Facebook apologizes for blacklisting Kenyatta’s message to Museveni
Tumblr media
Social media giant Facebook on Thursday apologised to Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta after it erroneously flagged his congratulatory message to his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni.
A statement from the platform said the message posted on Sunday had been mislabelled as false after it carried a photo that had appeared in a separate social media post whose message had turned out to be fake.
“We are aware that our automated systems incorrectly labelled a post from State House Kenya as false,” a Spokesperson from Facebook told Newscheckz on Thursday.
“The post was a congratulatory message on HE President Yoweri Museveni’s re-election that featured a picture of the president that had appeared in a previously fact checked article that was flagged as false in December 2019. The issue has been resolved, with the matching error fixed. We are in communication with the State House Kenya.”
The message was flagged after “independent fact-checkers” had noted the information was “false”, Facebook said.
State House had at teh weekend issued a statement congratulating President Museveni after he was declared winner of Uganda’s January 14 election with 58.6 percent of votes cast against his closest challenger Bobi Wine’s 34.8 percent.
State House said Museveni’s re-election was “a testimony of the confidence the people of Uganda have in his leadership.”
President Kenyatta said he looked forward to “deepening the strong bilateral ties between Kenya and Uganda for the mutual benefit of the people of the two republics.”

William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto. Charismatic, articulate and charming politician. His political grandstanding can only be matched by BABA. But, can he outgun a well-oiled state machinery with BABA onboard, designed with sole aim of obliterating his political career. Can he convince majority of Kenyans that the stories they have heard of his appetite to public coffers are all but work of creative enemies and have no one iota of truth. * * * * * * * * * * #ruto #williamruto #dp #kenyapolitics #kenya #kenyadeputypresident #kenya #uhurukenyatta #jubilee (at Westlands, Nairobi) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9gVqFrhefY/?igshid=1jzgaiggpz3rx

Kenya`s President to take a break

Kenya`s President to take a break
Tumblr media
The President of Kenya Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta is set to be unavailable for public engagements and phone calls unless it is an emergency, after Kenyans mark their National Jamhuri day set to celebrate their independence day on 12th this month.
The ministry of Foreign Affair has made this information public to all Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations. President Uhuru is set to have his break till 15th January 2021.
Any emergency requests will e made through the Principle Secretary.
Part of the issues raised by the Ministry is that the year through the Pandemic has increased the workload and made it more complex by necessitating virtual engagements.
Kenya is currently staring at a health system crisis with most medics going on strike in protest of being ignored by the government, coming a time when the countries political temperatures are sour with some political leaders appearing to be confused on whether to consent to a Building Bridges Initiative report set to amend their 2010 constitution through a referendum or not.

State of the Nation 2017... Even with all our internal drama, we are still moving forward... The relentless drive of our People of Kenya🇰🇪, always astounds me. Let's keep it going, I think the president pointed out most of the issues at hand. Growth is Growth, and the focus on Massive infrastructure projects will only be clear in time for most Kenyans. He also outlined the Governments vision to take back Kenya to being a Manufacturing Nation thus the Emphasis on Infrastructure. I think it's very doable we have a very well educated and skilled labor all we need is investment in that sector and we will thrive, we have grown our purchasing power through the years ensuring products made in Kenya already have a ready local market. He also mentioned the negative effect of the interest cap which really affecting the access to loans for so many SMEs and the entire Economy. I like that he mentioned the growing Government Wage Bill, over half of our Tax revenue goes to service the Wage bill that covers all public servants including Teachers Doctors MPs etc Only 700,000 People get paid over 690 Billion in one year... Imagine 2% of the entire population consumes half of our Tax Collection. Am glad he pointed out that the growing appetite for further increases in salaries by the Public servants is mainly as a result of the aggressive increases by the MPs, thus setting a bad precedent. I hope the reductions outlined by the salaries commission for the next Government are implemented so that we may have more money to invest in the economy... All in all am happy we are still moving forward. #Stateofthenation2017 . #ProudlyKenyan #uhurukenyatta #kenya #SOTN2017 #SOTN2017Kenya (at Nairobi, Kenya)

President Uhuru Kenyatta hosts the Kenyan U-19 cricket team at State House, Nairobi, where he handed over the national flag to them as they gear up to represent the country in the ICC - International Cricket Council Under 19 Cricket World CUP 2018 (January 6 to February 4) in Christchurch, New Zealand. . Kenya's Under 19 cricket team qualified for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018 New Zealand after beating Uganda by 7 wickets, sending their neighbours packing to the pavilion in just 9 overs and 60 runs. . The team includes two all-rounder Sikhs - 18 year old Jasraj Singh Kundi and 16 year old Sukhdeep Singh – besides Sachin Bhudia, Maxwell Ager, Thomas Ochieng, Aman Gandhi, Yaksh Patel, Dennis Musyoka, Abishekh Chidambaran, Rahul Seedher, Ankit Hirani, Jayant Mepani, Gerard Mwendwa, Aveet Desai. . Kenyan cricket, though having been played for almost a century now, reached its peak when the country reached the semi-finals in the 2003 Cricket World Cup, and since then tanked to such a level that their once world-renowned international prowess as a rising power in the game is now considered 'dead and buried'. . Since losing the one-day status since, Kenya has continued to rebuild their game through new blood ins school and club-level cricket and the patience is paying off, as these youngsters show new promise to return Kenya to its old glory, and probably work their way up the point their predecessors failed to - to be counted as a test nation in the game. .
