in 2021 I participated in the making of ‘shuwatch!! the ultraman fan zine’ for volume 2! I was able to draw a piece for one of my favorite series and a postcard set :D
it was awesome seeing so many works all going towards a good cause! I had a blast with these pieces and was an amazing learning experience to experiment with new mediums and techniques!!

[Akari is showing showing her friends one of the weird hybrid plants on her Earth due to some of the alien population experimenting with the local flora.]
Akari, holding up a blue-green round fruit: This is a plaster gourd, it's also known as Medic's gourd.
Geed: Why?
Akari: Well, for starters *She cracks the gourd open with her bare hands* look at how ripe the inner flesh is.
Akari: If the flesh were white, when exposed to air it dries out fast turning rock hard and is pretty much inedible, but you can crush into a powder and mixed it with water to create a plaster substitute, which can be used for housing or mending broken limbs also the smell it gives off works a decent bug repellent.
Taiga: and if it's pink like that?
Akari: At this point the gourd is over ripe, it doesn't harden like it does in it's young stage, though it does firm up into a thick custard like consistency and at this point it is edible or let it ferment a little longer and you got a nice frothy juice that can give you a pretty decent buzzz...
{Zero gives her a look.]
Akari: Not... that I would know *chuckles nervously* Moving on!
Akari, scoops some pulp into some bowls: Here, have a taste if you're brave enough.
{The ultra kids all awkwardly look at each other trying to figure out who to sacrifice? When Orb suddenly rushed over.]
Orb: Is that Plaster gourd?
Akari: *nods*
Orb, turns into Gai: I have been craving this for so long!
*he takes one of the bowls and starts eating groans in satisfaction*
Grigio: What's it taste like?
Gai: It's mix between a dragonfruit, a watermelon and black cherries. Back on my Earth I tried for years to recreate the flavor with smoothies, but I just couldn't get the thickness or tartness right...
{The other ultras tried the fruit and like it they started asking about more fruits and vegetables that can be found in the wasteland.]

second out of three! this one was for @kamenriderliveblog in the toku holiday exchange, and is a crossover between carmeara of trigger fame, and grigio of r/b fame. there was a stage show that involves the two of them working together, and it was fun trying to explore grigio trying hard to befriend carmeara! here's a sneak peek!
“One by one?”
“Yep! You stab your marshmallow with the stick and roast it over a fire!”
Grigio reached over to the bag of marshmallows, picking what looked to be the plumpest one to hand to Carmeara. All of these looked rather nice, but she saved some of the more squished ones for herself — she’d already had some of these before, hadn’t she? Best to save the good ones for Carmeara.
Carmeara sighed, deeply and in frustration. Oh. Oh no. What did she do wrong?! That certainly did not look like a happy expression whatsoever!
“Patience is a useless virtue. Let’s end this passionately!” Carmeara announces.
