad I decided to take the plunge into freelancing for this. The way the job market is, I seriously doubt I'd find a job doing what I want to try out. This way, I can take my small steps and assess without the stress of having to be in a job that I hate until I can find a different one.

Friday my test scoring gig starts and that's a steady 9 -5:30 through the 24th. No weekends, so I can work on the other content writing thing over the weekend, too.

#I mean trying to find gigs is a bit stressful but I feel more in control of things this way #job search 2023 #I can't pull joy out of myself to try to even be a full time developer anymore #maybe in something new if folks were willing to train but that's so unusual anymore #maybe when the job market changes again

i got a scholarship to do a 6 month course with google on data analytics and it’s honestly so cool and unexpected and now i’m doing that and a post gradute thingy in UX/UI design and yay so many cool interesting things i’m learning

We do think that Riz is a gynandromorph of some description, especially since damselfly sexual dimorphism tends to be pretty distinct and he's displaying a very unconventional morph for a damselfly of any flavor. He would have no goddamned clue what that would mean, of course, and he probably wouldn't care about it if you told him, but he's definitely got something going on there.

#we speak #bug fables #for reference its a Thing for damselflies to have mimicry in the form of Females Who Look Like Males #but its a one-way street. theres no equivalent female-mimic morph for males #which makes riz Extremely Notable since hes displaying a real clear female morph there #and though being transgender would be very much possible for him we prefer this option #especially since it also offers extra reason why he's got such a broad palette compared to his sister and his father #guy is Unusually Big for a male damselfly and just didnt think twice about it. he feels like the sort of guy who just #wouldnt care overly much for self-definition we think. hes got a job to do. do you think he cares about how rare his genes are?#for his sister there is literally no way to tell if shes transfem or just a mimic morph and tbh good for her #we'll. drop some comparison images in a reblog for the irl damselflies #but in general we favor this one both bc it appeals to us more and bc riz just feels like the sort of guy who wouldnt care much abt gender #like. even if he were trans he feels like the sort of guy who would tell like three people about his pronouns #and then just go about his day and either they tell people or they dont and he doesnt particularly care either way #hes got things to do. traps to build. yes hes a guy but what is the point of making a thing out of it when theres poachers to deal with #he feels like the sort of dude to be Cis Guy enough that hes entirely confused as to what ur talking about if u try and misgender him #no clue where youre coming from but youre wrong #anyways back to spear fighting 101 #(note: male and female used here as in the arbitrary sex categories. its the junk. we know its not accurate to being A People)#(its the terminology we've got in the back drawer)

the fact that espio and charmy and vector technically Are all coworkers is hilarious to me . the idea of charmy being an employee at all is just really funny in general
