I think the fundamental difference between f1 and motogp is that the former takes itself too seriously and is unable to embrace to absurdity of going fast meanwhile you can clearly feel the self satirization in motogp starting from when they put babies on those bikes have you SEEN how big those helmets are on their bobble heads and how hilariously tiny the bikes that they start them on are, worse have you SEEN a baby on a dirt bike a la Casey Stoner or Marc Marquez it’s absolutely terrifying but funny as fuck that they put that baby on a bike and the baby (mostly) stayed on the bike when a baby is in a kart it’s like it’s in a cradle but when a baby is on a bike it’s like one of those animals who can just walk from birth and then it gets even funnier with the lower classes because those are teenagers. and their route to self discovery is causing 20+ rider incidents on the track, which is why when u get to the premier class it’s just peak unhinged because this is the fastest they’re going to get it’s not really the class of most prestige more than it is the class of most SPEED so u have these mfers picking out cute nicknames for themselves and branding themselves on the ass with the Mario font going up to the podium with a Batman costume on and walking around with their tits out on a Sunday morning.
